I am Karsten's biggest hater and was at the same film school he was (never ran into him), and I find it very ironic and validating of my distaste for his empty commentary that his most profound thing he's made is explicitly devoid of meaning. I do appreciate the analysis tho and have found all of your videos very thought provoking as I've been binging, I just couldn't help seeing Karsten's name and hearing his voice without my verbal displeasure I couldn't help it lmao

Idk 24h of SpongeBob might be too much, but I'd gladly watch 12h of classic SpongeBob, like that sounds like a perfect Saturday to me.

The reinvention of - - - Infinite Jest - - - - ? - "He knows how silly that is, but like a true absurdist, he does it anyway"...a stupidity loop - - - - culturally enbalmed.

I'd argue it's actually incredibly telling data for psychological study. Not only in the sense of measuring the effects of Concentrated SpongeBob on the psyche but also the brain space of the individual undertaking the first prolonged exposure study. If Karsten gets sponsored by BetterHelp at some point they should get his brain scanned for science.

I never cared for Karsten, he always seemed so pretentious to me.

I get that in some way he does know more about film than the average person because he actually went and got a qualification at a film school, but you're right, he can come off as pretentious. My other problem is SOMETIMES his reviews can feel surface-level, or like he's sayin a whole bunch of nothing. He doesn't go as deep as I would like him to go in the movies he's talking about
