Kage! FREE WOOD STORAGE: To the left, as you walk into the storage area, there's a post sticking up from the floor. That is space for you to store logs behind. The post is to stop them rolling away. So if you're carrying 10 logs, you can drop what looks like 1 log in there, but it only takes up the space of 1 physical log. All those logs that you rolled down the hill could go there. Not sure if NPC's can use them, but it's a massive storage area for spare logs. Looks cool too. Same goes for the little rooms in there. You can drop your straw or whatever, without using up inventory space. Hard to explain. TLDR ;)

21:30 To transport logs in former times, lumberjacks in Germany in the Black Forest built wooden chutes to let the logs slide down the hills in winter, when the chutes were frozen. Then they built dams in small rivers, tied the logs together to form small rafts and waited for the snow to smelt. With enough water, they tore down the dams to let the water carry the rafts into bigger rivers like the river Rhine. There, they tied the logs into big rafts, where you could live on, and sailed down the river to the Netherlands, where they sold the wood. Then, they had to march several hundreds of miles back home, only carrying a few iron parts they needed for the next raftings.

Kietze is correct they say berry, but when you pick them in spring they are unripe berries not just plain berries. So you cant use them for Recipes or Quests.

NPCs will still buy unripe berries at 1g each. The same price as ripe berries. Each group of bushes is worth about 200g. You can carry at most about 400g worth of berries with no equipment.

loggers and charcoalers often used to work riverside for two reasons.. yes to float logs down to town and the trees near rivers tended to be rather firm.

High level clothing such as Tunics are by far the most expensive items in game, along with high end tools and weapons. Always have your Hunting Lodge set to "gathering" in Summer, as the repeating quests require Berries, and sometimes Mushrooms - DO NOT put the into Food Storage = Leave them in the Hunting Lodge storage. Change (destroy the wall, then 'e' for edit) your house walls to stone - one wall at a time - To make your villagers happier, and to use WAY less wood in winter (you'll have to re-assign the "homeless" ones each time you 'complete' the building again.

another tip for money making iron arrows is much worth to craft and sell cause you craft 50 at a time, the weight of it is not issue at all and sell for a good price and cost only 10 iron and 10 sticks just be sure you craft it not your workers cause if its your workers they only craft 1 at a time with the same cost and in my gameplay they sell for 600 per 50 arrows its much worth it than the scythes I believe anyways loving the series keep it up man :D

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet. But the woodshed is supposed to be built in the forest. The workers can only chop wood within a specific radius of the shed. Tier 1 is 50 meters, tier 2 is 100 meters, and so on... So having it in town severely limits the amount of wood they can harvest, if they can only reach a few on the outskirts of town. 🤷‍♂️ Thought you'd like to know.

Hey Kage, this is my first comment but thanks for the awesome videos. I bought this game because of your videos and I am loving it so far. A quick tip, you shouldn't plant wheat in autumn, it ties up your fields for 3 seasons. What I have also found is that the cabbage to make potage is really heavy, It takes up a lot of space in your food storage, I will compare it with the carrots when I get a chance. Also, if you look at the vendors that sell clothes, the tunic goes for a lot of money so it may be worth crafting those but they require wool. So far the best value I have found for flax is selling the seeds and using the stems to make linen fabric and sell that. It takes 10 flax stems (20 gold) to make 1 linen fabric (28 gold).

I used to live near a "river of logs". Log transport, old fashioned way. They stopped doing this in the 90s, logs sinking at the bottom is bad pollution.

This is a good idea. I used it often when collecting lumber and ton of berry. But to have an overall speed it’s best to place storage next to unstuck area. So when I am fully encumbered I click unstuck and drop half stuff and put rest in storage and walk back to the other half.

Build a 2nd Resource storage outside the mine, the 2 buildings link together AND will double your storage space. Drop the rocks, salt & iron in and it's accessible in the city. Don't need to pull the end of season trick. Plus you can drop any food/tools you need and they will be at the mine too

I make tons of gold using the Hunter's Lodge + Cabbage Field + Tavern to make a load of Potage. Big field of cabbage can be planted in spring, harvested in summer, then replanted in summer and harvested again in autumn. Hunter's Lodge and my own hunting activities takes care of the meat I need. Then leave the Tavern to convert it all into Potage, which sells for 14g each. And watch the bucks roll in!

So here is my break down. First of all I would do Iron Arrows, Cost of Raw goods 50g sell for 350g (They weigh .25 also so you can carry about 7,000 Arrows that would sell for 49,000g and still not be encumbered) If you cant do them Iron Hammer Cost of Raw goods 9g sell for 70g but weigh 1/2 of Scythe so you can carry more. With your Leather turn them in Simple Bag Cost of Raw goods 6g sell for 11g (Skill up also), Lastly since I still have someone on Exac and Woodshed I still make Stone Knives to burn up free resources. Lastly people say Flax cause 10 Flax turns into 1 Linen Thread turns into 1 Linen Cloth that sells for 28g and weights .1 so you can carry about 350 of them which sells for 9,800g and still not be encumbered.

@@rtorbs Why would you run around with Iron, build a Resource Building next to the Mine or do like the episode and wait till last day of the season and get an auto teleport, or let your people mine it for you. Say your taxes are 2,000g then if you get 60 Iron and 60 Sticks you can make 300 Iron Arrows and that weighs 1 1/2kg If you have 35 or 40 (with perk) you cant spare 1 and 1/2?

Potage is definitely the best as you can grow 2 crops of cabbage a year and hunting is not an issue. I can get 80 meat easy in a day. I have no checked the price of the oat cakes or pies yet, but I started over (bugged quests and taxes). Look at iron hammers too. I think they take 2 iron and sticks, but I am not sure about the selling price. Sticks are far easier to collect than trees. You need to literally stockpile EVERYTHING for quests. They need to tell you exactly what they want before you choose to do the quest. I had one that asked for a bow, but it turned out to be a recurve bow. All you really need is a 4x4 farm of cabbage to feed the village). Make the leather into bags for the experience and sell them. I try not to sell raw materiel unless it uses something too valuable. Put the wood shed in the woods, then the person working the storage will go collect it. Does the wood sheds share their inventory like the general storage does?

It's a little cheesy, but having a resource storage built near the mine is a huge boon. They share all storage so no need to ever access the mine one unless you are putting stone/salt/iron in. Yes logs in the river (log flume). Logjam term came from that. Sprayed mercury on the logs to keep the algae off. Fish ate the algae with the mecury and yay! Mercury in fish. And a giant mutated bear for the movie prophecy (old movie, lots of movies called prophecy)

I too am looking for ways to maximize my workers productivity... but only for the betterment of the colony with the pledge that all profits will go towards a better life for all of my serfs. I will of course retain a modest amount for my time compensation, expenses, etc.

potage and stew are virtually the same, stew takes more materials but you get more carrots from a harvest than cabbage so it balances out, i like potage because you can plant cabbage in the spring then harvest and replant it in the summer

You don't even have to sleep. If you wait you will be eventually teleported upon season change. My character has never slept. If the teleport does get fixed there is a simple fix. Just put the blacksmith next to the cave entrance.

Just put a resource storage at the mine entrance as close as you can, they share chests and the added benefit is you don't need to run all the way back to your town if you need something from it and visa versa. Storage sheds should not be built close to each other or at least I wouldn't. I'd have them scattered all over the map in convenient locations. I built a storage building right near the unstuck spawn point so anywhere on the map I can overload myself and go right to the storage and drop off. I also built my town within one sprint distance away from the spawn point. so much easier to travel.

I think you have to the end of a season to complete quests, so take them at the start of a season. I had one he wanted to fix his house and needed 20 logs & 21 daub. I got the logs but he wouldn't accept a partial load and no one can carry 20 logs at once. And I had no clay to make daub and could not find any to buy. Yes, be very careful with side quests!!

Kage - I think you might be going to the facility tab to manage the people. I think if you go to the people tab you can manage the facility and then you don’t have to put people on new buildings to be able to assign them back. I think.

Hell, I realy realy like this series. Sadly I just found it. I find his way of thinking hillarious, but in the most positive way. He has already 7 buildings who need workers, but only 3 Houses (5 Workers). His building limit is 10/12. He has like 300 stones and 150 logs laying around, but what does he build? Another resource storage. I dont know why, but I cant stop laughing. This is so great! I never thought of that! 😅

You have to have workers with the best skill in the right job. I used a worker with skill of 4 and one of 5 in the sewing and the one with skill 5 out produced the other by 3 times!

I see people saying what tool sells for the best. But iron arrows use 10 iron ore and 10 sticks for 50. You make 700 gold per 100 arrows making it the most profit for your time.

You should build another house, especially if you want to get more people, also think about upgrading the Woman House to Stone or build the new one out of stone and move her there then new people start in the wattle one. Also it might be more effective if you have a villager sewer instead of you, maybe the villagers will wear the better clothes but I think you will need sheep first to get wool.

Don't make scythes or pickaxe make Iron hammers!!!!! They are cheaper to make than any other Iron tool and don't sell for much less you get much more out of your resources that way. Example: pickaxe is 4 Iron and 1 log and sells for 77g. The hammers is 2 Iron and 1 stick and sells for 70g

Wood shovels seem to be a good money maker. Takes 2 logs to build. Each log vendors for 1 gold and 1 shovel vendors for 18 gold, so 16 gold profit on materials

1. So I pick 50 Berries in Summer and save them in my Tavern. So no matter what Season I have Berries, there are a few that need them.

Totally up to you, but I do this trick to Maximize my In-Game time but it takes a little longer Out of Game. Beginning of each season, I Quick Save then run to each town finding quest and what they need and checking the new people to see if they are any good. Then I load up the QuickSave gather up from Storage all the stuff for all the quests. Run around and do them and Get people if need be.

My way to make money: have a field with cabbage (field worker handles that) and get meat (hunter handles that) and cook potage. I made a couple of hundred portions and emptied out 3 traders for gold. I don't have a cook yet, is why I cooked it myself.

Tavern makes the food for your villager' so you dont have too, long as your farm brings in the veg and hunter the meats and woodman bring in wood for fire. So you can have the village fully automated. You just have to pay the taxes and repairs.

With the build hammer, can you upgrade a type 1 building into a type 2 building? Also I am wondering if you upgrade their homes (even if it is from thatch to stone or wood, or from type 1 to 2) if it improves their happiness?

I had a spring berry quest too. I gave them the un ripe berries and the quest completed. So if they want poison berries they get poison berries lol.

Yes it did happen to you, early in this series, the fist time you slept at a camp fire you woke in your house.

I can do all the farming myself so quickly I don't even bother with workers on the farming. I will process the wheat rye and fiber before i go to bed.
