That moment when you realize ddd is just Nomura’s retelling of Sleeping Beauty 😳 Also fun fact: Nomura stated that the “correct” or canon answers of those three questions at the end (the answers that unlock the secret message) in jp all have the word “taisetsu” (precious/treasured/beloved) in them. So in jp they say: What are you so afraid of? - Losing what’s precious to me. What is most precious to you? -My precious best friend. What do you wish? - I wish to recover what is precious to me.” In other words, every canon answer Riku gave was reaffirming how precious Sora is to him. Ansem the Wise says those three questions were the final key to awakening Sora. Riku literally awoke Sora with the power of true love.

@@Runic_Firebird **Spoilers, in case someone here hasn't played KH3 yet** That's definitely true, their relationship is a lot more forward in 3 than in the rest of the series, especially in Re:Mind (oh my, handholding). Also Riku barely got any screentime and I'm still salty about it. He hardly got to play off of Sora or Kairi or anyone, and it kinda seems like he was turned down a bit, and seemed a bit...bland? idk I'm probably just being overly critical, but it was just disappointing for me to see that a lot of time didn't go towards Riku, or Kairi. I'm actually replaying KH2 at level 1 right now, and seriously the buildup to Riku coming back is so sweet, and it makes the little time we get with him super worth it. Everything about it is fantastic, and seeing Sora break down, finally finding Riku after like 2 years of searching for him, is super touching. also there was BIG bromance energy happening and it was great.

Okay, I know it's been over 2 years but I thought you might like to know two things. First of all, the keychain of the Gayblade (when combined as one) is a paopu fruit :D Second, and longer to explain, it's about those three questions Riku gets at the end of the game. Not only are there correct answers to those questions (you can answer whatever but you won't unlock the secret ending if you don't answer correctly), BUT ALSO the Japanese version of the correct answers makes it WAY MORE OBVIOUS that Riku likes Sora in that way. Here's the comparison (English in cursive and Japanese in bold): 1. Roxas: _What is it that you're so afraid of?_ / *What are you afraid of?* Riku: _Losing something that's important_ / *Losing what's PRECIOUS to me* 2. Ventus: _What is the one thing you care about more than anything else?_ / *What is most PRECIOUS to you?* Riku: _My close friends_ / *My PRECIOUS close friend* 3. Xion: _Riku. What do you wish?_ / *What do you wish to do?* Riku: _I wish... to recover something important that I lost_ / *I wish... to recover what is PRECIOUS to me* It's only after Riku gives THOSE THREE ANSWERS that you unlock the secret ending. It's almost like Nomura is "saying those are the right answers. That's how Riku really feels. This is what I expect you to have caught onto already. And that's what wakes Sora up!"

Yes, Sora's FRIENDSHIP is precious to Riku. It's literally nothing else. Let male characters be friends. They don't always have to be gay if they show how much they care about each other.

@@MRocky323 In my usual obsession with the ship, I got carried away and forgot to specify that's MY READING of it, and not undeniable canon. It's a reading I'm very confident in. Of course male characters can be just friends. Of course they don't have to be gay. But the thing is, they also could be. Because me reading their relationship as a FUTURE romance (they're definitely just friends so far) ISN'T based SOLELY on this moment. I base it on several moments and tidbits throughout the series. In the HYPOTHETICAL case that they ended being a canon ship I don't see how that would be bad. They have been JUST MALE FRIENDS since game 1, regardless of how I might think they feel about each other. Also if they ended up being just friends and nothing more I would not be mad about it, I already love the characters and their relationships as they are. PS: The parts in ALL CAPS isn't me yelling, but rather me emphasizing. Just to be clear XD

I think the ending of this game really showed that Sora has no ambition for his own. He always gives his best for his friends yet he is the one who never goes through his own wants and needs. he wanted to be sad failing the exam but then he looked at Riku and was like "What am I doing? Riku needs me to congratulate him." I really hope for the future of Kingdom Hearts Sora is forced to self reflect since everything he has ever done was because of his friends and to keep them save but never through his own ambition.

Idk if someone's shared this already but I feel compelled to drop the whole quote of Rikus from the ddd novel during the armored ventus nightmare fight, so brace ur gay hearts "I won't hold back, and I won't underestimate you, I'll give everything I have to set you free. I was always jealous of you, Sora. I used to feel it all the time, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't still. I used to believe that feeling was darkness, but now I know it's not. The truth is, it gave me strength, and so did having someone to challenge me. Light and darkness are perfect compliments to each other - the shadows are always greatest next to the light, and light always shines out brightest in the dark. I know what that means now, truly. When those dark feelings come over you, only your heart can decide whether to let them sink deeper into the darkness or to bring them out into the light of the sun. Accepting both is what it means to have a heart, it's what gives us strength. Even wanting to protect those you care about is a form of pride, in a way. I don't think anyone can honestly say it's not, same with wanting to be stronger. Joy and sorrow, anger and hatred - whether those feelings become your light or your darkness is for you to decide. The strength of your heart is what allows you to choose. That's why I choose to let the light shine onto my own darkness. And that light is you, Sora" 😭😭😭💙💛

Its not that your alone, half the time people like us choose to be alone. And no one has to be alone if deep down you desire to be around other people take baby steps to make that move. So believe that some interactions with people are worth having and good and bad is always 50/50 wether your alone or with someone and everyone knows life is no good alone so share some moments with people you can trust and don't be afraid to let someone new in you don't have to stay in a cage you can create the life you want with an action each day.

I think you're the only person I've seen who likes the dream eaters and good for you for being able to. For my playthrough I literally called a few "fotter" because I was using them to get Noble and Intrepid Fantasies, which is caused by having them die off.

There is literally not a single thing in the entire series that says that Riku has anything other than platonic feelings for Sora, or anyone else for that matter. I've always seen Sora and Riku as brothers, much like me and my irl friends. They're people that would go to the ends of the earth for me, and I for them. Just like Sora and Riku. I can admit though I can see why people ship them. The Gayblade was always the Twilightblade to me to represent the meeting of darkness and light. I think this is in part of how some countries/cultures see friendships between men. I am Hispanic and close contact between friends is NORMAL and it does not mean sexual attraction. It only means brotherly love. I have never witness that closeness in the US at least.
