It does seem stupid at surface level but in the book it was meant to show how easily newborn vampires can lose control of their emotions and turn violent over trivial things. Was also done to be darkly comedic because Bella literally tried to rip Jacob’s throat out for nicknaming her daughter after a fictional beast.

Well there's 2 ways. 1) You thought Taylor Lautner was hot and that's pretty much it. 2) You read the books and you like the character, specially pre-wolf Jacob (this is me) but I realize that movie Jacob has nothing going on for him. Also back then I found Edward too boring of a character. Edward is not interesting and has no personality besides being a vampire but Jacob was awesome without being a werewolf, I guess that was my logic lmao But even back then I knew they should not have ended up together, Bella's relationship with both guys was really toxic and Bella should have ended up going to a good therapist The End.
