Great rhythm section by Gene Simmons and Eric Singer. Phenomenal guitar solo by Bruce Kulick. Probably one of their heaviest songs. If you want to check out even heavier Kiss listen to Hate, Seduction Of The Innocent and In My Head from the 1997 album Carnival Of Souls The Final Sessions. Last album with Kulick and before returning to make up. Kulick sings the last song I Walk Alone and went solo

I've seen Kiss several times. For their "farewell" tour, I was 15 rows back on the main floor. The pyro was COOKING my face, I can't begin to think of how hot it must have been on stage.

So glad you revisited this. The live stuff is great to get a feel for their performances, but they have so many great moments captured on the studio versions and this is right there at the top.

This is possibly their best music video. The music video to this song is amazing, glad you reacted to the studio version because while the live version is alright..it's one of the few songs that's better watching the video or listening to the studio version of.

Great damn song. I've been listening to Kiss since I was 5 in 1975. I will have to say this lineup might be my favorite. This album is just solid.

The lyrics are pretty deep on this one. And let's just say this is quite possibly Bruce Kulick's best solo.

Saw KISS in 1984 & 1986 at the old Charlotte Coliseum. Back then it was general admission, so I elbowed and wormed my way to the front for both shows. Gene was directly above me most of the ‘86 show. Those were the loudest concerts I’ve ever been to.

I agree my friend. I think Revenge could've/should've been released right after Lick It Up. Or at the very least right before Crazy Nights.
@samuraidarryl Жыл бұрын
@@cliffsanchez1451 sadly the music scene was typically Asylum etc and not a Revenge time. Would have been interesting if Gene was “in the band” to see what would have been created. Revenge will always be known as the Return of Gene.

Between my Aunt Jan, and me, playing KISS songs for my Mom, we convinced her KISS music was about girls and rock n roll, not the devil, and as a kid, my Aunt took my cousins and I to see KISS on this tour, Revenge tour. I was 7th row in the Charlotte Coliseum. I was pounded by air coming off the amps all night, but loved it. I will say, Paul Stanley is, was, always will be my fav, but he has a huge head, not ego-wise, but physically. That is a big noggin'. I saw them cause of my Aunt the tour b4, Hot In the Shade, were there was a huge Sphinx and it opened it's mouth and Paul, Gene, Eric Carr on his last tour, and Bruce stood side by side in it, then was nosebleed section for the Reunion tour with Ace and Peter.

I've seen Kiss probably 20 times, i've had front row a few times and second row a couple of times I've also sat in the back.. Got a few picks (Gene, Paul and Bruce) and a towel from Gene. also met them backstage during the Hot in the Shade tour, they were all very cool and autographed my program. They never disappointed live!

I remember when this video first came out. I flipped out. It was the KISS I had been waiting for since the makeup came off. Gene became the Demon again.
@brianr10101010 ай бұрын
I saw Kiss back in the 80's ( no makeup ) and back then tickets ranged from $17 to $26 and to get them you had to go to these chain book stores called Bookbag and get the clerk to call the box office and pick seats from a chart of the arena with them telling you what was still available ( usually only nosebleed seats ) pay the clerk get a receipt stub and wait in line at the venue to pick up your tickets from the ticket booths. Oh, and the closest arena that big acts came to in our state was almost 2 hours away, and the second closest was between 3 1/2 and 4 hours away. Damn, I feel so old now.

Eric Singer and Eric Carr were absolute beasts in the drums in 80s and 90s, Singer continued to be up until 2010ish, then age started to slow him down a bit
@tcconnection Жыл бұрын
I don't know that age slowed him down. 🤔Not all songs call for fast-tempo and thrashing. Matter in fact,some of the previous non-makeup era stuff, the tempo was too fast and the songs were not able to be fully appreciated. I wanted to tell Eric Carr to bring the tempo back down to how the songs were written. Eric Singer has a very diverse background, so I'm glad he doesn't play like like this often. "It's all good" though, RIP Eric C.

I saw Kiss on the Animalize tour in 1984(I think). Back then, they had what was known as festival seating; which meant that when they opened the doors everyone ran like hell to get the best seats. I got carried about 25-30 feet in the crush, but I ended up in the 3rd row on the floor right in front of Gene Simmons. According to lore, sometimes these guys had to be packed in ice right after a show and I can believe it. They put out an insane amount of energy under lights that were hot even out in the audience. For my money, Revenge was the best album they put out since Creatures.

I remember back when concert tickets, the floor (GA) were the cheap seats cause it was standing room, the actual seats, especially on the first level were the pricier tickets. So back in those days, we're young we can stand for hours especially when great bands are playing. I once stood along the barricade of the GNR/Metallica stadium show in 92' Doors opened at like 4, we got in line around 9 am cause it GA was the entire football field and we wanted to be close. So we stood there in line from 9 am, got in the door, all of us but one ran past the merch tables to the field got center stage up against the barricade. The one guy we left at the merch table, my cousin we gave our money and told him to get us tour shirts (Tour shirts had like the dates on the back). So we planned. Body Count hit the stage at like 630-7 ish, Metallica hit the stage right after played for like 2 hours, then we stood around for like 3 hours on Axl to show up (it was a thing he was known for doing) by 1 am about half way into the show we left. Some of us had to be at work in a few hours. and we had an hour drive back home. But we stood there 16 hours. and we paid 31.50 each for GA tickets. Which we though was high at that time. ha.. A different time and bands were a lot more fun. I saw Warrant/Poison in 91 ( I think) against the stage 18.50 for those tix.

I remember this show like it was last year even though it was for the Revenge Tour I got main floor middle section row L seats 1 & 2 and you could feel the Pyro from where we were. I agree that some songs are good to be played LIVE while others are only good for studio so they sound polished up for songs to be played for radio or on a album only this concert was Dec of 92.

Closest I ever had was front row almost in the middle during their Alive Worldwide Tour (original members) in Columbus, GA. Dude-I was in my late 30s and I felt like a kid again because I had always dreamed of seeing them from that spot. The lineup was Skid Row, Ted Nugent then Kiss. Normally I would skip opening acts but I could not miss those 3. It was fresking awesome. 🤟 Eric Singer (drummer there and now with Kiss) was a really hard drummer (duh). He played for Alice Cooper and others over the years.
