no. its a thing called mediation. basically both parties agree that the "judge" has complete ruling and whatever they say is absolute and final. the judge solves disputes. its cheaper and quicker than actual civil court. TV court can be over and done with in 4-5 days from submitting case to filming. civil court can take months or even years depending on complexity.

The first two guys were so genuine. Tenant was going through a terrible time and that’s understandable with a sick wife, but the landlord should not have to pay $25,000 because of what is going on in someone else’s life. I’m glad things turned out the way they did because honestly in the end, the landlord did his friend a favor by bringing him to judge faith and crunching it all down to 5K.

Because they're friends? My family is still friends with my first ex, as am I. Just because we're no longer together doesn't mean we don't still care about one another as friends & that we don't care about each others well-being. If he called & needed money for something important & I had it to give, I would. But, I also wouldn't expect any if it back. My rule of thumb is that when you give money to friends or family, don't expect it back, if you get it back - any amount of it - you thank them for it & keep going. Expecting it back just leads to problems like this. If you can't afford to give it & not put yourself in a bad spot, then you just say "sorry, I can't help out, if I can do anything else, let me know, but money wise, I can't."

If the limit is 5 grand why do people go on for 25 grand. Makes zero sense. Someone explain this to me!!!
@meltinginmocha1032
@meltinginmocha1032 4 жыл бұрын
My thinking is that there are two good reasons: 1. To deliver an accurate account of the details and amounts; and 2. The judge rarely awards the full amounts the plaintiffs request. So, if I only ask for five grand due to that being the limit, I risk getting a judgement for less than that amount. But if I list everything and ask for twenty-five grand, even if certain items are dismissed or reduced, I stand a good chance of being awarded the full five thousand.
