I have always had weight fluctuations based on my lifestyle and self esteem has been trouble for me. I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to be healthy INside, not just have an outward healthy appearance. God’s Word and the many Biblical principles that I have learned have been a HUGE blessing on my weight management. I exercise regularly, eat 100% plants, and do intermittent fasting which helps greatly with appetite and self control issues. Thank God for the health message! Great video, Doc! Very enlightening and helpful!

Your Bible study guide and video study was so helpful. I don't want to get an illness because of something I'm doing to my health. Im 66 and alone, work full time. I have to be well and healthy. I think consist exercise is the hardest for me. Time management, making it a priority. So grateful to God I found your videos several years ago ❤❤❤❤🙏

Thank you Dr. Marcum! I am trying to lose weight at age 62 after 2 years on night shift, during which time I gain a lot of weight. And it is a very hard process. I am doing most of the things you suggested and needed the reminders and encouragement, especially this morning after seeing very little in terms of results! Right now in my mind it seems that I will never lose this weight or regain the level of health I had before. But God! We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!

I would advise you to assess your emotional state. Check to see if there is an alignment between your emotions and nutrition.

Hi Dr . Marcum, I absolutely love listening to you. I have a question are collagen powders helpful with weight loss but more importantly can they be bad for the heart. I read some studies that said they can build up plaque in the arteries. In this day and age it’s hard to tell truth from lies. Thank you!

Praise has helped me. See Psalms 22:3 and we are grafted in See Roman's 11:17. I find my helper is the Holy Spirit! What can block that are in James and 1 John 4.

@@BiblicalPrescriptionsforLifeI developed normal eating patterns for Overeaters Anonymous before I retired in 2016 as a Registered Dietitian. The person who has them was involved with headquarters and is a retired RN in Fredrrick Md.. I felt there was too much starve and binge and they need to learn normal intake. .I found the less time and attention on food from a weekly pattern helped me stay in control. I have scriptures that back 12 step principles. More focus on 12 steps, feelings.and the Lord. Jesus has the most power as a higher power.

Two of my first starts were exercise and healthy foods but I have seen obese vegans. 1/2 cup of legumes are 70 calories but 1 Oz of lean meat is 35 calories. Also the beans need 1/2 cup of grain ( another 70 calories)to be a complete protein. If your going to eat a sandwich with 1 Oz of meat and mayo, you may as well try some hummus instead with veggies. But no mayo on the sandwich. I had to make an attitude change about exercise. Started with something fun first.

I've struggled with my weight my entire adult life. I get very discouraged and feel so down. I finally was starting to lose weight back in 2017, but immediately got pregnant. Continued my weight loss until I had my baby and then spiraled downhill from there. I have no friends, no family nearby and I feel disgusting. My husband does not complain, but I feel deep down like I'm a whale. Its' hard to take on all of these roles as stay at home wife, mother, teacher (I homeschool my son) and work two part time jobs so I CAN stay at home. Just all of it is overwhelming and I struggle. Lord, please help me.
