Yes, but my point of the video was that each treatment makes your curls looser & looser. I liked the way the 1st treatment first made my curls & I learned the hard way that the KT will continually straighten your curls if you don't wait till all of the previous keratin is 100% out. For someone who wants straight hair, this would of been a great step towards that goal, but for me, I wanted to keep my tight curls but with the help from the keratin to control them. :)

Not yet. This is my second treatment so the Keratin bonds are very strong now. I think by December or January my curls SHOULD be fully back. For someone who has hair that lacks curl definition I would most likely think the Keratin Treatment would help bring out a little more natural girl. I definitely would give it a try.

I paid $100 (the price depends on how much hair you have, the amount of product they must use, and how long it takes to complete the treatment) and the brand is "Coppola Keratin Complex"
@Luhhsetty11 жыл бұрын
I definitely would recommend to wait until you are completely natural. The Keratin is very much still a chemical process, so 2 chemicals on top of each other is never good. Yes, The Keratin helped define my curls and helped the curls to become more visible. Before (natural hair), my hair was "frizzy" and all over the place! :) good luck
@Luhhsetty11 жыл бұрын
yes! I had my first one done is August and within weeks I saw new growth. I got my second one in January and now its been 4-5 months and I have about 3-4 inches of new growth on average around my head. This is a big deal for me because my hair grows super slow!
@Luhhsetty11 жыл бұрын
I know this scared me when I looked into it. Keratin treatments actually contain a derivative of formaldehyde which is not very dangerous. They have banned all of the Brazillian Blowout Treatments in the USA which are harmful.

I wash my hair every week with a sulfate shampoo. Don't over wash because your hair will get really dried out! Also, I have been doing conditioning treatments every time I wash my hair (once a week with a conditioner with ZERO protein) If you want a quick fix, go to the beach. The salt in the water will revert your curl. You could also Add salt to water and soak you hair in it. Make sure you condition after because this will dry out your hair! good luck :)
@Luhhsetty11 жыл бұрын
+Kayla Bonnet Trust me.. it took MONTHS for my hair to show signs of reverting. Use sulfate shampoos and conditioner that has zero protein in it. It's just a matter of time, they all come back and spring up on ya!

How many months? My daughter is biracial and had super curly hair. Our hairdresser talked us into the non-faladyhyde keratin and I was in tears after b/c her hair was SO much less curly. It IS super soft and still has curls, but some of it is straight and stringy. I have called the company and they promise that her curls will come back…probably in 90 or less washes. Did your hair ever get its' curls COMPLETELY back?

haha thank you! And yes! That is what drove me crazy, because my hair would be really long when wet, or when I straightened it and when it dried, it shrank up to my shoulders! The keratin treatment helped with that tremendously. :)

I learned my lesson too with the Keratin treatment. In the profile pic, I didn't have one. I didn't know my hair would stay straight forever. I thought the Keratin was a process where my hair was just softer and straighter without a relaxer and I would still be able to wear curly styles. You live and learn. I know I will never get another one. I miss being able to wear curly hair styles.

I have had the Encanto Brazilian Keratin for 3 years and love it. They had advised each successive treatment my hair would get straighter and smoother. This it has done. My hair is healthy shiny and growing. I have cut 8 inches off in that time and not from split ends !! It grows and grows !
@DeathtotheAshes5 жыл бұрын
Keratin is for those who regularly blow it out, not air dryers. Each keratin service has a commulative effect. Meaning, the more you do it, the straighter the previously treated hair will be. Which is why she had fish hook ends. It’s a smoothing/straightening treatment.
@DeathtotheAshes5 жыл бұрын
Fancy_jai No. It’s permanent until your roots grow out. Your mids to ends will not magically get curly through time. Only the roots will be virgin.

the point of the treatment is to straighten hair without hurting the curl pattern. so that you can have bone straight hair and THEN still have a beautiful curl pattern after the treatment fades. some girls are extremely protective of their curly hair, but still might want to see what their straight hair will look like

Good luck, this happened to me. I have bsl 4c natural hair. I received my 1st Keratin treatment in October... I loved it at first but after 3 months my hair was growing really fast and my stylist wanted to give me a 2nd treatment but my ends were not reverting back. I will not get another treatment. 10 months later and my hair is not the same... Great video!

The keratin Treatment infuses your hair with keratin, expanding the hair follicle, which makes your hair straighter and smoother. It does NOT get rid of all curl for only ONE treatment. I have another video on my channel explaining it more. (: "My Keratin Experience (Before and After)"

I absolutely love your hair! its beautiful after the keratin treatment and everything seems perfect. Im getting my very first keratin treatment done on saturday and im so nervous as ive read so much blogs about the hair falling out and being damaged n thinned after doing the keratin treatment on your hair after the third time...i see that this second treatment for you was last year so you would have done alot by now. Is the keratin treatment really damaging on the hair and does it make it thin and brittle? Thanks so much

No the Keratin is supposed to do the opposite. It helps your hair grow and with frizz. Its supposed to help your dry time and frizz but not ur curl pattern.

I had not idea what I might face when I plan to get the second treatment in a few months. You really opened my eyes to that and made me aware that it may not be as great. I really felt your pain :'-). We, women, especially naturals, are really tied to our hair. After all, we put so much time and effort into it (hence all these youtube videos on hair!). why would you get keratin treatment if you didnt want your hair to straighten and relax?
@Luhhsetty11 жыл бұрын
After my 1st treatment, my curls were perfect. The part about the Keratin that I wanted to utilize is the way it loosens your curls without being permanent (my curls are so tight it could never straighten my hair fully). After my 2nd treatment, my curls became waves which I did not want. I did want the KT to relax my hair, but to an extent.

OMG, I can't believe I actually found a legit curly-haired example on youtube. I see people claiming to be curly, but they don't know what curl is til they see my hair! I have mixed girl hair and my curls are a tad tighter than your (natural) curls. But I love the result of your 2nd Keratin treatment. I have a quick question. When and if you wore it natural after your 1st and 2nd treatment, did your curls shrink and make your style shorter? Mine usually do and i can never wear it natural !!

when you get a keratin treatment it's made to wear your hair straight for 6months than after that your hair is suppose to revert back to normal. If you only want your hair straight for three days I recommend just getting a blow out.

omg I finally found my curly twin! I had almost exact the same natural curls as you did, but I've only done one BK treatment, in June 2013. However, in my country, formadelhyde is prohibited so I did av version without it, and the haridresser said it was necessary to do a texturizer first, or else there wouldn't be any results. So I did and I was about as shocked as you were in this video... like, I miss my big froooo! Good for you that you didn't get a texturizer before because that kinda makes the keratin permanent :( So now I'm transitioning back to normal. Idk, I just wanted to say hello and that YES I finally found a girl with the same curls as myself. I'm into the big fro now so I'm just waiting for mine to grow out aha. Even though I too kind of loved the keratin smoothness. Good luck with your hair :)

If you don’t want your hair texture to change too much you need to do hair Botox instead of a keratin treatment. Hair Botox basically do the same thing but doesn’t alter your hair texture much. I’m also a hairdresser who do these treatments. Look into hair Botox treatments

Just go with curls if you want curls ,and flat iron for straight styles ! you can just deep condition before and after flat ironing !why a chemical process to loosen curls ! you didn't like your loose curls !lots of money for what ! try large Velcro rollers or a steam straight iron from Walmart Remington Wet To Straight ,just use heat protectant first ! Works great !

I find it interesting that you get keratin to loosen your curls and enjoy it straight but then you want more curls. The more you do keratin, the less curls you will see. this is normal. unfortunately no one is happy with what they get it seems ...

Our hair has to be nourished from both inside and out side. Blood carries the vitamins, fatty acids to hair cell from inside, However, we can support our hair from the root to tip with some natural oil and hair care product. Her hair grows faster than before, which looks shiny and healty. check it out

I finally got my hair relaxed today. It took about 3 hours. My curls have loosened and my hair is closer to the scalp. My curls actually move! My hair length used to be above my shoulders and under my ears when fully dried with a blow dryer and now my hair sits under my shoulders. The chemicals they used on my hair were not harsh, I didn't get much irritation. The hair dresser that I went to wouldn't relax my hair if i permanently dyed or coloured it. There is still shrinkage. I still have my curls, they are not that stringy. However, the treatment and conditioner they put into my hair made my hair feel icky and not that great to touch. Where should I send you the before and after pictures, if you want to see them? (I'm that girl that commented on your instagram post)

Isn't a relaxer a chemical process that straightens your hair permanently not a product that loosens your texture into a not so tight curl ? You know like "Just For Me". I thought a texturizing was used to loosen your curls but not straighten it completely like a relaxer would.
