I believe for Steve it was a necessity. I went to one of their concerts in 1983 and he came onstage in an extremely tight pair of jeans but I didn't mind that at all. He put so much energy into that show, that by the end of it his pants were loose. They would have probably fallen completely off if they hadn't been so tight start with; which once again, I would not have minded at all. 😊

This song was written by Steve when he found out the girl he was living with in L. A. was cheating on him. He came home from work early to find her gone. She returned home with another guy in his Corvette and was kissing him. Needless to say, Steve left 🙂 This was in the years before he joined Journey. I love how you mention Steve's physical musicality. He feels the rhythms down to his soul. Love it!

Steve's cool footwork with the drumbeat is because he is a drummer. Notice he always starts a song near the drum kit. It is his happy place. If Steve could have run all over the stage the way he does and drum at the same time, he would have been a happy boy!

I remember those tight fitting jeans days. If you didn't have to lay down to zip them and could still breathe then they weren't tight enough. They had to be tight enough to count the change in your pocket from the outside if any would fit in your pocket. 😂

Steve Perry was also a drummer so his foot movements are following the beat of the drums. He is the whole package.

Steve Perry's highschool bass player (Dave Geffkin) was actually a co-worker of mine years ago! When he first told me that he played in a band with Steve I was like, "Sure you did Dave!" But then we googled it and there he was! In fact, Dave grew up in Hanford California with Steve and said Steve always had that golden voice even before becoming famous with Journey! Crazy story!!

🔥🔥Love Journey and love Steve Perry. I do prefer the 1979 version of this song better though. Don't get me wrong, this is great, but the other version is slower and flirtier, and even more melodic.. 🎶 I am so happy that you are reacting to a Journey song again. More of them please!!💥💕 I love your appreciation of this great band. Peace J ✌ ☮ 💕

Oh yes, this is very rock with an extra blues vibe that can get you really hypnotic. But this blues rhythm went very well with the lyrics 🎶 . And they end up grooving and jamming with the crowd 🕺🏼. It's just amazing how easily they can dive into this style and yes the rhythm is clearly visible in Steve's footwork. Great reaction HAP and I appreciate your kind of approach until you get to the big hits 👍. Take your time and thank you 🙏 🥰🙋🏻‍♀️

Great reaction as always Hap. Lovin’ Touchin, Squeezin was one of Journey’s epic classics. I wish that you had reacted to the actual official video of it. This version is faster here and was more improvised than the original. The original definitely has a heavier bass and bluesy, slower style to it and also the audio here is not the best to showcase Steve’s pitch perfect, liquid gold voice. I suggest when you have a spare moment that you check it out for yourself. It has a sexier, slower, more seductive sound and style which is a lot heavier on the bass and drums. You may definitely have a different feel to it in comparison with this one. Absolutely enjoying the ride with your Journey down the “Journey” rabbit hole. I would love to see you react to “Why Can’t This Night Go On Forever” from the Raised on Radio Album. It’s one of my favorites and is a beautiful song showcasing Steve’s amazing crystal clear voice. I believe you will love it. Have a great weekend Hap♥️

This became two part song...it started with "Lights in the city" and then they'd play play this..it became almost one song! The DJ at our local radio station came up with idea! Another one song he came up with was "Crimson and Glover" the voice version and then the instrumental part second alone! Everyone was scratching their heads...is this a new version?! Finally he clude us in....this was the only way to play the song! 👍🥰

Those extremely tight jeans were a fashion back then, I think, haha! Haven't you seen Freddie Mercury prancing in his tights?! (that was something to remember :-)) Aside from weird fashion, it was, to my surprise, a really rockin' song. When I heard the title I expected something more...well, sexy, slower and seductive..But the guitar part took over the meaning of the song, more than lyrics, that was fantastic! (Btw, thank you for reading them, I also had hard time recognizing the words)

@@jillmcilwain2633 Checked! Very girly outfit 😁 But, at least, the black colour of the pants hide the details, haha! You're right, this slow-paced version is what I originally expected, more fitting the title of the song. Although, both are good on Its own way.

You really have to watch the official video to this song because when they do it live it sounds like it almost a totally different song so I would give it a listen even if you just listen to it on your own and not do a reaction to it but it really is different live I personally like the official video better than the live version which is strange cuz I usually like Steve Perry's voice better live but you can hear him better on the official video and understand the lyrics

Watch the official video. This live version is a little faster than the actual song, I guess bc of the time constraints of a concert. The original has a more "jazzy/bluesy" feel to it, more in the style of Sam Cooke.😉
