Then Big dropped ‘Who Shot Ya’ and Pac took it as a diss towards him
@cpo39164 жыл бұрын
Nah a lot of people getting it mixed up in the comments. Pac never claimed that Big had him shot (that doesn't even make sense since they were friends at the time.), he just believed that Big knew what went down but was being a coward because the guys that did it were big time gangsters from Bigs neighbourhood so he was afraid. Pac felt Big owed him more than that since Pac had done a lot for him and helped put him on. Also, the guys that were responsible for Pac's shooting were extorting Bad Boy (diddys label which Big was signed to), so Pac wanted to mess up their money by going after Bad Boy.
@Necksteppa774 жыл бұрын
Finally someone who knows what theyre talking about. Good job. People who say 2Pac started a beef for record sales know nothing about all the street shit that happened behind the scenes of that beef. Another thing, the same people who shot pac, and were extorting Bad Boy also tried to extort Pac. He told them to Suck his D*ck. They came back to rob him and send him a message.

About Faith Evans: She met 2Pac the day he got out of prison, where he told her he had a song he wanted to do with her; Wonda Why They Call U Bitch, she was seen sitting on his lap as he wrote lyrics and left the studio with him to go to his hotel. Once at the hotel they apparently had sex, which she still denies. He then apparently told her, "I'm going after BIG & Bad Boy and you have to decide which side you're on" and supposedly played a demo of Hit Em Up for her showing he was serious. A few weeks later BIG released the Get Money (Remix) on the same beat as Hit 'Em Up, which pissed 2Pac off even more causing him to completely rerecord the song now with an emphasis on "I fucked your wife" and ripping off the Get Money track.

He was also beginning to start a record label called Death Row East which would have put out artists from the east coast. For anyone who is confused or for some reason believed Pac started this whole beef for no reason, or wrongfully accused biggie, you need to read up on the beef. 2Pac was an established rapper already by the time he met Biggie. He took him under his wing, helped him with shows, taught him some things about the rap game. They were good friends. Eventually Pac started running around with some really bad dudes from new york. Real street guys. These same guys would eventually be the ones extorting Bad Boy. Everyone in NY knew this crew and their gang. They start extorting Bad Boy and also tried to extort Pac. Problem with that is, Pac wasnt having it. Pac aint the type to be extorted. So he stops rolling with them. Pac is at a recording studio in NY, in which biggie and a good amount of Bad Boy affiliates just happened to be there as well. These gangsters send some goons to rob Pac and send him a message. 2Pac was strapped, he tried to pull out his pistol, so they end up shooting him. Pac surprisingly survives. 2Pac asks around, if anyone knows what happened, specifically he asks Biggie, Puffy and Bad Boy if they knew anything, because hes supposed to be cool with them. They all say they have no idea what happened or who is responsible. Now by this time, Pac also has a pending charge on the rape case hes involved in. He ends up going to jail, and in his own words, he felt like everyone turned their back on him. No visits from biggie, no letters, nothing. Pac eventually learns the people responsible are the same people rolling with Biggie and bad boy and that Biggie knew the whole time, they were all just too scared to say anything. Heres the issue. Biggie and Bad Boy were too scared of these gangsters to tell 2Pac the truth, thus to Pac, meant not only were they disloyal, but also cowards. This is one very important detail about 2Pac. He is very loyal and put a lot of importance in this. Suge knight comes to Pac in prison and tells him, he can bail him out if he signs to Death Row, and that he also has a beef with Puff, so they can basically join forces. Suge and Puff have beef from a while back before all this because of a few altercations and street shit their crews went through. Pac signs to Death Row, with now basically a whole crew of Bloods and street dudes behind him to match the crew thats behind Bad Boy. 2Pac declares all out war on Bad Boy, Biggie, and the Goons who tried to kill him. Thats basically the gist of the whole beef. 2Pac getting involved with a whole lot of street shit, and street politics, fueled by anger.

It all started because 2pac got shot at bad boy records and then biggie released a track called “who shot ya”. Previously a bad boy artist had their chain robbed in the west coast. Tupac tracked the robbers down and set it up so they could meet and get the chain back. When bad boy couldn’t tell him who shot him (the first time not the one that killed him) he expected biggie and Tupac to do the same and let him know who robbed him. (Personally I think diddy set that up though if you watch the interview where they’re talking about it and diddys eyes are darting all over the place)

The whole beef stemmed from when 2Pac got shot 5 times and then went to prison shortly there after. While he was in prison biggie released his song “who shot ya.” Which is why Pac believed that it was biggie that was behind it. In his mind all signs pointed back to biggie and his camp. He stated in the song towards the end that when it all started, it was just about biggie. But everybody had to add in their opinions and get involved. The media was the one that turned into “the west coast east coast war.” When you come from that type of area you can’t allow yourself to be seen as week cuz that’ll be the end of you. That’s why he pursued it as much as he did. That and his anger. Which in hind sight I understand. But that’s a little more info for you since you asked about it.

The song “what shot ya” was the reason pac thought that it was biggie that shot him bc he got shot on the way to a recording session with biggie

And you have to remember back then there wasn't Facebook or Twitter where they could talk to each other real quick so back then if they had issues with someone they literally had to go to that person's hood and confront them in person that's why sometimes at the award shows fights would break out because I was the only time they saw each other

It has to be a SHORT documentary on KZbin explaining what started all of this. Would love for you guys to find one and react to it 👍 I just recently learned all of this The past couple of years. It's very intriguing and interesting.

Tupac put Biggy in the rap game by letting him rap at his shows etc. Tupac went to NY Quad Studios to do a song with Big etc. and that's when he got shot in the lobby, Tupac felt he was setup, he didn't think Biggy organised the hit but he felt Biggy would of known and didn't warn him out of fear maybe because they were gangstas from Brooklyn. Tupac got wind in prison that one of Biggie's homies shot him and he was on a mission to destroy Biggy and who ever sided with him. It may seem stupid now, but at that time in that moment it was very serious, and the whole world watched and listened to the diss tapes and interviews etc and chose a side. The world !! So this beef was bigger then just the States, what's crazy is that there was no internet or you tube back then to watch this stuff, but the whole world knew of it at the time and chose a side.

This is what all we "OG's" want. A discussion and appreciation for what was. Because that's how we looked at the 70's-80's. I was in many 20's in the 90's shit was real. You actually to pick sides lol. And it was waaay more dangerous. Take Chicago...folks think it's crazy now, but the murder rate was almost twice as high back in the 90's. Keep doing more Pac. And other artist like him...Biggie...Redman...Wu Tang. Etc. Good reaction. Oh, you will be misguided by a lot of the comments. I only saw one that got it mostly right. (The one that said pac thought Biggie knew the people that did it.).

Agreed. I was in my 20's in the 90's too. Late 80's-90's rap beefs were serious shit.

At the very least it seems like it may have started as early as the EARLY 1990s because with tracks like Tim dog "F*** compton" *seemingly* taking aim or being directed/full of the aim being taken at/towards "N.W.A" and also Eazy-E and perhaps particularly with regard to the nwa song "Straight Outta Compton".

The Beef Started November 30,1994, The Night Tupac was robbed and shot in Quad Studios in New York. Truthfully, the shooting was about some street shit that had nothing to do with music, Pac used the beef to make money, Hit Em Up is the hardest diss record to ever be released, Though they were beefing, it is important to say that they didn't die behind the East Coast West Coast Beef. RIP TO THE LEGDENDS OF HIP HOP.
