Picked up SU16 CA last year about the same time was the only option in 556 that takes AR mags available in Massachusetts is not band or restricted. It may not be a battle rifle but I modified the foregrip with a redlion forend and I'm able to attach flashlights and other items, definitely an excellent bug out option because it is light and it folds to a packable compactness.

su16... hmmm, semi in 5.56 and cheaper than scar and not yet prohib? will consider this one. thanks for sharing! is su16 restricted?

The SU-16 California model isn't restricted here in Mass but that's cuz it has the comb stock no pistol grip. I've tried to find the SU-16 tactical conversion but they are not available anywhere, I think Kel-Tec doesn't make them anymore.

Yup, showing zero signs of wear. Approaching 600ish rounds. It failed previously at around 800.
