I doubt this case got much coverage/exposure when she first went missing considering how we are all just hearing it, 7 years later (it was probably brought into Kendall's attention more recently too, otherwise she would've covered it years ago). Who knows, if Relisha was sold to sex traffickers maybe she could've been saved right away. CORRECTION: Casey Anthony NEVER reported her daughter missing. It was Casey's Mom, Cindy, who called the police after tracking Casey down at her boyfriend's house. When she finally found Casey and realized Caylee wasn't with her, she basically dragged Casey out to the car and called 911. She forced Casey to talk to the operator, and Casey lied about everything and seemed very annoyed and uninterested in talking with them.

Sure, the mother did EVERYTHING wrong, but we also have to hold other people accountable; the cps workers who continuously allowed the mother to have custody, shelter employees who did not uphold the no fraternizing rule and turned a blind eye to Khalil’s relationship with Relisha, the school employees who did little investigating into a month of absence and strange doctor’s notes.... Yes EVERYONE failed her this I agree with. I would like to ask though has anyone heard the term “it starts at home” ? The one most responsible for keeping this beautiful young lady safe was her mother! She neglected her plain and simple then the other adults tried to step in and care for her and some may have called cps however you can’t always rely on them to step up and do their jobs to protect the innocent. Therefore this little girl was either sold or lost her life due to negligence of the ones who should have kept her safe. HER MOTHER and CPS. Whatever socioeconomic background you have, it doesn't cost ANYTHING to love your child, to brush their hair, to wash their clothes, to spend time with them and make sure they're not left alone to fend for themselves in a world full of people who may take advantage of them. But when it's the parent that is victimizing their own child, that is a whole other level of evil that I will never be able to wrap my head and heart around. My heart breaks for this little girl. As a non-mother, I will never understand “mothers” who neglect / abuse their kids. I never wanted children, for a myriad of reasons, and that’s just fine. However, I’ve had many babies and older children in my care (friends and family’s) and I cannot fathom turning any child over to someone potentially dangerous, or doing anything less than loving them. I never once let a child in my care out of my sight for a second. I also would never let a strange man (or women) cozy up to them. Shamika not only severely neglected her daughter and handed her straight into the arms of evil... but failed to simply love her. However, everyone else in the family, in my opinion, is just as horrid. That grandmother KNEW better... they all did! If anyone in my life treated their child this way, and I knew about it, even if I only slightly suspected, it would be up to me to follow through with necessary measures to ensure that child gets the love and protection they need. I would fight the most for a child like Relisha! The poor little girl didn’t even want to leave school, but had nowhere to go. Heartbreaking! I’m so beyond angry with the so-called “mother.” As a side note: Don’t these “mothers” ask themselves how would THEY feel if they were their own children and neglected / abused? Don’t they see their kids are helpless? Apparently they have brains they size of a pea, so they are incapable of such thought.. and hearts even smaller, on a microscopic level.

You spoke my exact thoughts! I’m from Montgomery County and it’s upset me for years how the DMV has neglected this case. It feels like everyone here has completely forgotten about it and doesn’t care about it anymore.

@@candy-ninja that’s the thing dc is small you could walk from one end to the other in a single day. Everyone knows everyone who knows everyone , If that makes sense. There’s no reason things should go unsolved. Especially in the NATIONS CAPITAL. the president lives here for crying out loud. But i guess that doesn’t matter when the world is corrupt

The school done more for her than anyone, if it wasn't for the school we probably wouldn't even known she went missing...like where is the help for these vulnerable children??! It takes a village but seems her whole family and village knew and turned a blind eye 💔😭

Absolutely disgusting that her "mother" just handed her over to a man she didnt even really know and they weren't related to. This beautiful child deserved so much more, so incredibly sad. I hope this case is solved and this sweet girl can be brought home.

It would seem the mother “sold” her daughter to the janitor and I’m guessing for drug money. He either sold her or something happened and she died. Either way everyone failed this poor sweet girl and it’s so heartbreaking. This sweet baby deserved so much more!

The fact that he killed his wife and himself right after leads me to believe the worst case for Relisha, sadly. Also surprised the hotel footage didn't capture them leaving the room. Does anyone know what floor it was on? Because there's a good chance he may have left through a window. There's also a good chance he packed her up in his suitcase when he left. Disgusting man. He also had a felony record for burglary, larceny, and breaking-and-entering so he would know exactly how to sneak out.

I don’t know how this specific Red Roof Inn is but I stayed at one in New Jersey and it was sketchy as hell. Crackhead city. I wouldn’t be surprised if the “cameras weren’t working”.

We don’t know for sure if there was any footage of them leaving the hotel room. The television series crimewatch daily did an episode about this case, and you can find it on KZbin, but when they interview the police chief, and ask her if there was any video footage of them leaving the room, they said that because the case is still open, they can’t confirm or deny the existence of any additional videos.

@@XYZ-kb3mm Just because the human trafficking theory was ruled out doesn’t mean that the information about the hotel is not relevant. All we know is that this footage of the last known footage of relisha ride. The police won’t say if there’s any footage of her leaving the hotel room. So we don’t know for sure where she went after the hotel room. If she wasn’t human trafficked, she still went somewhere after the hotel room. But we can’t say that for sure.
