This is a government-owned liquor store near Kochi's High Court Junction. When you first go in, there's a premium counter on your left where you may choose what you need and get a variety of quality liquors and cool beers. Every liquor store in Kerala is owned by the state government and shares a similar appearance.

You get 2 type of counter system.Locals buy through counter system which u used in video also there is premium counter which u can select by hand like super market got collection of liquors indian made or foreign made foreign made is expensive in kerala Due to Tax. Different states have different tax. Beer is cheap.4 litre allowed per person (for locals i think).

I’m from Australia and been travelling back and forth to India over the past 8 years. In regards to tuk tuk drivers you just say i will tip you well at the end of tour so please don’t take me to factories, craft stores etc I know India and won’t buy! It works be gentle be generous and they respect you remember you and bless you. Gerald I used over 2 days in fort kochi took me to lu lu mall waited etc and grabbed my hands day two to bless me for my big kind heart ❤I have his phone number and u just called him day 2 and he came with in minutes that day touring fort kochi he say pay what you want he refused to say an amount but what I gave him he blessed my hands so obviously enough! He’s happy the 3 of us happy so a win win for everyone 🙏 best way to visit and see India 🇮🇳 they have nothing please respect them and remember this compared to us ‘nothing’

What a good (big) heart. I had this same experience in fort cochin, thy wont name an amount even though I am an Indian. so i ended up paying more which I dont regret at all. 90 percent of auto drivers are good and helpful if we treat them like they are human!

You could've taken Water Metro instead of regular ferry. It's the first and only water metro in Whole Asia

Liquor sale is done exclusively under government organisations/departments except sale through bars, There also it can only be served , no bottle sale.

Go to munnar, Waynad , Aleppy house boating , athirapalli waterfalls, jadayu etc nothing much to see in kochi. Beef and porotta authentic food puttu and fish too

The auto driver ( tuck tuck as you call ) are very resourceful, but some of them are unscrupulous especially the ones in north India and in Tamil Nadu, as regards to the liquor stores , in Kerala they are hidden from public eye , though everyone drinks ..but one can make out these shops miles away as you will find serpentine queues of tipplers ( interestingly , it’s only for liquor we indians can patiently wait for hours !) the stuff the lady gave you is very cheap stuff.. she may not know what’s good and bad.. ideally good Indian whiskies are Royal Challenge, Royal stag barrel select, Peter Scot, signature, 100 pipers , we also have some fabulous single malts like Indri, John Paul, Amrut etc.. a suggestion - avoid Kochi, alleppy circuit , it’s become too touristy , predictable and window dressed. try north Malabar , Calicut, Wayanad, Kannur , Mahe ( my hometown ❤ and erstwhile French colony) trust me you will be awed by the natural beauty, food and rich cultural heritage ..

Packages sounds easy and hassle free here but there is a lot of hidden agenda behind them. Reminds me of going for a haircut, where the barber never listens to you and want to give his own spin. As an Indian myself, even I was scammed once in Bangalore. Never take rickshaw in Bangalore, always Uber, then Ola. Uber and Ola rickshaw is fine. I had booked a hotel in Bangalore with the pay at the hotel option. After taking the rickshaw, the driver was insisting on taking me to a different hotel. He said it's brand new hotel and it's better than the one I booked. It was early morning, I was tired, barely slept, I thought why not, I will try this so called new hotel. The hotel accommodated me in a room close their room service phone, it never stopped ringing. I couldn't sleep even for a second. Finally, got my bag and left the hotel without even telling them I'm checking out and went to the hotel I had booked earlier. After that incident, I avoid rickshaw at all cost.

Yes i won't take any more of those package tours. Other than that, we have had very good experiences with the rickshaw drivers. Outside of tourist areas they are the best. Tourist areas bring out the worst in people it seems

It seems you guys are too new to this part of the world.....Its better to take a tour package....from a reputed tour company (in Kerala)....its not expensive and You can avoid getting scammed(which is very rare in Kerala compared to other places). There is no problem in saying no if some one forces you, also you can dial 100 (kerala police will help you at any point)

Seriously though you are Arguing over peanuts 🥜 that’s the trouble with a lot of foreigners they get to caught up in a few rupees which means so much more to the people of India than us. I got a tuk tuk guy over 2 days took me everywhere I’d googled even Lu Lu mall I tipped him well paid well for tour and everytime Gerald saw us he wanted to prayer both my hands saying you very big hearted lady. Better to leave a positive message about tourists than screw them senseless 🙏 travelled India 10 times and always they remember me when I return🙏 famous lassi Walla Jaipur‘she’s back!’ To Shakir everytime I come❤ this is a good thing to do. In relation to stores just tell them you will tip them well and you won’t get this problem anywhere or anytime in India again. Btw I’m from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
