I wonder how many of Judith's fans are unaware of or maybe just simply unable to appreciate her amazing talent in this genre. View numbers just don't seem to reflect the brilliance that I'm hearing. This was her passion and we are so incredibly lucky that she pursued her wonderful dream! I occasionally read comments lamenting Judith's departure from the Seekers in 1968, whereas I celebrate it and the creative bounty that it produced and many of us thoroughly enjoy. When the Seekers reunited they did so with an amazingly fresh new vigour and a renewed affection within the group that essentially sealed the deal forever and in the process gave us some of their very best work....ever!

She was not only a first-rate JAZZ songstress but, possessing a well trained and beautiful voice with astounding range could sing anything to perfection!Lovely girl!

I have heard her do a bit in an operatic style. She considered going in that direction, just as she considered being a concert pianist.

I began listening to Judith Durham accompanying a rather alcoholic Melbourne jazz band when she was a teenager as was I. She was always what they called a 'belter' and could overpower the band at times. Her sister is just about as good.
What a pressure in that voice. She dont need a mic. I was looking for Cake Walking Babies and found Judith Durham. Never Heard of her Before. Now Im in love.

Great voice. She sang in a lot of different idioms - but this is what she did best - greatest trad jazz singer of her era.

I first heard this song only a few years ago while watching my box set of DVDs of the Benny Hill Show. At the time, it was just another musical guest performance to me. But when I watched it again some time later. I realized that I really enjoyed the song and I was very impressed with Judith. I'm glad to find her music on the Internet from time to time. I love her stuff. Wonderful voice and talent.

That’s where I first saw her too, the Benny Hill Box set. He had some good guest musicians on his show. I also liked the girl who sang the song “I don’t know how to love him”- I think her name was Sylvia McNeill.

The photo is of the Turk Murphy Band from San Francisco with Woody Allen as guest star. Was the band on this recording that of Turk or an Australian Jazz Band? This is from her CD titled "The Hottest Band in Town-Vol.1". I have Vol.2 of these recordings...Anyone want to trade? Judith still can sing and she will be 69 this July......What a glorious voice!

This isn't the seekers but Frank Trayner's Jazz Preachers, an Australian band. Judith Durham was good enough to be head and shoulders above the rest of the 'pop' world in her day.
