People try to make being great difficult but it truly is simple if you’re just disciplined and consistent and I love that you explain this so well 👏🏽

Discipline is important. The general vibe I get from the word seems harmful. I'm talking general-ttpe shouting and pressure. Discipline can trigger the rebound effect; by actively avoiding something the next time you're prompted there will be a stronger mental response making it harder to resist. Healthy discipline is great, but I see discipline as the idea of culminating immense wllpower too much . Healthy discipline is gently keeping yourself on-track through almost third-person bystander like analysis of your actions as opposed to army general shouting. I can say for sure it's not simple optimising your life. It has simple steps, but as a whole it requires very active monitoring and reflection. In the moments you trip don't be the army general. Take a moment to find yourself and think about it all. Stubbornness is a real pain when trying to optimise

I noticed eating only till I was 80% full helped me be energised and feel lighter. Opened up a whole new world and the feeling of control when you strictly manage your portions is satisfying as well. And thats the easy part of living in the medschool dorms.

Sleep, Exercise, and Nutrition are key. After watching a few of your videos talking about these things, I started to take it more seriously and I can already notice the improvement. And I don't even drink energy drinks anymore haha

As a diabetes researcher, I am super excited about blood glucose monitoring going mainstream. 💯 Chronically high blood glucose is associated with deterioration of pretty much every organ (heart, brain, blood vessels, eyes etc). Blood glucose is underrated, but it really is the root of many of today’s diseases. Having said that, insulin levels should always be measured simultaneously with blood glucose for glucose levels to be meaningful. Why? It is possible to have great blood glucose levels but at the expense of extremely high insulin levels, which can deteriorate beta cell function and thus glucose control long term. Hopefully insulin monitoring is also adopted in the near future!

Two weeks ago I broke my ankle and I’m so sad I cannot do anything. I miss moving my body and I now understand how important it is for taking a break from studying . Can’t wait to turn back on track 🥺

I spent my medical school drinking, partying, socialising, and playing an enormous amount of Stellaris (2000+ hours), and I still got honours. You gonna drink as a doctor so might as well start early to build up the tolerance. Disclaimer: Don't follow what I did.

I'm a t1 diabetic med student and still can't get my hands on a CGM because of my ✨geographical position✨. You just rubbed salt on my wound 😭😭

Lol I need coffee/caffeine consistently and I already do most of the stuff in this video. I could always do better with sleep, but I’ve always eaten healthy, and meal prepped healthy food since I first started med school, track calories/macros, and lifted weights/exercises consistently for several years. Probably sleep 7-8 hours most nights with an occasional 6 hr night 1, maybe 2x a week max. I definitely still require a full 8 cup pot of coffee every morning though. I don’t have a headache or anything if I don’t have coffee like during vacations/trips. But without it, I’m tired and prone to falling asleep

I can recommend intermittent fasting and chewing every bite 40 times. Its the easiest thing. Other than that I count calories with an app and weigh myself every morning.
