@blodiaaa69905 жыл бұрын
I can tell you what happened with the album, it's obvious. Kanye started with Yandhi, struggled the whole time with faith, delaying the album and eventually shelving it. He randomly decided to go full on Christian, but didn't want to make new songs, he had delayed the album too much as it is. So instead of making an entirely new album he decided to take bits and pieces of Yandhi and other works and threw subpar, shallow gospel lyrics over them and called it a day. That's why we got what we got, that's why it's not properly mixed, that's why it sounds unfinished. I don't have any faith anymore in Kanye's ability to make a good album. That died with MBDTF. It's clear to me now. The man is too screwed up mentally to make good music. He's all over the place, and has no one is his camp trying to reel him in and talk sense to into him.

Y’all keep saying “it was repetitive” but literally most gospel songs have that same element of repetition. I listen to gospel all the time, and you have to understand that it’s about connecting to the music. It doesn’t always have to be wordy, just catchy and straight to the soul. Now, whether or not he was able to reach people with his sound/words is another conversation. Music is subjective, so some people may have been touched. I think the problem is (1) the sequencing of the the album; the suggested order: Jesus is Lord, Use this Gospel, Selah, Follow God, Hands on, Water, Every Hour ( as the album outro)He could stick with the 7 song format. (2) He needed a gospel artist to help him by maybe Co-Executive producing this album from a conceptual/thematic perspective. I seems like they wouldn’t or he didn’t ask for help. If he goes with the suggested order I listed, scraps the 4 songs I left out, I think you guys would rate the album higher. 😎

I like that you guys did this but I think ya'll did just fine going over the album in the initial review. I think most people would agree.

I would deeply appreciate more alternative reviews like this. It's important.

I’m actually down for these type of vids it be like a companion to the actual reviews I hope they make more

Okay I really loved this type of video. However, I still prefer your conversational style of reviews. I do definitely want to see more of this but I wouldn’t want this to replace your normal reviews. I think you should do this for albums that deserve a breakdown in addition to the review.

It would be cool that your reviews were part the original format because watching you guys interact is gold. But also part this style, this looks good and is very interesting to hear your opinion in this format.

This was awesome! I mean the album still sucks but I'd love to see y'all do this for an album that doesn't suck. Not to replace the normal reviews cuz I think those are still the best but maybe along side it like this

You guys are missing the mark, at the Big boi interview Kanye said that this wasn't a gospel album, so Feefo, Rod and Ken shouldn't be stressing about not being "gospel enough". Besides that, great review.
@michaelasar10125 жыл бұрын
It wasn't rap enough or soul enough either, I get you and the interview but it wasn't executed well period in any genre, ultra light beam and Jesus walks repeated forever is better than the entire album in every theme and genre it touches.

But he said it was a gospel album in another interview

Album is sonically a 7/10 Lyrics 3/10 Album 4.5/10 Very low repeat value and his rapping was horrific. Eventhough you speaking on God you still must create a good album.

I feel like if you’re speaking on God, you have a greater reason to make a good album.🤔

I don't comment often but: LOOOVE IT. Album was a dud to me and I moved on instantly, even though the best of Kanye remains an inspiration... But DEHH trying out special formats like this and always growing is why I'm extra proud to keep supporting on patreon. This video was dope and hilarious.

Really cool format. I was totally fine with yall going more into Kanye as a person in the other video, but I still dig this review.

Myke you're definitely right about that when Kanye shows up the album is worse. Honestly take kanye off some these, add the sunday service more and get some other rapper to do some of Kanyes verses and this album would be maybe a 7/10
