After a night of fun on the streets of downtown Korea, the special 20s cleaners clean up the mess

Korea has a lot of places to hang out at night, and 20-somethings enjoy those nights, but there's a young man in his 20s who makes a good living cleaning up the streets. Even though it was 20 years ago, there are still young people in Korean society who make a good living. I wonder how they are living now.

Thunderous applause and an ocean of gratitude to the street sweepers, rubbish collectors, public space cleaners internationally. You all should be paid the most and receive tips. I couldn't do that job. I moan with housework. Without you, we'd be living in filth. Thank you all.

Working as a sweeper, and rubbish collector are decent job. DO NOT LOOK DOWN ON THEM. We, as a community, should show appreciation and give lots of praise AND THUMBS UP to these wonderful individuals. Without them, our surroundings wouldn't stay clean and nice. It's important for young people and everyone to be well-behaved and not throw trash during events or in public spaces. We should also feel empathy for those who work hard to keep our environment clean.

it might seem to others like sourgraping, but i honestly think the older brother is better off without such a petty-minded woman who thinks lowly of him. for goodness sake, the man is taking the responsibility to get himself through school and get a college degree while also being a good son and older brother. someone who can't see the value of that level of determination and pro-activeness isn't worth being worried over. there's something wrong with any society that totally belittles such work and the people who do it. why don't they try living their lives without the streetsweepers and see how great their city and country would be then?!

The older brother is at school. The younger brother had the family. Can't tell the eldest sibling not to help their younger siblings if parents teach sharing. That's internationally. The difference is Koreans don't get government education, financial or housing support.

I agree. Why get married at such an early age when the wife wants her husband to work at office. She should at least be grateful that her husband has worked enough to support the family regardless of how dirty and tiresome the work is. Ungrateful women. That must be the reason why the elder brother said, "Apart from his younger bro wife, he loves his niece"

I hope this family received some kind of payment for doing this show. Such a hard working, disciplined family, I hope they are doing well. It makes me appreciate what we have in my country, all 65s and over receive a benefit from the government and can still work. I would hate my parents to still have to work this hard to make a living. I wish the sons all the best for the future. God look over this family.

Visited Seoul for the first time 3 weeks ago. First thing I noticed was how clean the city streets and subways were! I was so astonished how the city is so clean and watching this video gave the answer. You can hear how proud they are doing this for a living and it shows! Applause and respect for this family and for their fellow co-workers in keeping South Korea beautiful! I am definitely going back again . ❤

This is from June 2004. I noticed the calendar date during a close-up shot. I don’t know why I thought it was from an earlier year in the late 90s or very early 00s. I guess I’m shocked because I vividly remember 2004 still. Little Yoo-Bin must be in her late teens or early twenties now! I wonder how everyone is doing. Unfortunately here in the states they stopped cleaning the streets in most cities. They just don't think that having clean streets is worth enough in the budgets. The people's attitude on making the cities as nice as possible in Korea is amazing and I wish more where like that here. I was amazed while visiting in the fall that everyone was sweeping up the beautiful fall leaves off the sidewalks in the mornings!

Community helpers. That's who they are, and their job is invaluable to the public. It's just not right to be blamed for being late for an "off-schedule" duty. The supervisor should have given them some slack; imagine it's night and they'll still do a morning shift in a few hours! Anyway, this was years past, I wonder how this family is doing in 2023. A lot of respect for them. They are all hardworking men. I like that the other brother persevered and continued his education inspite of putting a full days worth of work already. As for the second son, he is very hardworking also. I love that he is going to have 2 children. South Koreans have low birthrate so that's good to hear... They need to sleep more though. I hope they will not continue this pace. It will be hard for their health as they grow older. The wife could help by vlogging... As for the blind date, it's understandable that the girl is not that impressed because of his job but he is also studying. He is working for a brighter future. At least he is responsible! On the other hand, the people needs more discipline. They should not only rely on the garbage sweepers. They should learn where to SEGREGATE and put their garbage properly. It's about dicipline... I'm bothered that the cans are not recycled or the plastic and other perisheables are just placed in same container. I hope they will be able to put segregated bins for the people to throw in like in North America.

I used to work as a cleaner, while I attended a good night college and I also got up early, did my job, went home for an hour to eat and prepare myself to travel two hours forward and back by train. There is no shame to do a labor job. It's society which doesn't pay enough respect for that kind of hard work. I totally understand, where they come from. And that daughter of his is sooo gorgeous! His wife should stop that nitpicking and instead keep supporting him. Why does she have to start a discussion right after work and in front of the toddler? That should not happen. It's unfair and it is not like he is a lazy slacker. I wish you all the best to achieve your goals. Namaste from Germany.

The wife complain about her husband working in dirty clothes and not working in clean offices. But speaking from an older persons point of view. I'm almost 50. An office job is something most can do and don't mind doing. However, a job like street cleaner is not what most can and willing to do. It takes a resilient hard working kind of man, to be willing to do this kind of job. The lack of sleep, the biased looks he gets from ppl. I think these brothers ability to work a incredibly hard job like thus defines how mentally and physically strong they are at such a young age. Their will and their sacrifices of sleep in order to bring money in for family is courageous and worth admiring.

Don’t they have litter laws in Korea? The streets look like there is a homeless encampment… people need to throw trash in the correct places, it’ll make the job more easier for the clean-up crew.

What’s with his wife?? Telling the little kid to not speak to her father. Preceding to start a fight, in front of the kid, because she doesn’t approve of his job? Being jealous of her friend’s husband? WTF! That kid loves her daddy! Couldn’t look at her reaction watching her awful mother scold dad over BS and watching dad get angry! That sh leaves marks! Fkn hell that b made me angry too… I hope that kid and her father (and his brother and immediate family) are doing OK today. I don’t give a shit about the awful wifi…unless she built up a spine and character. Ffs!

Really hope that Korea improves the working conditions for their people. They need higher wages, so they don't have to work 2 jobs. 2 hours of sleep per day is not sufficient.
