They had it running fan always on, the problem was that in the use it was in, this is the 3rd fan that has been put in it. I installed another new fan back in April. 3rd fan since 2014. Running them 24/7 on 1/3 speed and only putting them in full power when any load was being drawn was a problem. It wore out fans and was constant running full blast on as little as a 5 watt timer that ran night time LED bulbs that did not heat up the 120v circuit. Expensive $9 Taiwan ball bearing fans 3X on a $49 inverter, just goofy. These inverters already run cool even without a fan on on loads under 50 watts. Just normal heat sinking. But months ago the fan stopped again, I soldered another in and figured I need to soon reduce the wear and tear. Cooling fans like these run longest lifespan on 80% designed speed, running them on 1/3 actually heats up the windings more than airflow can deal with, speed controller circuits tend to do that, lower voltage and raise amps to maintain the motion. Lenovo Computers had 30 million $ in recalls for it. Running them full bore at 100% wears out the bearings fast. If you have a ceiling fan with a speed control, say 10 points, put it on low speed 2, go up feel the motor (VERY HOT!!) Put it on 10 (motor only WARM) then read the manual where it recommends 50% or faster speed to extend motor life.

Yes, use a NO 30C ( 86 degrees F) ebay.us/7gLr1Y to operate the fan, most those fans are 3 to 4 amps, it will work fine. Attach it to a piece of aluminum like 1/16" angle about 1" wide, keep out of the sun, and it will come on at 86 degrees, go back off when temps drop under 80 degrees.

To use them for a plan like that, where you have lots of humidity, place 2 on the aluminum, bridge them parallel like you would a battery, then you have a back up switch in the link incase one malfunctions. That is how attic exhaust fans are wired with 2 so if one fails to work, with both able to be the switch, the other sends and cuts power.

John, I got a question. The battery on my CRV. I have been having a problem getting it to start with the start button. I think battery. I checked it this morning, cold, 12.75 volts. I charged it with my 8A Schumacher charger green light. It then read 13.34 volts. I cranked it up to see what the alternator was putting out. It was putting out 14.43 volts. What do you think? Other possibilities are -brake switch, starter relay, starter button.
@JOHNDANIEL1
@JOHNDANIEL1 Жыл бұрын
Do a start volt drop test. Have someone start it without it charged up, at 12.75v while you hold a meter on the battery post to see how far the volts drop when it won't start. If they do not drop below 12.5 battery ( thats fuel pump and electronics pull) then is ok, If it tries to start but volts drop below 11 then replace battery. If ignition on, and it drops below 12.4 BEFORE you hit the start button, consider the fuel pump and its relays drawing far too much amps, killing a weak battery. If it stays over 12.4 but it still won't start then look at the starter relay as first suspect on those. I think its in the under dash relays. When they get weak the extra volts on a hot battery helps them work, pulls the contacts that may have carboned up much tighter. The CRV if used for motorhome towing also can get lots of exhaust from the motorhome into its chassis, causing the transmission neutral lock out switch, they call them the range switch to get bad ground connections and can also add trouble. Moving the selector or gear shift in a manual back and forth a bunch before trying to start it may show its issue, a little jiggle goes a long way LOL! The hotter 14+ volt battery on that issue makes the ground work better but fails to work well with lower amps/volts of a weak battery.

Appreciate the content. How feasible would it be to build a master/slave/slave...etc system with a number of grid-tie inverters for off grid use? Seems like that idea would combat the high idle consumption of larger units.
@JOHNDANIEL1

Not recommended on most inverters. The sleep/standby mode is totally unlike the active of a utility for a grid tie inverter.

Yes, miners take some serious cooling. Best is Peltier due to simplicity but you can get some bad condensation if your not running them on a outside cooling radiator.

Is it better to run a bus bar across the top of the batteries like you have in your video or have at least 6awg cable run from batteries to a copper bar ? I'm just wondering.
@JOHNDANIEL1
@JOHNDANIEL1 Жыл бұрын
Either way, but 4 AWG not 6 if your going cable. Just the cost of terminals made the free copper pipe and layout lots cheaper to do the testing and may be used in the install.

@@ambersmith6517 triacs and diacs are part of the thyristor family,, Known for very low on resistances-- but can only be switched or or off at zero crossing -- commonly used in switch mode power supplies ,, there 3 terminal devices like a mosfet -- because there on resistance is so low - milli ohms- they dont produce too much heat !
