In the early morning the cats tend to hang around the muscle beds. Zebra muscles are a huge part of the diet for blue cats on the Ohio river. As it gets lighter the big cats drop back into the deeper holes.

This means that chicken is possibly a good choice of baits. The chicken replicates those muscles.

You are so cool I love fishing. The biggest cat I caught was 146 lbs this. Was in elaphont B r u yt? Lake. In Ttc new mexico at the narrows it was a lot of fun I was 14 when my uncle took me fishing on the Ohio river we hit log and it a bout Sunk us then we went to miss river. Then we down the quadalupie river. What he lives we caught some bad ads cat that night and they were real good thank you for your very. Good vedos my spelling sucks. I stride thank s you from all us old Fisher man I'm 72 last august28th good luck. We love what you do thanks.

I'm pretty far South of where you're fishing, but the bite is off here too. The water is so warm the fish just aren't eating much. Hopefully the bite will turn on when the water cools down.

Hey Justin! You may want to check your electronics, I’m from this area and I can’t think of anywhere in that area the river would be 60+ feet deep. Even when that river is badly flooded it doesn’t get that high. Glad you are in the area!

I Fish that spot all the time. My biggest fish ive caught came from 20 to 30 feet of water drifting across the mouth of that creek in the fall. 43 lb blue also an 18 lb channel cat all from that same area

At one time here in Tennessee, you were only allowed 3 poles with a maximum of 3 hooks each. I thought the same thing is a law in Ohio, but after making my first comment, I realized he wasn't fishing in Ohio but in Indiana on the Ohio river. Sorry about my thinking wrong. I just fished the ohio river, suspending skipjack 2 foot off the bottom 45 feet of water, tried 20 feet, 35 feet, etc for 10 hours. Drfted baits 3 miles and went around a bend. Tried main channel, the edge of the channel, the flats. Fished pilings behind 2 bridges. Nor ONE BITE. Don't know why the hell I'm cursed and can't catch a real blue cat

Also had probably 300 speed boats, jet skis, and 5 barges go by rocking me the entire time. Not sure how you find all these spots with 0 boats
