Nick’s comment about the Trench scene is weird because he says the trench warfare isn’t shown intensely enough so his solution is to not show it at all and they just magically show up in town across the trench

That criticism makes no sense. If they would have explained WW1 they would be criticizing the over explanation of WW1. Plus saying BoP is better is absolute nonsense. It's weird that Nick got hung up on the watch, I feel you can have a grasp on what time is but if you've never seen a watch before and you're just now seeing one then I would probably be curious about it too. The way he then describes what it does probably gave her the wrong idea as well, because she asked what it does and he said "it tells time" followed be it tells you when to wake up when to eat and so on giving her the impression that it also tells him what to do.

One of the problems that I think I have with them adding in movies that are currently playing into the In Reviews is put in the beginning of this. Wonder Woman plays different after watching it again, would Birds of Prey rank where it is if they took a break from the first viewing shine and watched it with a more critical eye. Nothing against Bird's just a thought I've had for a while with this rankings.

DanV900 the plot isn’t nonsensical, it is simple. it was extremely easy to follow and while it didn’t have a million twists, turns, or complicated structures, those things are what make the DCEU as a whole unappealing to most people.

@@DanV900 DanV900 true enough but if a movie is going for zany entertainment and you are entertained by it is it not achieving what it set out to do? I think Guardians of the Galaxy 1 is a better movie than 2 but I don't fault anyone for saying they like 2 more for entertainment and same goes for Thor Ragnarok. when It comes to the InReview list where there might be "better movies" but if someone enjoyed watching one of them more than another that should be noted. I don't think all of my favorite movies are the best movies but I enjoy watching them.

DanV900 your complaints largely stem off of the fact that the movie is loosely connected to suicide squad so it does not connect to plot lines there, and a few jokes that didn’t land. Nothing you brought up makes the plot nonsensical, you just disliked it/thought it was dumb that is completely different. Forget the plot arcs in previous DCEU films, they literally said this was not a continuation of those stories. Also, every single character is utilized well. No one falls into the same category as Katana or Slipknot, as each has not only a backstory, but also a role in the ongoing plot. The only character that is slightly underutilized is Zsasz, but as the KF crew said in their review, he could come back in the future he wasn’t blown to bits. You obviously have gripes with the film, but they are not as objective as you seem to think.

I've only 7 minutes into this podcast, and I disagree. Wonder Woman is DCEU top 3 movie. Story was great and believable and well grounded, CG was on point and consistent and so immersive, Character development was great, love story was great, great music score and wasn't excessive. When Steve was telling WW that you can't just take out one guy and the madness/war is just over, its makes perfect sense (but some of you won't understand it). Ares already whispered into human's ears and those who answered to him took the information and executed for their evil plans to destroy other humans or take control over the world. So yeah Ares is bad for that but also every individual have their own choice (none of them were forced to become evil) and several chose to go down the evil route. Ares is wrong for instigating, and humans who got inspired by Ares are evil for executing on their evil plans. Taking down Ares only stopped that war, but WonderWoman wanted ultimate peace which cannot be done just by killing Ares at this point, because many humans already made the choice of evil since Ares been on Earth for along time. So this mean new wars and evil plans are inevitable to happen since the world is already corrupted. It makes complete sense with the dialogue choice.

I liked this movie very much, this felt very fresh and grounded despite Diana being an immortal Demi-Goddess warrior. Some of lines didn’t click, but the action, the chemistry between Wonder Woman and Steve, the WW1 setting really make this a solid movie. The 3rd act was the weakest part, but I still like the character development of Wonder Woman, and I can’t wait to what her view of saving humanity since she won’t be as naive as she was in this movie. I give this movie the number 1 spot for now.

You guys forgot about them calling Secretary Candy after the battle in the village and being told not to disturb the dinner so they don’t ruin the treaty. Also the muster bombs were on a timer as a crazy failsafe. Also there was the whole confrontation with Doctor poison, the in your face theme of the movie, and im pretty sure she summoned lightning for the first time.

I feel like a lot of the criticisms happened after the internet at large discussed the movie. If you back and watch their original review they did not hate on the third act as much as they do now and Tim hated the theme but loves it now. Feels like they're being influenced. Similar to how Nick thought Black Panther was close to Hulk in quality but then later put it where everyone else put it.

I think the DCEU is getting a lot better now. I loved BVS, but I’m aware that many weren’t, and Suicide Squad came, we all know how that did. Wonder Woman gave me hope that the DCEU will get and it did......just not the next movie after. JL wasn’t bad, but damn it disappointing as hell because it actually could have be SO MUCH BETTER!

In terms of what this movie serves for the character, an introduction, is akin to Captain America. Basically 84 is going to be like Winter Soldier where now that these characters are established we can have fun with them.

This movie was alright, but yes, boring, just like any movie with Superman. Oh, and I love the use of sex appeal constantly in the movie, along with a couple of cheerleader style crotch-shots, but yet is championed as a woman's-rights movie. :)

Ask Jason Fuchs (he got the story by credit), he’ll say Allan (the screenwriter) just watched Cap & altered it just enough (mainly weaving in the WW lore) not to get in trouble.
