Just how good is the new Toyota Grand Highlander versus the #sienna #highlander and #sequoia ?
Available in three powertrains across three grades: the well-balanced 2.4L turbo gas engine, the efficient 2.5L hybrid and the ultimate performance-seeking, 362 horsepower Hybrid MAX, the Grand Highlander is perfectly packaged for the road trip ahead.

Toyota is just killing it. With all their models. I still have my Camry with 486.000km and counting. (I believe it´s around 300.000 miles for you guys in the US) No major services, just regular maintenance. To top it all of is that it´s cheap to maintain and parts are readily avaliable everywhere.

Different demographic than your audience;66 yo retired couple that likes to road trip and take friends, family,dogs,bikes. Just home after driving 2000 miles for a 4 minute eclipse😊. The GH max platinum is a pleasure to travel with, 150 mile traffic jam leaving IMS was eased with adaptive cruise and traffic jam management. Plenty power to pull the surf boat short distances. My pull vehicle is a Silverado 6.2 V8. No way I’m driving a van but the GH nails our needs.We have10,000 miles on ours and it has been a very good choice. The GH replaces a Acura MDX that we put 280,000 miles on with no major mechanicals.

Kirk Glizzock, I am very happy you added how good the HVAC works for the rear occupants. I’ve seen complaints of multiple cars where the hvac SUCKS for 2nd and 3rd row peoplez. This is important for people to know so please keep that up even if its not a 3rd row vehicle. Thank you. Also request you add if the engine in whatever vehicle is port, direct or both injected. Many want to know this too. I love the GH. 99.9% of owners are extremely happy with their purchase. You know me… I worry about the long term of the turbo engine. But they did everything right with this vehicle otherwise. If it wasn’t my RAV4, this is in my top 3 of vehicle choices.

T24A-FTS 2.4L 4 Cylinder (Turbo & HybridMax) is direct & port injected. A25A-FXS 2.5L 4 Cylinder (Non-Turbo Hybrid) has Toyota D4S which is also direct & port injected. Believe it or not but it has 8 injectors. 4 injectors are port & 4 injectors are direct.

I got a gas only limited 3 weeks ago and I have ZERO regrets!! Best SUV and super comfortable! Edit: You can turn off the audio notification for the blind spot and you can customize the heck outta the gauge cluster as well! All the safety sense settings can be customized like crazy too!

@syedjafri2693 Well, the salesman is a family friend so i got a good price! Sticker price was 52k, he gave it to me for 47k, total price after adding gap, the 100k extended warranty, and some other warranty he recommended, total was 51k. 😅😅

Very nice review. It's really for persons with big families. I really appreciate the HVAC and radio buttons which can accessed without having to dive through touchscreen menus while driving. I also think it looks a lot better than the Lexus equivalent.

Mazda has less internal space, especially noticeable in 3rd row head/leg room & with 3rd row in use, less space for your luggage and toys behind 3rd row. Mazda did a very nice job in terms of upscale interior though! If you don't need full use of the 3rd row for larger teenagers/adults- it's a beautiful vehicle!

First time I saw the Grand Highlander, I thought "That's a really big RAV4". I think it's a great looking ride. I wish we could get some of the higher levels of materials in the RAV4 (I'm thinking specifically about the seats), like the Grand Highlander has... and maybe a GR sport version. 😁

I know everyone says this fits under the Sequoia in size, but it certainly does not in terms of functional seating room (this actually has a 3rd row that can be used by adults) and cargo capacity. That’s the same engine as the new RX. The Turbo is pretty quick. The reliable V6 that Toyota and Lexus had was super smooth, but it takes a moment to fall back to first gear to accelerate. This new engine setup is very nimble.

Hey Kirk, you should do a standard luggage test in all these SUV vids, especially with the third row. I find the cubic ft numbers not intuitive. Also, all the idiosyncrasies of a vehicle make the numbers not helpful anyway in terms of what you can actually fit!

I have the grand Highlander platinum awd on reserve. Should be here in two weeks. We decided against the hybrid as they are in such short supply that they are going above msrp. 73k out the door for a hybrid after taxes vs non hybrid platinum 60k.

I wouldn't say the Sequoia is too big, since the Grand Highlander inside is more spacious than the Sequoia. I agree it's the "goldilocks" between the 3. Not sure though with the Hybrid Max's. I personally would go with the Hybrid Limited with better MPG than the Max's if you're into saving more money.

One question I have… “why am I seeing so many low mileage used GH 2024 at dealer lots?” I guess not “so many” but I am seeing 2..3..5..8k mileage GH and I would like to know why those people decided to trade in there not even 1 y/o GH? My wife and I are looking to upgrade our small Jeep and Cadillac ATS Premium to a GH be cause we have two boys now and three dogs and we can’t take all of us any where.
