Hello. I would really like Mr. Ham to turn his attention to this video, so if you would be so kind as to like the video, you can help make this happen. If you're feeling particularly proactive, sharing and favoriting this video will also be enormously helpful. A lot of work and effort went into this project, so I'd really appreciate it. Thanks and I hope you enjoy.

It's a little bit weird guys, you come across like little two year old toddlers. Right, now you have been properly chastised, I'll show you what friendship really is. The Bible, as NO world view has been proven, is potentially the word of God. Given that fact, wouldn't it be worth investigating, just in case. I know, if you gave it an academic eye, if nothing else you would find it fascinating. In terms of fulfilled prophesy, moralistic tenet and historical accuracy, it's a great read. And as a sidenote, it will save your life. I'm telling you this because as a Christian I love and care for you and time is running out. God bless you man.
@svetievboris7 жыл бұрын
FUTURE PHILOSOPHY I am sorry but the answers to most of your questions is NO. Let's take it in order: Potential word of God - no b/c an omnipotent, omniscient being cannot exist b/c of the omnipotence paradox and the impossibility of there existing a solution to Turing's Halting problem (look them up) so at best if the bible is really dictated by God then he is lying b/c he cannot really be omnipotent or omniscient. Fulfilled prophecy - please what evidence have you of that? There is more evidence of the Loch Ness monster than of any prophecy fulfilled in the bible. Moralistic tenet - do you mean the cherry picked sections that we use as part of the vastly greater and superior secular moral code where we don't send people to hell for working on the sabbath or wearing clothes of two types of linen, or burn witches at the stake or hold inquisitions, or going to a holy crusade war.... the list goes on.... it is however an interesting historical study or the evolution of moral code to present day. Historical accuracy - don't make me laugh. For a historical use see the note above this one about the evolution of moral code. The only value the bible has is as an excellent prosaic/poetic work of fiction and preservation of folklore myths and legends just as Greek, German, Hindu etc. mythology. That makes for a fascinating read. Scientifically there is nothing accurate in it so there is no practical value in it. Most of this goes for the quran as well. As a side note, my life does not need saving so I kindly say no to that heartfelt offer. I would however invite you to our beer date so we can continue our discussions in person. Cheers

These are the same people who piss and moan about children being taught "evolutionism" in public schools and have the very balls to use the word indoctrination as a criticism of their opponents. Felons like Kent Hovind duck paying taxes for school lunches and football uniforms because of the science curriculum, and then he complains about "tax supported religion". Atheists in Kentucky paid tax dollars to fund the Ark Encounter, which is somehow a non profit and also a business. Meanwhile children (as young as 4-5) are taught in tax exempt churches to memorize unsubstantiated religious dogma, they drill homophobic and anti-women, anti-science beliefs into them, and they stunt their critical thinking. They then tell us to "teach both sides", while not even being able to define the word kind, without any consensus on the age of the Earth, while saying animals like lions, great white sharks and pirahnas were vegetarians. How do you teach that? There's a movement to have Evo taught as early as 4th Grade, and I support it because these children need to be taught the truth before the church rots their brains. Fuck Ken Ham, and fuck his whiny persecution complex. His museum, his theme park, his payroll of scientists, his flock of braindead sheep and all of his money didn't help him win this debate. He lost in an ugly way, coming off as a confused, uneducated, bitter, homophobic "bloke" who looks miserable when with home field advantage.

Moriari Besser except if you knew Jack shit, the definition of religion is the belief in the spiritual or a god or gods. The vast majority of science today is secular and does not believe in this at all, therefore, not a religion whether you like it or not Plus your assumption is that science has no basis just because it doesn't believe in god. Wrong, it has a basis in observations and experiments tracing back our past through observation of how fossils changed, looking at the universe through a telescope, stratigraphy and chemical analysis of rocks in geology to determine what happened in each geological event. It might be proven wrong in future, but science is not immune to change Religion in the other hand, doesn't change with its science of god, and Ken ham ONLY seems to use the Bible here, which doesn't even proove if it was written by this god you believe in it not

@CJCroen13939 жыл бұрын
Cherubim Church Thanks for calling an Autistic person "retarded". That will make your argument more weighty. That first fruit bat image is clearly one that's been agitated and bats don't typically look like that all the time. Also, I don't think that bat looks in any way "scary" or "savage". It looks more like it's trying to scare away a predator. As for the second image...what point are trying to make? That it looks scary or not-cute? Because I disagree on both points. The second picture may not look cuddly, but it's certainly not scary. As for the comment about salmon/fat, this doesn't change the fact that bears gladly eat meat. I will concede that they eat plant matter perhaps moreso, but other than pandas (pure herbivore) and polar bears (pure carnivore), bears still require meat for not just fat, but also protein. My main question is are you siding with Ken Ham here, or just trying to argue with me?
@SonoftheLivingGod79 жыл бұрын
CJCroen1393 I am siding with truth, so that would be Ken Ham. Bears eat what is necessary to survive, that doesn't mean they wouldn't only eat a plant based diet if they could get all the calories, but good luck in this fallen world. Hard to grow plants, and the salmon alone prove what Ken said.

All he did was argue that it was in fact smaller than the calculations, and as such it should be possible to reach India with the supplies a ship could take.... He was wrong, and would have died along the way had the new world not been there...

Ken Ham keeps going on about the laws of logic "requiring god." It's trivially easy to demonstrate that the laws of logic are necessarily true because they cannot not be true. The law of identity - A is A - must be true. Because for it to not be true and A to not be A, you have to first be able to describe what A is in order to say that it's not itself, and at that point you've demonstrated A to be A. In order for the law of identity to be false, it has to be true. Since in order for it to be true, it has to be true, and in order for it to be false, it has to be true - it is true. It requires nothing beyond that. The law of non-contradiction becomes true because of the law of identity. Nothing can both be and not-be. Since we've already established what something is by the Law of Identity, we've been able to determine what it's not - because it's not everything that isn't what it is, and thus the law of non-contradiction is true because the law of identity is true. These two laws give rise to the third law of logic - the law of the excluded middle. For any proposition, that proposition is either true or its negation is true. Something cannot be both true and not-true at the same time, thanks to the law of non-contradiction - it cannot hold two incompatible characteristics. None of these require god in any way. They're simply descriptive definitions of the nature of reality.
@TheBastius10 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I couldn't have explained it better.
@stephblackcat10 жыл бұрын
While all true and well put Ham is arguing that from where he stands if there is no god there is no one you can trust to make things stay the same. Doesn't make much sense but remember ignorance and good-feels are the grasses of his particular flock.
@stephblackcat10 жыл бұрын
Chad Kalinowski The very most annoying thing about it is that he claims that if there is no god there is no guarantee that the natural laws of logic could be in flux. But then reasons that you can't know the past through observation which could only be true if the laws HAD changed.
@tacobell22212210 жыл бұрын
The only problem is that due to quantum mechanics logic doesn't really always apply. A can be not A while still being A. Particles can exist in multiple places at once and instantaneously move from one location to another via quantum tunneling. These don't really make sense from the standpoint of logic. In a sense the only things that are wholly true are invented concepts that are intrinsic in nature such as mathematics. Also another issue with what you say the is "third law of logic" as you call it. This creates a false dichotomy in some instances. The main issue is that if the premises are false the followup is not necessarily true or false. The best example for this would be the Kalam Cosmological argument which for many reasons its attempt at logic falls flat: particularly it's initial premises.
@pyrespirit10 жыл бұрын
tacobell222122 You're incorrect regarding the laws of logic and quantum mechanics. An electron is always an electron, even if you cannot know both its momentum and position to the same degree of accuracy at the same time. Kalam doesn't follow the law of the excluded middle. The law of the excluded middle does not create false dichotomies, it *is* a true dichotomy. Something cannot be anywhere between what it is and what it's not at any given time. Things can transform between different things, but they have instantaneous properties of one thing at a time. To use QM as an example, quarks have a property called Color Charge - they're either red, blue, green, antired, antiblue or antigreen. They're never, for example, red and antired at the same time. They're red up until the point they're no longer red and become antired, then they're not red anymore but are antired.

Recent former YEC here. You talk about Bill Nye's childlike excitement for science versus Ken Ham's cold and cynical approach. When I gave up all that nonsense, I felt a lightness and an excitement to learn that I haven't felt since childhood. Just the thought that birds are dinosaurs awakened a joy I don't remember feeling before. I used to be so cynical. I chose my college and degree based on their support of AiG. When I transferred to a state school, I had to take a geology class and ended up doing twice the work-first doing what the professor expected, and following it up with my conscientious objection explaining the biblical truth, god damnit! My poor professor was so generous to ignore the creationist mumbo-jumbo from some punk millennial POS who thought he knew better than the scientists. If I remembered his name, I'd email him an apology.

How about the thousands of other scientists who agree with him? Here's a better idea: look at the studies instead of listening to talking heads. There are many more then 20 studies supporting Nye's claims either on Evolution or global warming. I wouldn't say it's a false dichotomy question, because I have not loaded it with two opposing views in order to present a logical fallacy. The answer is that true empirical Science has no option but to embrace the unseen as reality. No-one can hold out in their hand...gravity, wind or a human thought , yet Science does not refute their existence. Yet when I express my belief in God...Science seems to challenge me.."show me evidence" ... so what now? I cannot use a logic that says " if you can't show me a thought by holding it out in your hand for me to see and touch, I must logically conclude that you have no mind."

"Creation Science" is based on the bible. The bible says bats are birds. And yet you will never hear a creationist calling a bat a bird. I wonder why?
@louistournas1209 жыл бұрын
+Aaron Farris Here is another one Deuteronomy 14: "7 However, of those that chew the cud or that have a divided hoof you may not eat the camel, the rabbit or the hyrax. Although they chew the cud, they do not have a divided hoof; they are ceremonially unclean for you." Rabbits don't chew cud. People probably noticed that they move their mouth a lot and assumed they are chewing cud.
@KrisMayeaux9 жыл бұрын
+Aaron Farris What is the scripture verse that says bats are considered birds in the Bible? But if so, what possible difference would that make? And a whale was also considered a fish in the Bible and so what? *There was a different classification system in effect*. That's all. There are many different ways to classify animals and the characteristic of flight is one and creatures that swim in the sea is another. And rabbits actually rechew their food by eating their excrement, so of course this is why they are in the same category as animals who chew the cud.
@aaronfarris65399 жыл бұрын
Kristen Michelle Leviticus 11:13-19 if you must know. And the point was that the bible isn't anything like science. For an all knowing god to let it be said in a book that he is supposed to have inspired that a mammal is a bird is pathetic for that all knowing being. There is no such thing as "creation science", there is only science. If you do not follow the evidence then what you are doing is not science. And "creation science" always states as its first premise that the bible is the literal, perfect, inerrant word of god. "Creation science" selects the evidence that may support its chosen presupposed answer and tries to invalidate or outright dismiss/ignore any evidence that suggests it may not be true. That is not science in any sense of the word.
@KrisMayeaux9 жыл бұрын
+Aaron Farris You said: For an all knowing god to let it be said in a book that he is supposed to have inspired that a mammal is a bird is pathetic for that all knowing being. Aaron, I don't think you realize that God was not interested in the biological classification that we use in the 21st century. God used a different system, not classifying them as mammals, reptiles, bacteria etc, but the Bible classed the animal world differently - creeping things, flying animals, animals that swam under the sea. God never said that a whale was not a mammal. He didn't need to. Nobody used that system back then! LOL Do you see what I mean? God use a simplistic system of classification for the ancient times. It wasn't wrong at all -- it was just different. Actually there are different views but I think science should go where the evidence leads and not make any presuppositions at all. If all evidence points in one direction -- Go there. Don't circumvent to find another answer because it is not the one you wanted it to be. Agreed?
@aaronfarris65399 жыл бұрын
Kristen Michelle "not classifying them as mammals, reptiles, bacteria etc, but the Bible classed the animal world differently - creeping things, flying animals, animals that swam under the sea." That is my point, the level of care and knowledge shown by the bible does not reflect a perfect, all knowing, being. Instead it reflects the knowledge of the actual authors: ignorant superstitious iron age goat herders. So when "creation scientists" say that their presuppositions include that the bible is "inspired by" an all knowing being and filled with truth they are shooting themselves in the foot. "Don't circumvent to find another answer because it is not the one you wanted it to be. Agreed?" Agreed on this part.

+Charles Dahill Even if Ken Ham is wrong on the age of the Earth, so what? He may or may not be because you have not heard his side of the story. However, did you know the Bible does not state specifically that the earth is young, but that Creation is young. Maybe 6,000, maybe 10,000, maybe 15,000 as there could be some discrepancies when people try to figure out genealogies and generations. Or maybe, as the Bible states, one day with the Lord is as 1000 years. So the days of Creation could be up to 6,000 years from start to finish. These are just some of the various views within Christianity. Other Christians believe that the universe and the earth are the age that scientists suggest, but that God used the methods of evolution to diversify the Earth. It doesn't really matter. What matters is accepting that there is a God, and he has given us his Son as the atonement for our moral law violations. We all know right from wrong; and we all are guilty of violating the moral law. We all need a Savior. That's my view and I believe in a young creation; not necessarily a young earth.
@XoXBremenDruid9 жыл бұрын
Kristen Michelle The argument that you provide is different from what is presented in the video. The point is that Ken Ham's view about the Earth being only 6000 or so years old is incorrect, and it has been pointed out with multitudes of scientific evidence to back it up. So regardless of your personal views of a god, Ken Ham is still an idiot. I won't go too much into the whole deity argument, but I will say one thing. You say "we all need a savior". That would imply that I do as well. And I don't. I'm perfectly fine now without one (in fact I think I'm better off without the one the bible suggests, considering god's track record on how he treats his children).

Isn't it odd that Ham criticizes the approach of observing the way natural laws work in the present and then extrapolating back in order to figure out what happened in the past, but also claims that the biblical worldview is the only one that can give an account for the existence and consistency of natural laws?
@dannytibi10 жыл бұрын
Evolution is a part of science, that much is so undeniable that creationists even came up with the idea of micro-evolution so that they could acknowledge the evolutionary processes we observe today with having to extrapolate backwards. Anyway, the point I was making was that Ham cannot have it both ways, either the natural laws we observe are constant and reliable, and thus we can extrapolate backwards into the past to figure out what happened, or they are not. He can't simply reject the constancy of natural laws when it suits him, and then later claim that the biblical worldview is what gives us assurance of the constancy of natural laws. It's one or the other...

Noah had to load SEVEN, not two, of every edible animal. Ken Ham didn't cut down so much as one tree. He used pre-cut timber and pre-formed timber. He used powerful industrial electric saws and other modern equipment. He employed hundreds of skilled volunteer workers. His ark thing is built on dry land, as far away from water as possible. He knows it would tip over and sink if ever it was launched. Ken Ham PROVED that it couldn't possibly be done with unskilled workers using primitive tools. Well done Ken - you should get a medal for obliterating the Biblical account of the great flood.

Additionally, it is NOT a freestanding "ark". It is about half a chunk of boatish-shaped building that is half building-shaped building. I recently saw a video that toured the outside of the building: it made the above obvious. Also, building codes required that they use steel and concrete in their "ark" where appropriate.

Creationists: "Scientists don't know what happened in the past, they can only guess and cast speculation" Also creationists: "It's a fact that god made the world and I don't need any proof or justification"
@anneleppold87767 жыл бұрын
This video was published a while ago, but I wanted to add something here: 22:50 - Not only does Ken Ham not understand the science isn't broken into historical vs. observational science (The only time I've ever heard historical science used in my studies was in reference to the scientists and scientific studies of the past. It is most definitely not the science of studying something that happened in the past; that's just not a thing.), but also he doesn't even know what a scientific law is and how we defined them. You don't "assume" the laws of the natural world. They aren't laws that we made up like, "Don't murder. You will go to jail if you murder people." The Laws of Nature or logic or natural uniformity aren't just made up out of thin air. Scientific laws aren't scientific theories either. A scientific law is the description of an observed phenomenon. It doesn't explain why the phenomenon exists or what causes it. The explanation of a phenomenon is called a scientific theory. A hypothesis, then, is a limited explanation of a phenomenon. Also many people think that if scientists find evidence that supports a hypothesis, the hypothesis is upgraded to a theory and if the theory if found to be correct, it is upgraded to a law. That is not how it works at all. In fact, facts, theories and laws - as well as hypotheses - are separate parts of the scientific method. Though they may evolve, they aren't upgraded to something else. Ken Ham has no understanding of science and the scientific process of learning and acquiring knowledge. He has no idea what he's talking about. King Crocoduck explains this part well, but, as a geologist, I feel personally insulted that he used my field of study to try to boost his idiotic claims that "historical" and observational science are two different things. So I wanted to say more in defense of geology. That textbook wasn't saying that "historical vs observational" bullshit that Ham is spewing, not at all; the authors were just trying to make a point that you have to understand how earthly processes work now in order to study how those processes acted upon the earth many, many years ago. For example, you can't dig up a sedimentary rock, look at the structures within it, and say how it was formed without knowing what causes those sed. structures to form in the first place. That's all it is. "Historical" and "observational" science are still the same science, same processes, same theories, etc. Geologic history isn't Ken Ham's moronic "historical science"; it's just the study of how the earth and parts of it formed since the earth came into existence, and how long it took to for those parts to forms. Just because he know the names of some rock layers in the Grand Canyon, it doesn't mean he knows anything about geology. Of course Ham doesn't see a 10 million year gap, because any good geologist knows that you can't always see unconformities. You have to age date the rock through various means, which I won't go into for the sake of comment length... Ham is either an idiot or lying.

A few examples of transitional fossils: Archaeothyris: A transition between early reptiles and mammals. It looks like a lizard but has a single temporal fenestra. Ambulocetus: A transition between land mammals and whales. It has teeth similar to those of early whales like Basilosaurus, but still has legs which were poorly suited for a fully terrestrial lifestyle, but suitable for a semi-aquatic lifestyle. It also had underwater adaptions such as whale-like periotic bones. Sphecomyrma: An early ant with wasp-like features. Odontochelys: An early turtle with only half a shell, and teeth in the mouth instead of a beak. Australopithecus: Contrary to creationist beliefs, this was not a knuckle-walking ape. An isolated foot bone found in 2011 indicated that it walked upright.

I'd love to see another round of this debate , where they both have a look at each others power point presentations to rip them open to expose bullshit. I'm not terribly happy with this genre of debate that allows gish gallop. Also, Nye is god of patience. With the amount of joyful ignorance and the celebration of stupidity I would had to hold myself down from crying for the future of humanity or from slapping the stupidity out of Ham with a book. Where you there Ham? I was at the science class. I wasn't the best pupil or the most successful at tests, but at least I was there Ham.

Out of all the science-focused channels on KZbin, yours is perhaps my favorite. It's easy to debunk most of Ken Ham's claims even with a cursory understanding of modern scientific theories - hell, even an afternoon or two on Wikipedia would be enough to learn why creationism is bullshit - but few channels rip through them with such depth and clarity, such as you did with Andrew Fabich's lies at 52:27. It is amazing that someone who supposedly has a PhD in microbiology would display such stunning ignorance (if not plain academic dishonesty) towards his own field of study. When I watch your videos, I feel inspired to start my own channel debunking anti-scientific creationist claims. I'm tired of seeing disinformation being spread about every level of modern science. Keep up the good work, please.

You think God wrote the bible? Or man? Most theologians are convinced it was man. Your response would not hold up in any court of law.
@agrid10 жыл бұрын
I am convinced it was a human invention. Even if it were true that God Inspire that BS, it is still man made, I mean, I had a girl friend, and she had inspired some poems (corny and stupid poems) but still, they are my poems, made by me, not by her, it is not her words per say. They are my words, my poems, I wrote them, inspired by her. But still mine. All I am saying is that I think Ham Refers to God as the witness who knows everything and because of that, the Bible is trustfull. But still the failure, in Ham's argument is that He was not there in the past, when, the Bible was inspired, so according to him, we cannot now if the bible is the word of God. As we were not there. But still the man who wrote any part of the bible is the witness of that his is writing about God, I mean he is the witness of God. But still as he was not there, he cannot know (according to his argument) if the bible was writen as a joke, as a delusion, as just someone creating a story. Or if it was made by a drunk guy or girl, or one guy, many guys, amy girls etc, etc etc. Of course Ham will not go there as for he is a Dishonest MF. He cherry picks in order to create confusion, disinform, and with that cheats people into believing something senseless.. As many of the lies, King Crocoduck pointed out in this video.

Eccleisates 3 19For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same. As one dies so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no advantage for man over beast, for all is vanity. 20All go to the same place. All came from the dust and all return to the dust.… The most truthful thing in the bible and it refutes the whole concept behind religion. i just want to note, that if i remember correctly, the silmarillion by J.R.R.Tolkien actually mentions nearly all the things Ken Ham says you can only find in the bible (2:24:15). J.R.R Tolkien also wrote the lord of the rings, and the silmarillion is an account of everything that happened before and during the lord of the rings and hobbit storylines). It starts off by telling you there is a god (Eru the one I believe) the origin of day and night even has a very good story behind it. It accounts for the creation of live and earth, it accounts for He wrote grammatical rules for the different languages, and the book has a very defined lineage of the main characters. It accounts for why we dont find the equivalent of demigods on earth, and where we go when we die. It explains where the elves went, it explains where evil went and came from. That and lots more. Heck, the story is also a lot better than from the bible ^.^ The point i want to make is, why believe the bible so literally, and not the silmarillion? Not hating on Christianity, some of my best friends are christian, but please dont take the book literally and apply circular reasoning as to why whats in the book is valid. There is nothing wrong with believing in something, as long as you do not impose it upon others (Critical thinking is not a belief, and i wish everyone was good at it) .According to that logic the only reason i shouldnt believe in a history according to the silmarillion is because it doesnt say we should. Sincerely, an atheist who respects religion, but sometimes gets annoyed

Justus McNeal That's an interesting backwards interpretation of the debaters' performances, but hey, to each their own, I suppose. There is plenty of literature available on polystrate trees and fossils, so I don't know why you'd think that "there's no reason" that they should be found this way. Geologists have been addressing these sorts of finds for nearly two centuries. I take it that, in order for you to be so ignorant of the information is available to everyone, you must be limiting your "research" to that which is provided by young Earth creationist websites.

I can't argue with that. I also realize that ridiculing the bible would have enabled Ham to play the victim, and of course the live audience was already sympathetic to him. But Ham's repeatedly saying "Uh, there is a book, you know . . . " was extremely irritating.

If Ham had actually read that dog population diagram, then he would've realized the thing dealt with thousands of dogs, the pinching point is at 10,000 to 25,000 dogs. Also, if that pinching point proves Noah's flood, then what about the Golden Jackels to the side that saw no major change to their population?
@EdwardHowton8 жыл бұрын
Well, see, your mistake is not listening to what Ham said. He was using the same evidence, just interpreting differently. Specifically, he was interpreting 10,000-25,000 as being "two pairs". Or "seven pairs". Because the bible is fucking inconsistent even so little as a single goddamn sentence after another. See? If you simply put on your biblical glasses, ten thousand means four! Or fourteen. Look, he's a creationist, you know they're shit at math.

Despite the overwhelming majority of observers finding Bill Nye the winner of this debate, Ken Ham still considered it a victory because it increased donations to his business. And donations to his business increased because all of his arguments in the debate were in English. That is, your argument can be technically correct, but the audience will reject it if it's in technobabble instead of English.

KenHamForever If God put an object 100,000 light years away and the universe is about 6000 years old we shouldn't be able to see it. The light from the object would take 100,000 years to reach us. This is why Bill Nye believes the way he does. Two of today's most popular scientists, Bill Nye and Neil deGrasse Tyson, each claim Sagan as their inspiration. How would you like to have Carl Sagan as your astronomy professor? For Nye, this was reality. While Nye was studying at Cornell University in the late 70s, Sagan was his astronomy professor. Nye learned much about the universe from Sagan, saying that his lectures were like Cosmos episodes. At his 10-year class reunion in 1987, Nye told Sagan about his idea for a TV show that he wanted to gear towards children. Sagan advised him to “focus on pure science, kids resonate with pure science.” Bill Nye the Science Guy premiered in 1993, winning numerous accolades (including 19 Emmy awards) and inspiring a generation of future scientists. Nye later went on to be the CEO of The Planetary Society, an organization founded by Sagan. Now, Nye gets to continue part of Sagan’s legacy. If you grew up loving Bill Nye’s show, you owe much of that love to Carl Sagan.
