​​@@Therealones745 He had a Super form, was the only hedgehog introduced since Shadow, had a full campaign ALONGSIDE Sonic and Shadow, had a gameplay mechanic that was suposed to be the big selling point of 06, one of the most fire themes in sonic history, one of the strongest characters in sonic canon and one of the few that can go toe to toe with sonic, literally the only thing in which he is lacking is a good character arc, he was clealy made to be the "new Shadow", the new big impact character, but since the game was unfinished and failed, none of that was possible.

I think the problem with Silver is the same problem with characters like Blaze and, to an extent, Shadow: they were made to tell a specific story and they don't really function outside of it. Since Silver's identity is largely intrinsic to the events of 06, they had to keep recreating them whenever they wanted to use him again, hence Ifrit, which is basically Iblis with wings.

Not really. Blaxe and shadow can still be used and don't need elements from their introduction to be plot revelvant, Silver. However being from the future presents a problem when trying to make him a player in certian stories

Silver is one of my favorite characters. I enjoyed his story in 06, and I loved his stories in the Archie comics. Even in the reboot. Silver is a great character, but he gets barely anything. He was in the Rivals games, but those are very obscure. And he had a good boss fight in Generations. I also like his scenes in Colors DS. That game had some nice character moments.

I feel like the best thing to do with Silver as a character is to take him out of the future. Like, he's still from the future but some plot unfolds and he eventually decides to stay in Sonic's time. Picture this: Sometime in the future, sega does a "Year of Silver" akin to the current year of shadow, working on either the rumoured 06 or a Rivals remake (titled something like "Sonic 06 + Silver the Hedgehog" or "Sonic + Silver Rivals"). This remake would feature a bonus Silver campaign, the plot of which being Silver after Rivals/Metal Virus/whatever seeing his future get destroyed by some cataclysmic threat which conveniently was awoken because of something that happened back in Sonic's time. He collects travels back in time, stops that, but then his future is still destroyed because of another thing that happened in Sonic's time (perhaps the events of a Sonic game where silver was absent or present without specific explanation). Rinse and repeat enough to match Shadow Gens' playtime and eventually Silver comes to the realisation that there's something about Sonic's time that consistently threatens the future, ultimately resolving to stay primarily in said time period as a protector of the present to safeguard the future.

It pains me that my favorite character has gotten shafted. I do think he's set to get something though. He's still getting some merch alongside Blaze (I was just in Japan and while he didn't have his own stuff, he was one of the major characters put in ensemble merch alongside Blaze. Even the Chaotix didn't appear on it) I think its just a matter of waiting his turn. Sega has been restablishing characters little by little. We've got some new stuff for Cream and Shadow, its only a matter of time

In my opinion, both Blaze and Silver were to be the next few things. 06s plot was even supposed to have more direct connections to Rush. Then they never appeared, the game was rushed out, and Sega became hesitant to keep using characters other than Sonic. Not helping was Rush Adventure not doing well for sales, so Dimps would only make alternate versions of mainline games going forward

It's never actually said that Blaze in 06 is from the future, and even if that was the intention it doesnt carry over into any of her other appearances. Rush Adventure coming out the year after 06 should clear any confusion. Blaze just has the same problem as Silver in that her story was told in Rush and didnt have many places to go after that. She *could* be expanded, but its not like she's hurting for a strong showing the way Silver is

​@@iceman92211I disagree, I honestly find it weird how a lot of Blaze fans whine about Silver ruining her character when they only ever occasionally appear together and arent characterized any differently when apart (MOSTH, IDW, etc.) They'll also act like Blaze is Silver's sidekick now even though they're always shown on equal footing and Blaze usually acts senior to him. What really happened is that SEGA lost interest in doing interesting things with their characters after Unleashed so she faded to irrelevance like everyone else. But they still insist that Silver is to blame as if that same thing didnt happen to everyone else's faves.

Honestly I love Silver enough that I'd love to both him and Mephiles in a future film adaptation. It might be overkill if it was also with Amy and assuming Neo-Metal Sonic, possibly even a robotic eggman (speculation, his survival from 2 made sense but he's not a superpowered space hedgehog to survive in 3). I think it would also do wonders for his popularity as he just came in a interesting but messy game. I think they could really do him justice and thus be putting him the games to do more. Maybe even get his own game where maybe he travels to where Blaze is. I mean being real he'll never have Shadow's popularity but seriously nobody can beat the Sonic main 3 team and Shadow in popularity anyway. But there's always room for more to get the spotlight and the time is definitely now.

It looks like Silver will be in the movies sometime soon (more likely movie 5) because Paramount hinted at him and a Sonic 06 inspired movie twice in the Knuckles show. 1. During a scene in episode 1 Maddie was wearing a white sports hat and an auqua green long-sleeved shirt. Colors that match Silver enough. 2. That " Flames of Disaster" titled episode. In these recent years Silver joined Sonic and Shadow to be one of my three favorite Sonic characters, so you're not the only person who really wants him to enter the SCU in one of the next movies.

I've always been a Sonic fan but I've just recently been getting back into the franchise & exploring it in more depth than ever. One of the first things I heard about was how much fans hate Sonic 06 for its janky game mechanics, so I automatically thought it was just a bad game. Then on a random whim, I decided to watch a youtube video summarizing its story, and I was legitimately shocked at how complex and interesting it was - especially the time travel aspect with Silver. It still has its.. questionable parts (that weird romance with Elise should've never happened), and the overall execution was undeniably sloppy, but the potential was there. I loved and still love the idea of so many characters being playable, and I think that's the #1 thing that should be brought back in this modern Sonic renaissance era, especially if the games are becoming lore-centric again. A story has so much more depth when it's being depicted from multiple perspectives. Combine that with high quality cut-scenes, a killer soundtrack, and most importantly - polished gameplay mechanics to tie everything together, we'll finally have achieved PEAK. Anyway, if Sega's next project is truly what Sonic 06 failed to be, given the last few releases we've been getting, I'm optimistic.

So there was no Silver post credits scene at the end of the Sonic 3 movie, I'll say that much. But what I think they'll do next is aim for Sonic Heroes, a Shadow the Hedgehog solo movie featuring him against Black Doom (Sean Schemmel on the big screen again maybe? Schemmel admittedly is a clown but goddamn is his Black Doom voice unmatched), and then most definitely something with Silver in it.

You know, this video made me realize, since you brought up Silver's scene with Infinite; I know it hasn't been nearly as long since Forces was released, but I feel like Infinite himself is being left in the dust by Sega. You could go with the whole "but he died at the end of his debut game" thing, which has been done before, but even characters like Gamma or Emerl have had some fanservice references or appearances elsewhere, and beyond that, Sega was really, really fast to bring back another certain character who died at the end of his debut game, so that's hardly an excuse Bit of a shame to waste the potential. It might just be Liam O'Brien doing his Kain Highwind voice for the tenth time, but I don't get tired of hearing his performance, and there are definitely things they could do with the character if they wanted. But I guess they decided he was just too weak to reuse

I think the real issue for sonic team to bring him back is hos gameplay, pretty much every othrr character in the series just go fast and can somewhat do the same things sonic does with some extra new abilities, Silver's issue is that he is not fast running and his entire gameplay revolves around manipulating physics and controlling enemies, that just can't be translated as easily to fit into Sonic's style of gameplay, compared to a character like shadow that's quite literally just Sonic's gameplay style with a few extra bonuses liek time stop and shooting beams, so it's just something that they have to really sit down and rethink entirely how Silver would even play

Ah my second favorite character after Sonic. Let me clear up the status of the future of Sonic's world for you. First we have the inciting event which was Dr. Nega ruining the future with his time travel plots, (as you said 06 erases itself from the timeline) stopping Dr. Nega temporarily creates a good future in time for Sonic Colors DS which indeed is canon, however interference from the Phantom Ruby and it's clones would create the chain of events that led to the creation of the Metal Virus (yes the IDW comics are canon as well) which would once again destroy the future which makes Silver come back during the Forces era, stopping the Metal Virus once again makes a good future and Silver decides to take a break in the past. TLDR: The future is currently good. However its a constant fight to keep it that way thanks to other time traveling shenanigans.

Bro has literally never been playable in a mainline game since, since his moveset is more complex to program compared to Sonic and Shadow, who're mostly similar. Truly a tragedy that he debuted in an utterly fumbled bag of a game. Living in the timeline where SEGA didn't rush Sonic Team to get the game out by 2006's holiday season would be most interesting to see. Sonic '07 could've been legendary - it'll most likely still have the infamous kiss scene, but the gameplay should be better received at least, and Silver will become a staple in more than just spinoff games, with SEGA not being afraid to make Adventure-style games in this timeline.

It may be complex to program but if done right, it could be amazing. Imagine how much you can do with a character with psychokinesis, all the creative ways you could use the environment to attack or defend. If they make it an open world game,they could even allow him to fly. Since it's always only hovering for him,when he's shown to be able to straight up fly.

I kinda hope that one of the movies will have Silver and Blaze show up at once. Taking on everyone on Sonic's side at once solo is a lot to ask of anyone, but the two of them together would be a tall order in the other direction. Would make for some excellent tension. I'd like Amy to be introduced first/alongside, though.

JUSTICE FOR SILVER! If 06 wasn't rushed, i think tit would've been one of the most iconic "must play" classics. The story is fire, the characters are on peak, and the music... oh the music... ICONIC! The only two issues are the controllers and functionality. Everything else is quite alright; even the animation has aged really well all things considered. They need to remale 06, redeem 06!

I have a theory, Silver probably won't appear in a 4th movie since there's a high chance Rouge would but, but it would be amazing if he appears in the 5th. However, I feel like they would make him appear in the 6th- referencing his first appearance in Sonic 06 It's 50-50 but I heard that Paramount is planning something big with Silver, so who knows Silver is one of my favorites
