My moms a high school teacher and her class is severely underfunded / has no resources. She wants to put her own money into things like a projector, speakers, paper, etc. but I told her she absolutely shouldn't and that kids would steal that shit. THE NEXT DAY she calls me and tells me she caught kids stealing things from the bathroom and class. It's just infuriating. Do kids not realize that when they steal things from school, they're not just stealing from the board but potentially from a selfless teacher that spent their own hard-earned cash on improving their education? It's so sad.

I’m glad that I’m not doing my student teaching this semester and I mean this is just really bad. This whole trend reminds me of how my ex would tell me stories about when he stole Go-Pros and a microphone from our school. He also had no problem talking about how he was caught sneaking in at night by a security guard, and got a gun pulled on him (security guard got fired for it, obviously). my devious lick is that in high school I had this zoology book but got switched out of that class within the first semester and constantly forgot to give it back and when I finally remembered to bring it in my bag I was too shy and didn't know who to give it to so I ended up just graduating later with it. When I was in the 5th grade, the other boys in my school decided to fuck around in the bathroom and trash it. Toilet paper and paper towels everywhere, the soap dispensers were broken, and even a urinal was broken off the wall from guys jumping around on it. I never used public bathrooms, but everyone else lost bathroom breaks all day. No one was allowed to use the bathrooms during the day. That’s considered abuse, right?
