yup, 80's, 90's, I would even say early years of new millenium - music, music clips, movies - it was all made for the sake of fun. Even the weirdest or dumbest ideas had chance to be realized as long as there was passion behind it. Newdays it's all about making money and pleasing agendas for minorities, ruining brands, franchises, making cover after cover or remix of a cover - creativity is dead.

Yes it was. It was the best decade for a lot of reasons, especially cool toys. My 6 year old now sees something old and says "dad that looks like its from the 1980s". It makes me smile. He sees my old toys that I won't let him open and drools over the transformers. He loves the music too, he's a little Poison and Def Leppard fan for sure!

I was 24 in 1980 and just bought a 62 Corvette for $4500. What a deal. In 1984, I met and married the most wonderful woman I have ever known. 40 years later, she is more beautiful and amazing than ever. We still enjoy Corvettes as I surprised her with a 22 C8 Corvette (This one is all hers). She was absolutely blown away!!!! But better than that we have 7 children born between 1985 and 1996. Now have 5 grandchildren. We only list to 70s and 80s music, especially when out cruising in any of our amazing cars! A happy wife is a blessing!

Listening to it today in the car on my playlist. It hadn't finished by the time I had parked at home, so I just sat in my car and sang and listening till it finished. I don't usually do this to any song and guess what, when it finished, I played it again. It actually made me cry on a very deep level. Yes, nostalgia from when I was a kid but it was something more that got me. I've been through a very trying situation the last 7 years, splitting from my partner who I have two children with.( I never listened to this song with my partner so thankfully there is no connection with them.) I discovered many a great things about myself, my habitual behaviours that stemmed from childhood and most of all I discovered what self love is. I mentally have grown so much and for the first time in my life quite comfortable being on my own. ...However, my favourite lines in the song, "put your hand in my hand, don't ever look back" and "put your arms around Baby, don't ever let go", really got to me. Undeniably, there is a feeling that to have someone to go through life's journey, that really supports you, to say things are going to work out and needs you too, harks back to that basic , even primitive origins that we to be in pairs.
