The POV driver is my friend. He is inexperienced and got bullied on track. He should have been more aggressive! If I was driving, it would be tempting to train wreck after the first incident 😂The 'defending driver' eventually got removed from the session and then black listed from the track! Good riddance 😄 EDIT: Watch my analysis here👇 kzbin.infozzKKbAsNiXA

Simple fix in this case. The driver gave him more than enough opportunity to have an actual race. After so long a simple run from behind to push him to deep into a corner would solve this. Constantly allowing yourself to be beside someone who doesn't want to keep this safe affects everyone. Sending him into a corner to have to become well off pace doesn't. It's the lesser of two evils.
@stevet5379 Жыл бұрын

you have to remember that you have responsibility for damage caused to both vehicle and driver. I'm not THAT eager to race if it means possibly wrecking and having to pay for repairing a kart. what I learned with a similar experience is that it's better to only kart when you have a closed session with friends. it's very hard to gather enough people, but paying to get angry and frustrated with some jack*ss strangers? I'd rather not, thanks
@offdabeatz Жыл бұрын
@gustavogoesgomes1863 The method I am speaking of is not to wreck the driver. Simply moving them out of a racing line to have to become off pace. It is up to track officials (if real racing series) to handle this during the race. Here, they obviously didn't care until after. Intentionally wrecking isn't something I ever recommend because it breeds bad techniques that can only lead to serious injury down the line. Moving people, as I stated, a lesser of two evils should still be a last resort. When we are clearly faster, we need to also be smarter about the lines we take.
@gustavogoesgomes1863 Жыл бұрын
@@offdabeatz what I wanted to say is that unless you somehow manage to overtake them in a straight and get so far ahead that they can't reach you even in a tight turn, they will "attack" you. even taking a lot of care and looking around me at all times I've got tagged and pushed off track, and I'm sure it would be even worse if I wasn't avoiding them. there was at least three occasions where I was far ahead and I had to open my steering mid corner because the driver behind me was literally coming straight for me. the worst part is that even so, I managed to outrun the bully eventually... wich led me to be stuck behind the next ones. yes, on plural. you don't know how insane things were. I was literally afraid to be near them, and they blocked the track ahead almost all the time. I didn't know how awful a race can be until this day lol

Wouldnt be surprised to see him driving for Red Bull in a few years. He's obviously been training in their star drivers programme tactics, got some classic early Vettel and current Verstappen moves there.

Got that one time with a heavy guy who was karting like Bowser. Every tight turn, he'd slide out but refused to wait to let others pass, no matter how many blue flags he got. When I got past him I gunned it on a straight followed by a wide turn, going full throttle. Given that it was the first lap and the tires were still cold, I didn't make the turn and hit the side, bruising my rib and breaking the rear axle.
@Birdhouseboi810 Жыл бұрын
My thoughts are you kept choosing the outside line so he forced you wide. Sometimes way too much as he didn’t give you enough room and purposely pushing you off track as well as himself. Glad he got removed and black listed but there were opportunities to pass that you didn’t take.
@tmanwattsutube Жыл бұрын
I think he was targeting the POV driver. He had no problem with other people passing him. He was clearly looking back to ensure he was setup to always have the inside line from the other driver. A better driver could have easily faked him out and got by with sustained momentum, but the POV driver hadn't reached that skill level yet.

Had a guy doing this in a 1 hour indoor race. Managed to lap him once after he foiled several attempts by shoving me into barriers. When I caught up with him for a 2nd time, it started with the same treatment. After a few attempts to pass, I got frustrated and punted him. Third time I was surprised how fast I caught him again. I just punted him as I approached instead of letting him slow me down. Never saw him again. Turns out he rage quit about 40 minutes into the race. Pulled off the track, threw his helmet, stormed out of the building, and was banned from racing at the facility. Turns about several other drivers had made the same decision I had long before I reached it, and he was in last place because even the slowest drivers were lapping him as he was recovering from constant spins. Post-race, the track marshals apologized for the inconvenience and told us we handled the situation well...
@ArjenJongeling Жыл бұрын
Next time, briefly slam the brakes when he pushes you off the track. He will eliminate himself because it becomes a PIT maneuvre. The last thing you see of him is when he crosses in front of you while you turn him around. Another way is to use him as a brake, like suggested in other comments. Preferrably on one of his corners.

Glad he got removed but after all that, the 1:34 turn ur friend got a perfect t-bone position and I’m sending him straight into the wall 😂 funny how after that turn he’s almost signalling for u to move outside lmfao
@bogdancaloianu9053 Жыл бұрын
Why not bump him under braking so he whashes out wide and you are free to go. I go to 6h endurance and have seen the nudge often when someone is trying overly agreasive to defend. But also, never have I seen such an idiot. He runs you wide each time you are beside him.
@DrR1pper Жыл бұрын
The guys an a-hole but you kept yielding him space by going wider as he squeezed you on the outside even on the straights. You should have held position which would have forced him into an uncomfortable tighter line going into the next corners and then you could have easily completed your switch backs, overtaking him completely on exits. Seems to me though that this wasn't on your radar because you were too focused on him (though somewhat understandably because he was being as a-hole). Problem was vision in this case. Just as you should be looking at where you want to go and not where you don't want to go when driving around on your own, the same is true with combatants on the track. Focus on them and you detract from your brain seeing the bigger picture of how to get around a-hole obstacles which is all another driver on the track is.....not the a-hole bit (necessarily) but an obstacle to be gotten around (just like corners) with your peripheral vision and your main vision focused much further ahead of where you're at. This was fundamentally a problem of sub-optimal vision here as you are clearly the much faster driver than the obstacle was.

I agree. The POV driver was my friend. He should have been more aggressive! If I was driving, I would have train wrecked after the first incident 😂
@s4cells4cell7 Жыл бұрын
@@kartingtipsno need for a train wreck. The front driver is very easy to predict in his behaviour. With his superior speed he should have take the inside line way earlier
@offdabeatz Жыл бұрын
@s4cells4cell7 agree wrecking people because of this breeds poor technique. Karting may not bring severe injury, but as you progress, that mentality will in later racing classes.

This is why if I race karts I need to race karts that have enough power to overcome the limits of the tires. This way driving skill actually comes into play. These karts are simply too slow to make driving skill a major factor when you have someone behaving like this. And if the marshals see you tailgate and push the driver you are viewed as the overly aggressive party because you would have spun the other driver out. The marshals should have been on the lookout for this type of behavior, however we can guess that the marshals in this case are likely Teenagers who have no interest in stopping this passive aggressive behavior.

EASY fix for this problem, first thing you do is wait for him to get out of his kart, then, you use your helmet as a hammer and swing it into his face several times until he stops twitching.

He would do that one or two times then I would (know a turn - lets say right is coming up.) I put my left front near hid right rear and as soon as he begins his turn to the right to negotiate the turn, I would turn hard left, this will quickly and dangerously make him spin hard and out of control. You recover and sial on for the rest of the race. He learned quick what a "pit maneuver" is.
@DFAST1994 Жыл бұрын
In cases like this the solution is realy simple. Forgive the unfair play once or twice. The third time either you push him from behind on a curve or on a straight while being beside him, you hit gently his rear with your front and let him spin.

Looks like overtaking the bully was pointless because he couldn’t even stay ahead of him for 2 seconds
