You can see so many ancient settlements still clearly visible on the land for miles and miles around Gobleki Tepe. There is so much more to ancient Turkey than we know or are being told.

Yes, the tools we now possess are hundreds times better than 50 years ago! And this will be true again in the future. It’s not just digging up big stones. The real crazy thing is that Islam, Christianity, and Judaism is that they are essentially supportive of each other when it comes to the old testament. Story goes that the monks in the mountains of Tibet(?) had a gold emulate with jewels, and now the US Government intelligence has it so the Chinese won’t steal it. But they have records of the floods, and I am sure what it was like after. Makes sense why they live high in the mountains and practice self disciplines, for the day of hell fire may so willingly come again with no dispute and now you have to suffer for real.

Tell Abu Hureyra is from the Younger Dryas and shows the transition from hunter gathering to agriculture. Karahan Tepe is similar to Gobekl Tepe but a little older. This whole area is filled with really ancient sites. The problem is not excavation but the cost of preservation. As soon as you uncover sites they begin to erode. If they had not been buried there would be little to show that they ever existed.

My opinion on why the excavation of Gobeckli Tepe has come to a halt,is to prevent the public from having knowledge that maybe everything that we have been taught is inaccurate.It certainly disrupts all the major religions in the world that currently teaches that civilization is only about 6000 years old. Such deferment is common in archaeology. I was part of a dig in Germany and visited numerous sites in Denmark. On several sites were areas set aside for future generations. This was done with the expectation that, yes, future technology and techniques would gain better results. Such an approach was common on sites far less fascinating than GT, because as everyone (but your guest, apparently) knows that a dig is destructive - you destroy the site in order to explore it. To wait is legit.

The mystery behind these ancient sites is likely the key to unlocking not just knowledge of our past, but also likely knowledge about our future if interpreted correctly. These werent just caveman with no knowledge, they had clear knowledge of astronomy, and a very clear interpretation of their surroundings, as well as great architectural engineering. Knowing persicesly how these great works were constructed would give us great insight even today. Im not saying some grand truth will come clear . But we absolutely should not hinder archeological progress just like we shouldnt hinder our progress in space.

The giant "T" represents human progression from the ground-up to a point in time now before us. To the Left will be more pain and suffering. To the Right will be Peace for one-thousand years. The Egyptian Anhk has a zero "0" on top of the "T" that has a separate meaning. The "0" represents the beginning/end of everything. It also represents the "Eye of Horus" looking down from the pyramid at Giza. It also represents the numbering system. Together these two form the famous Egyptian Anhk. ♀️

@@sisigs4820 I don't, I just know that nothing about this is unusual for this type of discoveries. For instance no one dares to open the tomb of China's First Emperor. And not all parts of Pompeii and Herculanum are excavated. First of all, because the amount of stuff you can excavate in a rich site can take decades to study, and second of all because it's not just "let's dig here". It's a slow costly process, and once you do it you also have to procure the finance for storing in perfect temperature-light-humidity conditions. It's not just a one time investment, it's a continous investment, and archeology just doesn't have as much funding as you might think. So they tend to take it step by step, let's see what we can find and learn from this part, and then if we get funding for/from a museum and a lab we move to the next part, and so for. Also, the current protection of historical artifacts can complicate things. Before europe would just steal and take them to their countries, now countries are more protective of their historical artifacts, but that also means you're more dependent on getting investment for facilities in poorer countries. It's not that I am enlightened, it's just that they don't know the field they're talking about, it's a simple as that.

Gobekli Tepe and the other similar ancient sites do not prove "an ancient lost civilisation" (yet). But certainly they proved that the history was interpreted wrongly. This is because of the weakness of the scientists. And that weaknes is relying on material evidence too much. Archeologists and all other scientists want solid materialistic evidences. And time is against this need. Only certain materials in certain conditions last long. Because of this, we can find lots of things which belonged to the cultures who worked with stone, had a dry climate like Egypt. So we can find so much things from ancient Egypt or Rome because of the materials they used were long lasting. But we can't find lots of things of the ancient people who used biologic materials like wood, animal skin etc. I think, before Gobekli Tepe there were people who had a hunter-gatherer or pastoralist life style with a great knowledge and abilities. Modern science underestimates the people with hunter-gatherer life style. I think some of those ancient hunter gatherers had achieved great successes. And after a while some of them decided to use long lasting materials to build things. So by the time they created sites like Gobekli Tepe. When you accept the fact that hunter gatherers, pastoralists, nomads can achieve big things; you realize that Gobekli Tepe etc. are not so incomprehensible things.

They want a tourist trap, not an archaeological site. It's not that deep of a conspiracy.

Also the problem is the cost of preservation, not the excavations itself. It would be ginormous! Once you uncover a site from underground it starts to erode super quickly and you have to constantly preserve it. Underground it is safe for millenia. That’s why currently there is a policy among heritage protection bodies not to uncover things “just for the fun of it”, cause we lost many precious sites this way before. If there is no legitimate interests and long-term plan for funding of preservation, you only uncover what you can keep up. The guy only sees conspiracy theories, not understanding the wider context of the thing. Geobekli Tepe is nowhere unique in not being excevated, probably even it’s less excavated because it’s so precious! The Turkish Government would have to secure enourmous funda every year for the preservation, and lets be honest, it’s not going to bring in money like the Akropol in Greece, not a very touristy site or location.

They could easily get donations. Tourism would boom if they found new structures or were able to discern more facts from their findings. Also, why 150 years? What do they know that we don’t? Is that when the curse will expire?

14:20 Why would Muslims not want Noah's ark to be corroborated? Who's going to tell this guy that the story of Noah is in the Quran? Lol
@williamslater-vf5ym

The idea that it has anything to do with Noah's ark is conjecture to begin with. Also, he is thinking of when isis and other groups were destroying ancient artifacts and statues. But that was pagan stuff. I don't think they have a problem with anything from an abrahamic religion, for the most part. I have a wacky personal theory. The site was buried deliberately. I think there could be an ancient cult behind the scenes in Turkey that wants this site, and others like it to stay buried.

Right, Islam is an Abrahamic faith, they absolutely share those Old Testament stories with Christians and Jews. I'm kind of shocked that Jimmy doesn't know this. I pointed this out on one of his videos where he said this a few months ago.

I love jimmy. I follow his channel. Damn if he isn’t slightly annoying in a tiny arrogant kinda way I suppose. I’m not sure really. I appreciate how amazing Joe is by carrying on conversations even when it’s between a heavy talker like jimmy and myself honestly. Simply pivoting and going back to previous topics is what makes these interactions whole. The guests are the meat but Joe is always the necessary and important taters. Also Jammie* is the veggies we all need and completion of the circle.

As muslims we believe that moses and jesus are prophets of god they've been given the torah and injeel and that there are still parts of those books in the bible, so if the bible is accurate in something, that won't shake the belief of the muslims. Plus we have a whole chapter in the quran named after Noah and within it there's the story of the flud and the arc.

The bit about Turkey (an Islamic State) withholding excavation because it would prove a Christian Bible story right is grossly incorrect. Nuh (pbuh) or Noah is a prophet in the Quran and his story is elaborated and believed by Muslims. In that theory Turkey would want to expedite excavation to prove a story of our prophet right
