The FL v. Anthony Todt Trial came to an end on Thursday. The Physical Therapist was on trial for allegedly murdering his family and was found guilty on all charges by the jury. Judge Keith Carsten threw the book at Todt with multiple life sentences for the murder of his wife, three kids, and family dog.
A man is on trial for allegedly murdering his wife and kids, and killing the family dog. Anthony Todt, 44, stands trial in Osceola County, Florida. Opening statements are scheduled to begin Monday, April 11, at 9 am ET.
Todt, a physical therapist who worked in Connecticut and lived in the Sunshine State, allegedly killed wife Megan Todt, 42, as well as their three children Alec Todt, 13, Tyler Todt, 11, and Zoe Todt, 4. He even slew the family dog Breezy.
Federal authorities had been seeking him at the time, saying he charged Medicaid for unworked hours. Naturally, a fraud case pales in comparison to the grisly state prosecution for four counts of first-degree murder, and one count of cruelty to animals. With that in mind, federal prosecutors filed a motion to dismiss without prejudice because they did not want to stand in the way of Florida officials. They can refile later.
The family also faced eviction from their home in a case filed Dec. 22, 2019, just weeks before deputies found defendant Todt at the residence with the bodies.

Anthony Todt.
Investigators say Anthony Todt confessed to the killings in interviews shortly after his arrest. Though a judge suppressed an early portion of that because a detective failed to give a proper Miranda warning, the admission of guilt is ultimately making it to trial because Todt allegedly kept on talking to authorities, repeating the confession in a follow-up interview.
Associate Medical Examiner Jennifer Nara found the deaths to be homicide, though she could not determine “the exact mechanism of death,” and had to rely on the alleged confession and other circumstances in her decision.
Defendant Todt walked back that confession. He blamed his wife for the killings in a letter to his father, according to the document obtained by The Orlando Sentinel from the prosecutor’s office.

I am so glad the judge said, "And for the murder of the family dog, Breezy, I sentence you to one year, the maximum allowed," instead of "For the animal cruelty I sentence you to a year." In all the footage of the trial he made his wife out to be an unhinged invalid who thought the end times were coming. She had arrythmia ( irregular heartbeat) & hyper thyroidism which are v v treatable & according to him, 'exacerbations' (handy strategic vagueness tactic) from having had Lyme Disease years ago. Yet this lady says she's active with the school, goes to lunch, days out etc. Every single answer he gave turned into a rambling rant about how great he was & how unhinged she was: & when repeatedly asked to keep answers concise he got absolutely furious & sarcastic. He killed them because he was being investigated for massive financial fraud , claiming health insurance payments for treatments he hadn't given.

They are just words to narcissistic psychopaths. If you think about it 'my everything' is simple, short and used by these types of men because they convey no feeling or detail. How can someone describe how they love someone when they can't. I'm sure if someone asked them how they love themselves, they could detail and describe it perfectly.

@@craigfinnegan8534 So true, but I think context is important and the context here is that these men who killed heir families are now trying to get away with murder in the courtroom. Their reasons for making such dramatic statements aren't because they believe them. Killers often make these statements, and it's always to deceive the people prosecuting them for their crimes. I tend to believe that most people who make that claim under different circumstances probably mean it in the way we imagine they should.

Megan was my neighbor from the time I was born until her and Tony met, went to college and moved. Her mother is still alive but is a complete nut job. I mean, known around our area as the scariest, meanest, worst teacher in the history of our school system. I could always hear her yelling at Al and Megan from our house. She drove her husband who was my dads best friend to hang himself… she drove Megan and Tony to Florida… and she didn’t even surface when this happened. Tony and Megan helped me out after I got really sick in 2018. They were always amazing people and this was a huge shock to his professional community and her friends. Megan was the most polite, loving, talented person. An amazing tennis player, and the best babysitter and friend a neighbor could have. I can’t speak for the kids, they had moved prior to having them. But I grew up with Megan, she walked me to and from the house/bus stop every day for 10 years…. I’m sorry Megan…………. I am so so sorry. Worst of all, three innocent children’s lives were cut short. What an absolute monster you are Tony.

Sad… My ex wife broke my heart when she out of the blue said she fell out of love, and wanted to meet and date other men… I cried all night, then woke up the next morning, and gave her a kiss on the cheek, and told her that I would still be the best father ever for our kids, and I wish her happiness for the rest of her life… Years later, we are both very happy and with another partner. Our kids split their time between us, and are doing very good. Happy and healthy. They opened up, and said they were miserable when we were together as they knew we were not happy… Wow… Moral of the story: If someone falls out of love, MOVE ON… Please… Life gets better.. If you try to stay and it is not working, the kids suffer as well. MOVE ON!

Omg his fkn rambling statement addressing the court was so hard to listen to. We heard ALL of that in the trial in your testimony on direct. Even his lawyer was like “the judge can’t overturn the verdict” “this is not helping you” The judge literally CANNOT take into account deniability at that point. Addressing the court post-verdict is only to convey remorse to be considered by the judge for sentencing. If you’re not remorseful or still maintain innocence, do not address the court. It’s not mandatory and truly does hurt you because remorse/lack of, has an impact on the sentence.

Yes, why the dog? Poor thing didn't know what was going on and died with fear. Did he think the dog was going to snitch? This man is pure evil- of course living w your family that long after you took their lives is evil in it's purest form. I hope the family and loved ones get peace knowing he's in prison till he's dead- but I'd rather have my taxes go elsewhere.. in this case I'll pay in full for the death penalty. (I thought they could sentence the death penalty in FL- from what I'm getting from the monster Nicholas Cruz's case?) I'm not exactly sure what state they are in in this video- I didn't listen very well)
