Kao the Kangaroo is a nostalgic 3D platformer that makes no secret of its inspirations. It doesn't try too hard to be gimmicky, packing a colourful aesthetic and light-hearted humor to carry it through the parts where it feels unoriginal.

Even after only playing 2 hours, I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. Its biggest problem is its bugs though. Several times, I've had character dialogue completely cut out during cutscenes.

This feels like a hybrid of all my favourite platformers from the PS1/2 era and I’m all for it. It’s as if Crash, Spyro and Ty the Tasmania Tiger got put all into a dimension together and this is the result.

I’m gonna say this while the gameplay is pretty fun the things that slightly take me away from the experience is the bugs, the dialogue/ cutscenes/ voice acting. But not bad

This game is RIDDLED with bugs. Mostly nothing game-breaking, but did anyone even play-test this thing?! Examples: frozen vases can't be smashed after being melted, they just glitch out, lift/elevator noises continue longer than the animation, and it says "Press B to skip credits" in the PLAYSTATION version. My advice: wait for patches or skip this one.

A game made for the kids is not going to sell well, especially if it hasn't a big name... Now, a game made for both kids AND adults? Well, that would work differently. It would be as simple as removing many of the 1-UPs and offering additional difficulty settings for those that crave a more challenging experience. In a platformer, it's a flaw and should be listed as such.

Play Kena Bridge Of Spirits. It's an awesome mix of platformer with metrovania, set in a sandbox open world, that feels kinda PS2-ish but with great mechanics and graphics and a surprisingly challenging combat system that puts your abilities to the test. It has its annoying "woke" moments, but it's a great game nonetheless!
