The timing of the hand insertion in the mid swing for the Kettlebell Snatch is one of the important components to a smooth and graceful snatch.
Try this for practice:
Swing
Get to weightless point
Insert mid swing
Back to swing
Snatch
Propel the bell forward with strong hips and as the bell "floats" in mid air, let it go and trust you will catch it at the right time.
