Lots, master break falling before you do randori, master the skills of judo before doing randori, go with people who can control themselves. Consider privates, watch a bunch of my videos and ask me more questions as you go about it.

I appreciate very much your content. Here I have to disagree with you since I'm sure that the judocas in the + category are not in the BMI and they still can do judo. Same with overweight people, they have to start judo, learn ukemi, throwing, newaza, develop endurance, strength and mobility and they can do randori.

What exactly do you disagree with? 🤔, i never said overweight people cant do judo, and if you’re a heavyweight it depends on how much muscle you have vs fat, if you’re overfat you’re not healthy period, doesnt matter that you’re in the heavyweoght division, were talking about health here not just the ability to perform at a high level.

@OGFITNESS I don't trust the BMI indicator. According to this, I was always overweight or even obese during my lifetime. I'm 176 cm and 90 kg and I practiced some sports almost all of my life.

@@SabinRomocean bodyfat vs muscle is ultimately whats important, 25% bf + is obese, obese is not healthy, period, doesnt matter how athletic you were or are, high blood pressure puts you at risk of many things.

I started judo weighing 275lb with 25% body fat, tested with skin caliper I had too much fat, but much more muscle than 99% and was an active competitive lifter who still did cardio In my case it worked for me, I did randori right away. But, If someone is not athletic and mostly just fat, I think this is spot on. If I had to do it all over again? I'd probably not do as much randori early on, but I trusted my coaches. They felt I was athletic enough to go right in, but always advised caution. Despite my size, I was and am very much a safe partner and pride myself as such. I don't do anything carelessly and try my best to use technique rather than muscling through movements I'm now over 40lb lighter, haven't tested my body fat in a while, but much leaner. I agree that it feels much better during randori. I feel so much fitter, still strong and falling is easier Good video and I do agree with it Get healthy

Are there ways of doing light randori? That you can do as a beginner workout picking up injuries or getting slammed hard on the mats. For example in boxing I do lots of touch sparing and body only sparing which is very similar to hard sparring but without the headaches. And it's also something I can do with complete beginners.

Yes absolutely, id call it play randori, its actually done with guys at a higher level who ate a bit older lots of times. If you’re a beginner though you have to find someone who outclasses you, knows it and lets you work and it cool about it. Theres guys like that, just have to spot them.

@@OGFITNESS thanks for the advice. I'll look up 'play randori '

@@Fury851 you most likely wont find anything, i made that up.

@@OGFITNESS haha I thought so. Cause I wrote it in KZbin but nothing came up. Judo is tough to learn cause it's all about doing classes. Other combat sports you learn a lot outside of classes by meeting up with friends to train. Judo is very difficult in this regard

@@Fury851 you cant pick up judo without an advance player and mats unfortunately.
