Yes, that would explain how affectionate these cats become. I've seen other videos of rescue cats that become extremely affectionate to their rescuers . They had a home, then they got lost or abandoned; they had a terrible suffering time on the streets, because they didn't have the street-smarts of other cats and they became incredibly grateful to their humans after they got a home again.

That's true. I've had a few encounters with feral cats. One step toward a feral cat equals equals a thousand for them as they bolt off to where ever a local colony might be or to where they will go to hide out as their home.

She needs a feline friend, someone to hang around, play, cuddle and just spend some time with. She is definitely feeling lonely/missing something important. It's nice how she takes care of her, but a human can never substitute for a feline friend. It's important for her to get those social interactions with another member of her species. I mean think about it, if you were a pet of some giant alien race, no matter how caring they are, they cannot compensate for human interaction. It's the same for cats and dogs.

My dads most recent cat is like this. He rescues cats, but this one is his most recent, I named her Storm. So Storm was abused and the abuser died, a family friend, the partner didn’t want Storm anymore. Storm was very vicious back then, she attacked my dad twice. Bare in mind, my dad is this budget Uncle Fester. He’s very aggressive and ready to be violent if he needs to. This little kitten, who could fit in my palms is his little Princess. One day she was on his chest and he stroked her for the first time, now she wakes him up every day to the same thing. Storm is very jealous, like very. My parents are divorced but my mam does a lot for my dad, she’s down his flat almost every day. Storm now loves my mam, she pelts to see my mam. My mam is scared of cats, but I’m not. I’m quite rough, I was used to Jasper rest his soul a cat bigger than my dog, and Phoenix the feral cat which started this all off with my dad, who taught me cats aren’t scary. Phoenix was rough with me and still is. But when Jasper was dying, it was a long few months we didn’t know what was happening until it was too late. Phoenix started to withdraw even from me, which was weird he was my best friend outside of my dog. He hid in the kitchen. That happened since April, only this week has he came into the living room and came for strokes. He nestles into me again and my heart explodes. I was 14, when my dad got Phoenix. I was petrified of cats. He showed me his claws weren’t there to hurt me, and he basically coached me. So to see him nestling into me again was amazing. But Phoenix has started getting scabs all over him. My dad thought it was because he gets out of the flat a lot, but i was stroking Phoenix when my mam was busy doing something for me dad and I was talking to him about Jack Reacher. I saw this little black paw come up from under the table and attack Phoenix. Apparently Storm fights him. Best part is, this feral cat who we don’t even know his gender, we say him because he looks male, and we don’t know his age. Is letting this kitten who’s not even a year and a half old attack him. Sorry this is long I can ramble on forever about my dad and his cats. I love them.

I had a feral that adopted me. I named him “Meathead” because he had so many scars (old and new) on his big, round melon. I saw him a few times out in the rain, darting across the parking lot in my apartment complex, and one day I brought out a can of tuna. That was what got him up the stairs, he loved the treat so I invited him inside. It turned out he just needed a warm place and some snuggles. He was a total love bug, he would lay on my chest and I’d scratch his head and ears and he’d start drooling like a madman. Dang, he was so funny and if you came by for a visit he’d be in your lap making biscuits within a few minutes. He slept right by my head every night. He was by best little buddy. I loved him. I miss him.

Karen is a beautiful fur child. We went to adopt a kitty. And came upon a almost one year old wild cat. He just had surgery. He had dogs sicked on him. Broke his back under a fence and got hit by a car. He still had stitches. Yet healing up. I asked to try to hold him. The lady told me no one could touch him. I told her hand him to me. She lifted him up from the scruff. Handed him to me and he melted in my arms. He has become the most loving cat. And he demands his hugs and snuggles. He is also very protective.

I totally agree! The first and only time I fostered a cat they called Eeyore at the shelter because he wouldn’t move, and literally went limp when you tried to pick him up the poor thing. He stayed on top of my piano for three days, and I would sit on the floor and sing to him and read him stories. He let me pet him but he wouldn’t react. After a week of this, I tried to pick him up again and he put both arms around me! From then on whenever I would come into the room he would climb on my lap and put one arm around each side of my neck for a hug and just fall asleep like that. Unfortunately my cat who was 15 at the time started showing a lot of signs of stress and the vet said I had to stop fostering. Fortunately that very day someone applied to adopt Eeyore. I was a major foster fail!! I balled my eyes out because I had spent six weeks with him and couldn’t imagine anyone else being able to understand him. However I met the woman, and she is such a wonderful person! She has had me over to visit quite a few times which was completely unnecessary on her part but that’s how lovely she is. He’s thriving and has a young kitty sister who has really brought him out of his shell! ❤️

I also picked up a very feral, deemed "difficult cat" from being put down. I must have been there at the right time, on the right day, and I never hung out at shelters before. We had a very enlighten friendship I never thought possible. 17 years. No one loved me quite like him. Great, great animal. So special.

Karen is a pretty cat. She's now attached to her mommy. She shows appreciation for adopting her and you can tell she loves her mommy for doing that. So she shows it through the cuddling affection. Thank you from Karen and me.

She needs a feline friend, someone to hang around, play, cuddle and just spend some time with. She is definitely feeling lonely/missing something important. It's nice how she takes care of her, but a human can never substitute for a feline friend. It's important for her to get those social interactions with another member of her species. I mean think about it, if you were a pet of some giant alien race, no matter how caring they are, they cannot compensate for human interaction. It's the same for cats and dogs.
