A high-intensity Tabata style workout you can do at home, all you need is a single kettlebell. I bought one of these up as soon as they become available again after the big sellout during the lockdown, they really expand what's possible for you to do with your training at home. So if you're going to invest in one piece of exercise equipment, a single kettlebell is a good choice.

I've enjoyed your channel Chase! Love the emphasis on fitness for hiking. As we get older it's very important for backpacking enjoyment and to prevent injury. I've found the HIIT works well for me! Thanks for the videos!

I've been looking for HIIT ideas for at home, Kettlebells sounds good and its antagonist training for me as I normally train with climbing in mind.

This workout is definitely appreciated and would love any others you can recommend. Training for my first "big" mountain climb, Mt. Shasta.

just done it; unfortunately I only have 2x12s, so I used both for the squat and the deadlift. Really good session.

Ha, this looks deceptively easy.. Well, I made it through round 6, with a 16kg, and then I was toast! Thanks for the workout :)

More cardio yes but also at the right level. Do you have a HR monitor?

@@ChaseMountains yes i do, not sure if it's accurate though (i'm using a smartwatch with HR). I'm also interested in your element progam, will it cover the cardio part extensively? Or should I go for a more specific cardio/endurence program?

@@ttia464 elements gives you a ALOT of technical info on building an aerobic base. It's worth buying it just to ease into training and understand the basics, you could follow that up with uphill endurance that would be my suggestion! Uphill endurance has a bunch of sessions that are high intensity and are super specific to hiking so that's probably the way to go!

@@Frontfight I have checked it. It's kettlebell from Decathlon and orange stripe on it means it's 16kg
