The funniest thing to me throughout this movie is how Uma Thurman's hairstyle constantly changes. For example, when she bought her ticket to Tokyo, her hair was straight, shorter and choppy. When she gets to Tokyo, her hair is long and slightly curly. This happens throughout the film.

O-Ren's father was an American soldier on a military base in Japan. One of her parents, probably her father, had Chinese heritage, possibly mixed with Caucasian blood, and her other parent, probably her mother, was Japanese. The Yakuza apparently had a bias against anyone not "pure" Japanese. I think O-Ren made it pretty clear that her heritage was bot a topic of discussion. 😉 Your storyline theories are great! Looking forward to seeing your reaction to the second part.

I adore this movie so much! it's a modern day classic. i loved that in Oren's final moments she took the time to apologize for her disrespect. Whether The bride died or Oren herself, she wanted them to part ways in mutual understanding❤

9:30 "Can you imagine...?" Sadly, it happens a lot. And even more sad is there are so many times it goes unnoticed. There was a particularly horrible version that happened not less than a year ago where the woman was in a coma. Later on she got pregnant, and it was found out that it was by an orderly.

Worse still, I think, is a social media post under the article on Facebook, where in the article it was mentioned that every man employed there that may have had access to the patient at or around the time of conception was to be subpoenaed for their DNA in order to run a paternity test. The social media post was rather quite disturbing. It said that whomever was responsible should refuse to give up his DNA, as well as the other men - something akin to an act of solidarity, I guess. This sick individual who wrote the post continued on about how the doctors and cops should look at this as a miracle, and a part of God's plan. Which makes no sense, because even in the Bible - not always the GREATEST source of morality - rape is a sin.

Yes Kemi!!! You're doing Kill Bill : one of my favorite "vengeance is mine" movies of all time and out of all of Quientin Tarrantino films, this is my favorite. I've never met a person that didnt love this movie so I hope you enjoy it. The soundtrack is amazing too. This is one of my favorite movies. I love "The Bride's" lines to Sophie at the end. I'm glad you liked it. I hope you watch volume 2. Volume 1 is WHAT happened, Volume 2 is WHY.

I think Bill let Sophie live. He wouldn't gain anything by killing her. After all, he prevented Elle from killing the comatose Black Mamba in the hospital. I think the revelation that the baby was his caused Bill to pull his shot to the right which is why she lived, because he was surprised. So then, knowing the child was his, he arranged for her care for as long as she lived, and arranged for the baby to be delivered - it was his baby after all. What he did with her, we don't know, but he could have arranged for the little girl to be taken care of. I don't think Bill knew about the abuse and violation going on in the long term "care" facility, or Buck would have died long before - and it would have been a lot more painful, I expect.

32:47, this movie is chock full of veteran actors that Quentin Tarantino grew up watching at the movies. * The bald guy in the Kato mask is played by martial arts great Gordon Liu. He plays another character in Part 2. * The actor playing Hattori Hanzo is the late great Sonny Chiba another martial arts great. His name is referenced in the Tarantino written movie True Romance. His sushi chef/swordmaster character in this movie is so iconic that a character in the third John Wick movie is based upon him. * The actor who plays the old Texas Ranger who finds the bride is played by Michael Parks. He will also play another character in Part 2

Im so glad you reviewed this sis! Kill Bill is my favorite movie. being a women isnt easy and at that time there wasn't a female antagonist that you can relate to. Quintin Tarantino really did his work with this movie. please watch part 2. its an amazing first movie. Elle driver's whistling scene is and always been my ringtone, the whistle tune and I refuse to change it. because I have been betrayed before. because I know how it feels to want revenge. I THINK I WATCHED THIS MOVIE OVER 1000 TIMES. The female characters all have been sexualized and traumatized but somehow they are the most ruthless. the soundtrack is also fire. big shout outs to THE RZA from he WU Tang Clan for putting his productional intelligence on this movie. Uma Thurman s a female lead actress carried this movie. most if not all down to Vernetta Green's daughter did great portraying these characters. ugh. I can go on and on about the love&respect I have for this movie. but I will stop there.

Oren Ishii is Chinese and Japanese (and American). China & Japan have a complicated history. I believe China occupied Japan at one point. I hope you'll consider watching Ip Man, It's about a very well known martial arts teacher. One of his most famous students was Bruce Lee.

This is an excellent film all around with some brilliant fight scenes. 31:00, by this point the movie has went from simple revenge martial arts into live action anime. Hence the Bride is able to do things that are humanly impossible. Bill and one other person (who will be shown in Part 2) were her masters in the deadly arts and the Bride is literally the Right Hand of Death at this point. So mopping up the O-ren's gang the Crazy 88 is just a workout not a real challenge to her. It should be noted that many fans and critics believe that Quentin Tarantino movies take place in the same fictional universe like the MCU or DCEU. For example, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs have the same brand of cigarettes (i.e. Red Apple) and characters who are family to others (Vincent Vega and Victor Vega aka Mr. Blonde). In this shared fictional universe , Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2 are a martial arts film series playing at the theaters. So this is a movie playing inside of a movie universe. With that in mind definitely forget about physics. LOL.

Tarantino's Martial Arts tribute is so well done - Even those who dislike seeing blood can enjoy this ultra violent homage to Martial Arts films. Vol 1 & Vol 2 was meant to be one long movie, but the production studio demanded that Tarantino reedit it into two.

While Part 2 continues the story it also has more backstory and somewhat less action. Of the 2 parts I prefer Part 2. There is more emption and some great on screen dialog between the characters. It is important to remember that this was intended to be just one film.

Tarantino doing a neo-exploitation homage to martial arts and revenge movies is pretty great. Just wish he hadn't insisted on Uma doing a driving stunt herself (for part2) where she got hurt 🤕 Soundtrack work by RZA (from Wu-Tang) really keeps the energy up.

Great! I think you'll enjoy the second part as much as the first! Yes, I agree, there's a lot of blood on the screen...hahaha. The director Quentin Tarantino has this film aesthetic that is quite violent, but he uses it in such an exaggerated and excessive way that it borders on the absurd and "ridiculous". So if we take this into consideration, the film can be better appreciated. And I can see you got it!
