K24 Timing Chain, 50° VTC and Oil Pump Upgrade | K24 DC5

Firstly, I'd like to apologise for this video being very choppy with missing bits. This job happened over multiple days and my camera would die out without me knowing. What's not included is the very specific stuff such as the whole oil pump install and timing the motor. This video is not a guide, but more of a 'thread' or update so its known what work has been done on this K24.
In this video, I get my hands dirty and explode my brain on trying to figure this all out. I started this job without the right tools so I obviously ended up with alot of roadblocks. Eventually, all the work was done and we now have an internally ready K24A3. The motor is back together! By all means, I would not recommend this video as a guide, more as a companion to let you know how difficult it was for me. YOU WILL NEED A HEAVY DUTY IMPACT FOR THE CRANK BOLT!!!

Did you plug the oil passage in bottom of block since you are putting k20 pump on k24? That wasn't mentioned in your video. Also, when you are installing the tensioner, you don't pull the pin out until its installed. Sounds like you had trouble because it was pulled before you installed it making you have to go through trouble of putting pin back in.

Yes, the passage was blocked off, mentioned in description. Yep you're right, when the part came I pulled the pin out without checking the process.

Can you rev it to 8000 with stock valve springs?

With a completely stock motor, I don't think so. The factory oil pump does not flow enough to support a higher rev limit. However, I believe its possible with an upgraded oil pump. We're gonna see how high we can rev it, then set it to max safe for longevity.
