You can actually combo Mystic Reflection with Rise of the Dread Marn in response to a board wipe. Mystic Reflection just says next time ... this turn, so you can flip the Mystic Reflection and target a creature, then let the board wipe resolve, and then flip the Rise of the Dread Marn that now causes zombies to enter equal to the number of creatures that died, but since this is the next instance of creatures entering the battlefield this turn, they will instead enter as whatever you targeted before the board wipe

wait so if it is next time this turn then you can hijack this trigger if you can instant speed a creature onto board? after reflection resolves but before its effect gets triggered you can flash something in or create a token or something as response to reflection's "owner" creating creatures. so last game knights after jacob cast reflection in response to koma creating serpents someone could've flashed in a creature after reflection resolved but before koma's trigger did and they would get avenger instead of jacob. this also means if someone uses reflection to "nerf" your creature you can play around this in similar way. obviously only if you have a way to get creatures on board in response (instant speed)

The main advantage for realmwalker over Vizier is that Vizier has very weird tribal types. For those decks that care about a tribal bend, it's extremely lackluster. I play a Tolsimir deck. Realmwalker is going right into that, because it can provide me that effect and *also* support the wolf tribal with very little given away. I was very happy to see Masked Vandal printed because it gave Wolf tribal a tribal artifact/enchantment removal option, which it didn't have before. I could use Nature's claim, but now I can run it as a wolf and get tribal synergies and the benefits of a creature that sticks instead of having a one-off with less flexibility. But the real winner for Tolsimir was Sarulf's Packmate. Draw, 3/3 (meets threshold for elemental bond and some other effects) for **two** mana? Wow. Even at only a 4-cost it's a great option. Before this one of the very few cards in Wolf tribal that could replace itself was Rot wolf (and it did that well if it got buffed on entry with something like Cathar's since Tolsimir fight triggers) and that was a 2/2 for 3 *and* it was boardstate dependent. This is generally going to be better than that. All in all, wolf friend deck is very, very happy with the new additions from Kaldheim. This was the bork bork nom nom report. See you at feeding time.

@edwardcowart59903 жыл бұрын
I believe you can cast mystic reflection in response to the boardwipe, then rise of the dread mean afterwards. Land destruction is part of Magic, so are the counterspells. It's annoying? Maybe. But it's also annoying to get your spells countered. And I won't stop playing Magic and having fun just for that... But when I lose because my lands got destroyed, I shuffle back and play another game ;)

The general thought behind the idea is that if your lands get blown up and the opponent wins, that's acceptable (although some people hate it too); but when the opponent _doesn't_ win, the game becomes a grindfest because everyone's back at zero mana and starting over. Land destruction as a finisher should be OK in my opinion.

I feel like Maskwood Nexus is going to feel a lot better when the D&D set comes out and there’s more stuff that cares about a “party”.
@SirPoonga3 жыл бұрын
I plan on putting the Nexus in my sliver deck to give it a try. It has enough uses there to at least try it. I will have The World Tree to help fix the mana so it could be possible to get all my slivers out in one go and just instantly win with the many combos they create. It works with Mana Echoes to create mana on other player's turns. I could see a situation where I have my commander (the Sliver Overlord), Nexus, Echoes, and a couple of other slivers out. That would mean each time another player drops a creature (even creating a token) I get a free sliver tutor. I might put the Seedborn Muse back in the deck as the Nexus would allow me to tutor for it. With the First Sliver it means the Muse would get cascade also. Also, it will work with Descendants' Path to ensure it can trigger on the upkeep after a board wipe. Right now the only other two ways I have for that situation is if Quick Sliver (flash) is in hand or I have 5 mana open to use the Sliver Hive land. It is more likely I will have the 3 mana open for the Nexus since I tend to wait on tutoring with the Overlord until just before my turn.

With regard to your discussion on Rise of the Dread Marn and Mystic Reflection, you actually can do that. Mystic Reflection just says "the next time one or more creatures enter the battlefield this turn" it doesn't say that has to happen right away. So what you can do is cast Mystic Reflection with a board wipe on the stack and target the best creature on the board. Let that resolve, then let the board wipe resolve. After the board wipe resolves, you cast Rise of the Dread Marn and create a bunch of 2/2s, but as long as no other creatures have entered the battlefield since Mystic Reflection resolved, those 2/2s will enter as copies of the powerful creature you targeted earlier. The problem is that it's risky. If someone else is able to flash in a creature or create a token before you can resolve RotDM, you kinda get screwed because that creature will enter as a copy of the powerful one instead of your 2/2 zombies.

I think exile is going into blue as a rework of "transform" effects like frogify, similar to how they reworked oubliette with phasing (not a typically black effect from what I can remember). I think it is supposed to work cleaner than having an attachment lying around, or at least represent a irreversible transformation rather than reversible (via enchantment removal), similar to exile effects in black often being associated with consuming or otherwise destroying beyond return like burning to ash. So conceptually, I think exile in blue can make sense, Exile has gathered a lot of associations with it over the last 25 years though, so blue exile has all that to fight against in peoples' expectations.

For a moment I though you'd put a meme of Sam va lentín at 8:03 (it's a spanish meme for Valentine Day, for those wondering)

Maskwood Nexus is best in split tribe decks that want a lot of creatures of two different tribes. You mentioned Rin and Seri, there's also Sylvia and Korvath and a few others.

I recommend haunting voyage for atheros shadow apostle deck. You can get the apostles if needed or get the demons that are in the graveyard

Best use of Tibalt's trickery is to counter your own 0 drop cards and play your own cards for free on turn 1 or 2 and try to land a big CMC spell before someone has the mana to interact with you.

One of these days I'm gonna have to send in an audition. The only time I've been to Los Angeles was on a layover to Vegas. Oh, and I'd love to play with Josh/Jimmy. :)

(Talking about Kaya): mentions Karn's temporal sundering and doubling season/vorinclex Me: It'd be a real shame if there was a certain commander that just happened to synergize well with planeswalkers that also just happened to be in those exact for colors

My first thought for pact of the serpent is how much damage you could deal to someone with it in a Nekusar deck
