I respect the types of squats Clarence performs. I have severe osteoarthritis in my left knee and my right knee is following close behind. The one thing that truly helps my knees are deep, paused squats. Can't push too explosively with my left leg because of the mechanical damage which cannot be helped at this point but I've managed to get a PR of 130kg just recently. Not much, I know, but I've really gotten a passion for squatting.

@forthejourney95377 жыл бұрын
Juji, with that hip shift at the bottom of Clarence' squat, try to flair your "knees out" when driving back up.. what your seeing is actually the glute produce torque to drive out of the bottom to extension of the hip. So instead of placing emphasis on moving the hips forward, drive the knees out. Record it also to see if that works. Just my 2 cents as I'm sure people may or may not agree.

Also, Juji, I don't know if it's gone over in the video yet, but have you tried widening your grip on the clean a bit? It may reduce the ball-crushing factor, as well as make the second pull easier by reducing horizontal force from bumping the bar with your thighs, since the bar would be higher up.

nope, good thing to try though
