If someone goes missing the next cruise should be cancelled. And a full search of the boat and investigation should occur. Period. If they avoid that from occurring theyre trying to cover something up or trying to hide something

Brit Ann no shit hey..it’s like stop the god damn boat right where you are..call the coast guard..start searching now! Don’t wait until the damn trip is over. This is horrible! Imagine is this was someone’s child that went missing..the parents would be frantic and shit would have gotten done because other passengers would have seen it and word would spread about it after docking but because this girl had no one there to advocate for her..they just move along like nothings happening. I am absolutely fuming for this family😡

This freaks me out! I went on a Disney WONDER cruise back in 2010 when I was 12! I remember vividly walking around trying to find my lost camera by myself. I went with my aunt and uncle and they made me go by myself because i literally lose everything I touch and they were annoyed that I left it there. I remember being in the arcade and three men followed me from the arcade to the help desk. The lady at the desk asked me if I was with them, I said no and she escorted me back to my aunt and uncle. Never thought much about it until now.

I went on a cruise when I was 17 and had some very odd experiences. I was going with my friend, her sister and their parents. I had my own room on a different level and I was somehow listed as 18. Which meant I was given a wrist band to drink. Within 5 minutes of checking into my room, alone, my phone started ringing. Calls only came in from the ship. It was a worker on the boat asking me to come to a party on the boat. This was one of several calls from workers on the boat and I also received several notes slipped under my door asking me to meet them. But, never leaving a signature. It was weird and extremely excessive. I made sure that I was never alone after that and when I showed up with other people at the meeting spots, no one approached me. When I started researching true crime and realized how many people vanish on cruise ships, I came to believe that cruise ships are used for human trafficking. I believe I was targeted on that boat and I am forever grateful that I was smart and made sure I was never alone. This is all speculation about what happened to me but my intuition tells me I am right. I, unfortunately, believe that Rebecca was a victim of human trafficking. It is so sad. I would never ever go on a cruise again. It is so corrupt and with basically no laws. I can't believe they continue on when someone is missing. This is the perfect setting for criminals to commit crimes. I pray somehow she is rescued if she is still alive.

That really bugs me out. I’ve been on many Disney cruises in the past, specifically on the Wonder. I would take part in the teen areas and as you may imagine kids of that age will try engaging in sexual activity, but very rarely would anything happen because we were all convinced that cameras were everywhere and you’d be caught in a second. Doesn’t sound like the security features are as good as we gave them credit for lol.

Why is no one finding out who she was on the phone too on the deck. They could check phone records easily and ask them what she was upset about
@emilyryan4688
@emilyryan4688 4 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. That phone call was the answer to alllll of this. Anyone is capable of anything if they get bad news. She may have been blackmailed. She may have done something wrong and been found out. There's literally a million things that could have happened and that phone call would determine everything as it was the last time she's seen and she was distressed! . Also, how have we not fixed this issue of whos law protects those on the cruise ships?! It should be the country that owns the company teamed with the country the victim belongs too. Its so painfully obvious I can't believe its not a thing. Like even if the crime involved someone from a third or fourth country, they would also have to be involved. Or is this too simple?
@emilyryan4688
@emilyryan4688 4 жыл бұрын
Either way they should have to have CCTV everywhere proper security on board and access to help if needed. Every country should have to agree so the cruise ships only go to where these laws are followed.

I have to say as a former Disney employee they know exactly what you are doing at all times. No matter if you are working or not. You get on a cruise ship and call out of work from another park, you’re done. Same with being in the parks they know what you are buying, what ride you are on or where you are in the park. You have a Disney id that is scanned everywhere you go and if she was buying anything on that boat with her discount they would have known. I find it highly unlikely that they don’t know what happened with all the cameras that are on this boats. You can’t turn a corner without Disney security watching from a camera or undercover in a park what would make the cruises any different.

I highly doubt it was any different back then based upon my experiences and my friend's experiences as annual pass holders and employees at DL in the early 2000s to now. Every little thing is micromanaged to make the guests feel like they are in a "magical" location. The cruise ship would be no exception.

When I was in college, my Hospitality professor spoke very openly about hating cruise ships and telling us about how certain laws and protections you are used to on dry land can get blurred especially when you’re out in international waters. This can cause a huge grey area that tends to get exploited often. He definitely convinced me to never go or work on one. And after seeing your two videos on these missing women, there needs to be more transparency and harsher regulations with these major cruise line companies. They do not do enough to combat/curb these cruise ship crimes.

My theory is that she witnessed or experienced something (sadly rape comes to mind) and she was thrown over to keep it quiet. I equate it to higher-ups protecting themselves, whatever it takes. Disney is so large and works 100 times harder to protect itself as a company than doing the right thing (like taking care of its employees).

Gregorian Do you remember the video that her girlfriend commented on? Be careful with reading “The Sun”. They are definitely not a reliable news source, and normally twist stories and tabloids to make them more alluring or interesting, all for their own benefit (and it’s extremely common for them to add a fabricated sexual twist to stories, just for shock value and attention). They’re the equivalent of the really bad celebrity gossip magazines in the store that have fake stories plastered all over the cover. As for her girlfriend saying Rebecca’s parents are lying, who really knows if the girlfriend can be trusted, especially if there were people saying it was a toxic relationship. I’d imagine that the parents know much more about their daughter whom they’ve known her entire life. They seem like they were very close and loved her very much, as proven by them being in LA when the cruise ship arrived back to unload, and forcing their way onto the ship to try and figure things out for themselves because they weren’t getting any help. I don’t feel like it’s right for the girlfriend to be criticizing the parents, who are the driving force behind figuring out what happened to their daughter. It seems quite disrespectful to me. The only thing anyone who truly loved Rebecca should be focusing on is getting answers, causing drama is unnecessary and unhelpful.

Her husband also made a comment that id "grow up nice and pretty". this obviously really freaked my mom out and she didnt let me let go of her hand unless we were sitting or inside the cabin. I even have a picture with the lady, because she would also follow me when we docked and walked around islands. Creepy af

i know im a little late but i was recently on a royal Caribbean cruise for a week over christmas 2018 and 2 days into sailing one of the crew went messing overboard and never once did we notice anything wrong. no one frantically searching (or searching at all for that matter), no announcements, nothing to give you any indication that something was wrong. the only reason I even heard of someone on the ship going overboard was from overhearing someones conversation about it. he was in one of the musicals on the ship and all they did was replace his part and continue performing the show without anyone knowing. cruise ships are sketchy.

On my very first cruise in 2017, one of the crew members had a heart attack. Apparently, they normally fly a medi-copter in, but the winds were too high. So we had to turn around to go back to Miami, to get this man care. We only knew what was going on because we were outside on the deck and saw things happening. No announcement was ever made. We learned the next day that the poor man had passed. I visibly saw crew members upset or crying. They tried so hard to put on a “happy face” but they’re not robots, they’re people. I just feel so bad for the crew and all these families. I love cruising, but there’s just so much shady stuff going on...

I went on a cruise in 2018 out of New Orleans. My younger brother made a friend who ended up hanging out with us in our room. The friend’s mom started to get worried because she didn’t know where he went. Apparently had it been 20 more minutes with no sign of him, they would of stopped the cruise ship, called the coast guard, and done a full search of the ship. The fact that this wasn’t done for her is outrageous.

Truly disgusting. Thanks for raising awareness on this. I would 100% never go on a cruise, I think they're dodgy as hell and a breeding ground for human traffickers. Interpol should be on every ship, and the companies profiting on endangering their guests and staff should be forced to release full stats on crime. It's just so obvious that criminals target ships. I am from Vienna and a few months ago something horrible happened. Vienna is a VERY safe City like literally nothing ever happens, and it’s a big city! So when this happened the community was shocked. A little girl, she was 7 years old, went missing while playing with her friends. Her brother was supposed to watch them but he was just bored so he wasn’t paying attention. I’m not quite sure how long the police were looking but a few days later, she was found. In the trash in a plastic bag, violently murdered. Everybody was very freaked out. The neighbor confessed after a few days saying he just had a very bad day and FELT like killing someone. But suddenly he changed his story, telling the authorities his dad helped him and so on. Nobody knows what really happened yet. I know it’s an international case but I think that it’s very important to raise awareness because a beautiful 7 year old girl was murdered and PUT IN THE TRASH like she was worth nothing. I don’t know it just upsets me very much. Please like so she sees this! Lots of love❤️

@maggiequinncloud

We do, the Coast Guard. The problem is that ships are somewhat of a grey area when it comes to law. The majority of their voyage is in international waters (12 nautical miles away from any land) which is an area that doesn’t fully belong to any specific country, and therefor isn’t governed by any specific set of laws other than maritime law. These cases can be especially difficult to prosecute as maritime law is one of the least updated and most intricate legal sectors, especially considering each country has their own version. Because of this, cruise ships aren’t even required to report crimes to any governing body, and the question of which country investigates it if they DO is frequently up for debate. What we need is a worldwide investigate service specifically for crimes committed in international waters, but getting the world to agree on anything is next to impossible.
@maggiequinncloud
@maggiequinncloud 3 жыл бұрын
@@ashleenicole71 I️ agree, but you can’t apply one country’s laws to a ship that will be stopping in MANY countries with citizens from many different countries aboard. That’s why there needs to be an international investigative service that looks into crimes committed in international waters, but to be honest, maritime law is as bad as it is because it’s next to impossible to find any evidence of a crime on a cruise ship. The boat is the crime scene and thousands of people are trampling all over it until it’s able to dock. So even then, all investigators would have to go off of is circumstantial evidence. I️ agree that something has to be done, and that maritime law isn’t sufficient, but realistically I’m not sure how much could be done without damaging the cruise line industry and NO country wants that, they all need the tourism it brings too much to care unfortunately, and all would have to come to an agreement to change maritime law, and like I️ said, getting the world to agree on anything isn’t very likely to happen.

Something sketchy that happened on cruise I was on when I was young: My sisters and cousin were in a separate room from my parents and I and one day when we came back to our rooms my sister told me to come to hers. She showed me a XXXL red t-shirt that was placed in her suitcase that definitely was not hers and she didn't pack it. We laughed it off but it was definitely strange.

This case is so sad and so scary. I remember the first time I came across it, I just had this bad vibe about Disney and the way they're trying to keep it quiet, keep it from the media, the parents, even the police. The right thing to do would've been to literally stop everything, all operations on that boat and publicly help in any way they can. Why be so fkng sketchy about it. Is it really just about money? I think they know exactly what happened. So cruel to make her family go through this... 😔

Disney Diva I love Disney but it's absolutely true. from paying off people with lifetime passes, too paying off legal suits to end them quietly so no one knows. Disney is really good at hiding any dark parts. I assure you that little boy who died from the attack by an alligator was not the first person to be attacked by one but he was the first to pass away. you should talk to people who have worked there in the past there's a lot to know about Disney. that being said I mean it's Disney World it's amazing I would definitely stay away from cruises though they have issues with regulations for all cruises. They don't keep on top of guests or workers well enough to know where they are and if they lose you often they assume they've lost you at a port which would assumably be your own fault for not getting to the ship unless perhaps you are kidnapped and abducted into sex trafficking or something terrible. groups Target people from cruises cuz they know it takes time before people start looking for them and by then they can make you disappear, that's actually something I read in a book by police officer who deals in sex trafficking cases.

I went on a cruise ship with my friend when I was 19 and so many times early in the morning I would go for a run and then make tea. I've only encountered other kind morning people and I'm lucky because not everyone is like this.
