How did you jack up the bike? I have a hydraulic motorcycle jack, a triple tree stand and a rear wheel stand. It is a hand made lift from a couple of 2 x 8 boards that are screwed together. A piece of pipe on one end serves as a lever to cantilever the bike up on the edge of the wood. I wish I could remember the KZbin video that I got the idea from.

You taught me too well. I recently bought Baron's front fork lowering kit. Horrible instructions. No pics and one paragraph. Said to disassemble forks. I thought. No Problem, there's a great you tube vid. Turns out it was not necessary to remove fork legs. I found that out too late and the last metal ring would not come out and would not allow the tube to reinstall with the little metal band at the bottom of the tube. It's that band that makes you have to tug on the tube to remove it. I ended up installing one tube without the band. Allow me to ask one question that you may or may not have the answer to. Since my forks are 1 1/2 inch lower, wouldn't it be over filling to put the 14 oz back in? Barons says fill it. I have my doubts.
@muddyfences55595 жыл бұрын
It is probably needed, as the forks dampen from the spring and the oil. Without enough oil, they will likely be too soft, and bottom out when you take the big potholes.
