I'm more confused than angry about the micro 3D printer scam, all thanks to that low budget documentary they decided to make using 0.001% of the money they accumulated from the backers. Considering that resin printers in '14 were still stupid pricey and the resin itself is still painful to the wallet despite the existence of legit $150 resin printers now.. yeah, that was 100% a scam. The proof is that no one built the plans that were released. The maker community would have been all over that if it had been even remotely legit.

That they are just calmly sitting there discussing it seems very strange. That David would ge infront of the camera and just admit to it seems very strange as well to me. It smells like a planned cover up to make them look like they did everything to make it seem as they wanted to be as open as possible about it, so that backers wouldn't make too much of a fuss. But then again, you could just vanish and never give another update ever again like that Air Umbrella campaign for example and keep the money either way.

@Hammerhead5474 жыл бұрын
@@uselessDM My guess is that they either squandered all of the money on themselves or one of them was in deep with a loan shark and that's where the $750.000 went. I don't know what part of canada they're from but there's no way that's a $200.000+ house unless they live in saskatchewan, most other places like ontario quebec or bc that's easily a $500.000+ home not including the value of the property itselfm
@gus_valadares4 жыл бұрын
Extremely unlikely. In order to institute a laudering scheme you have to have a very complex organization to mix the dirty money with the clean money so Kickstarter alone wouldn't be enough. Also, they have to be very low profile and avoid too much exposition and detail. They need to avoid leaving the tracking of the money. And they admitting to run away with the money like they did it's pinning the accusation on theirselves. To begin with, almost 4500 real people are backing this project so, there are at 4500 people in constant monitoring of this thing. Kickstarter it's a very high traffic website where succesful projects go viral you Yourtube and websites, not exactly a low profile place to do that. The scammers behind this travesty have shown their faces and purposely drawn attention to their scam with video publicity, photos, actors and all. Most important of all, Money laudering schemes avoid at all costs to encourage people to look at their scam. They are idiot scammers that, whatever they did to the money, now they think it's smart making a drama to get away with the job

well the peachy printer is pretty easy, call the canadian feds, report him for tax fraud AND for his theft. they will take possession of his home and his possessions and sell it and use the money to refund the backers. then he will go to a federal prison. when making a judgement in regards to stolen money anything purchased with the money is also legally considered to be stolen and will be taken, this includes a home or car.

Especially the part about the team being more or less broke along with being hilariously mismanaged financially too the point that they literally had to beg fans for table scraps to get too their last race. They spent their last season so lacking in sponsorship that they adorned the empty spaces on their cars with signage that read "this could be you", "your name here" and "this space is nice" which is the F1 equivalent too a street corner beggars sign saying "hungry and homeless, please help".

It talks about a lot of films but some films get a literal 20 seconds of time and most of the time is spent on films we all already know everything about. Also the marketing was full of FOMO bullshit and it charged through the nose for physical and digital releases. I fully expect In Search of Tomorrow to be the same. Don't waste your money.

Atomic Shrimp has done several videos about stupidly cheap storage devices from Facebook, I'd recommend checking them out. Assuming they send you anything at all, it will be a 32GB (If you're lucky) drive that has been spoofed to fool the computer into thinking it's 2TB. Those peachy printer guys and their amateur dramatics friends basically got a free house plus all the backers money leftover and walked into the sunset with it. That printer was a fake and all the people in that video were in on it and getting a cut. So basically 3d printer guy agreed to let his partner embezzle money as a loan on the condition that he made a weird video admitting to it (in the past tense) which would then be released if the partner did not pay back the money in a timely fashion. He didn't like the thing, but wasn't willing to actually stop it because the guy had given him the money to start the project in the first place and so instead he came up with the weird video idea which he thinks puts him in the clear by having the other guy take all the blame in advance. Innovation of all sorts comes from people who think differently than others. I'll totally buy that the guy who (at least thought) he figured out a way to produce a dirt cheap 3d printer also thought he had come up with a brilliant original solution to how to deal with his partner illegally "borrowing" money without it becoming a problem. It didn't work out in either case.
