I like this Judge most of the time, and she was fair, but her opining on guns was annoying and unnecessary. We get it. You don’t like guns. No one needs to hear it, and the law is crystal clear. You are there to follow precedent and uphold the law. She reveals a bias against the defendant by all but telling him that he is in the wrong for wanting his property back and exercising his constitutional rights. Also, she is clearly salivating at the idea of Prosecution digging up any scrap of case law she can twist to deny the defendant of his lawful possessions. Frustrating to say the least, but at least she ended at the right decision. (Also her simply shrugging at the $$ value of these weapons in the couple of thousands like it’s nothing is again annoying to say the VERY minimum.)

@@sandboxplayerz667 yes it is her problem to be unbiased. That is her only problem actually. To be an unbiased defender of the law she took an oath to uphold. If she can’t separate her own personal views from what the law dictates and the rights he and everyone else is entitled to then that’s a serious problem. Yes, he’s worried about getting his personal property back which he is absolutely entitled to under the constitution. I would imagine most people including yourself don’t enjoy confiscation. I’m Not sure what other states you are referring to where you can be stripped of your ownership rights without being convicted of a crime, but you may be right I frankly don’t know. If what you say is true that sounds like an unconstitutional law. You should be convicted before losing any rights or liberties guns or not in my precious view. As to how I would feel about something happening to me personally, that’s anecdotal, but yes of course I would be upset if I were wronged. You hear countless times Judge Boyd say that while talking to a defendant. This has nothing to do with constitution. So, let's get that straight. @@sandboxplayerz667 Yes, she did put her bias aside and ruled correctly. I acknowledge that in the original comment. My issue was her inability to keep her bias to herself. In this particular case he was entitled to his guns. Even if it’s not a constitutional issue, disagree to disagree on that point I suppose, her inability to keep her bias to herself is a problem and speaks to a difficulty of separating her personal views from the case and remain impartial.
