But anyone can do this work, and Hannah has a lot of experience and a lot of resources. I'm not trying to downplay what she does, not at all! But when we put people on a pedestal like this, we imply that they're good at the thing because of some intrinsic quality rather than hard work and experience. I don't have her funding or her setup, but I know how to do a lot of what she does and I can use it to save kittens. I wasn't born knowing all that.

"That she can still cry, and not become robotic after seeing this so often, truly speaks to this woman's beautiful soul. I was bawling hearing her happy/ bittersweet tears." I don't do what Hannah does, personally. But I am a rather old man, now, and there has always been a cat in the family.... at least one. Unfortunately, since cats don't live forever, I've seen a lot of them to the rainbow bridge. It never gets any easier.

My hubby found a critical kitten on the side of the road in December. The vet said he was hit by a car which caused him to go blind and his nose was caked shut with dry blood, on top of that he had pnenomia. They didn't think he would make it, but I could tell he was such a strong little guy and I was right! Hes a huge chunky monkey now and is best friends with another one of my rescues :)

Now me too. I've given homes &/or found them for between 60-80, maybe even a 100 over the years. I have a story about a very young LA freeway street pigeon that was fairly unique, he was ready to go back to the wilds in a much better area about 5-6 yrs. later & started his own family. He was a stud by then, LoL, sweet bird. I had PhD avian specialists on the line, in upscale areas who told me he was too far gone & was going to die...... another erroneous genius.

Jimmy is so adorable! Years back, I had a cat named Tucker who was nearly identical to Jimmy. Tucker was the sweetest boy, just so laid back and handsome. Everyone fell in love with him. He was diabetic, so he needed insulin shots twice a day and extra trips to the vet for bloodwork. All of the vet techs would give him so many kisses and hugs when he came in. I think that they were just as heartbroken as I was when he passed away at the age of 17.

Hopefully people will have been taught that by a vet who trained them on how to inject. I know some people will do it without training though and they might not know that so it would be good explanation

Oh and also make sure to get all the bubbles out by tapping the needle and squirting a little out cause that can be painful and bad for them. If you’re wanting to know what my credentials are so that you don’t make a mistake, I was partially taught how to give subcutaneous injections and how to stitch wounds (on a banana, again partially trained) by researchers who work with animals and I think there were med students at CU in colorado as a summer camp thing in 6th grade (I’m in 7th now)

It's true. they really do know when you're caring for them. I foster for a local cat charity, and I took a teeny hep kitten who wasn't expected to make it,but he pulled through much to the amazement of the vet, but then a few months later he developed FIP! Couldn't get a vet to treat him, they wanted to have him PTS, but I heard of an experimental unlicenced drug. Had to inject him at home, and it's horrible stuff, acidic, so it burned every time I injected him. He'd scream with pain and wet himself but after a cuddle and fuss he'd forgive me every time, and now he's completely recovered and the cutest love bug.

I am so glad you took care of that sweet baby even when the vet wanted to give up, I am a foster mom myself, and have had to take care of some pretty sick babies, some that didn’t make it, it can be heartbreaking but it is very rewarding, thank you for all that you do!

My cat had feline coronavirus (not COVID), and it's so common that vets don't even consider it a condition anymore because it's so widespread and there's nothing that can be done. Usually it goes away on its own, but about 10% of cats get FIP, which is almost always fatal. I have heard of these new drugs, and I'm sure they cost a fortune; congrats to you for being so proactive and saving your kitty's life. It's also good to tell your story in case someone else has a cat with FIP, they'll know there's a way to treat it.

My Maggie is almost identical to Jimmy. She'll be 4 years old this August. I adopted her in October, when she was around 2/3 months old, with fleas all over and infected eyes and dropy nose. She was malnurished by her mother. I gave her a warm bath that same night and the next day was vet day. She weigh 650gr and needed quite a few medicine. With a lot of love and care, she managed to grow healthy and strong. Your Jimmy made me go back 4 years in time. So glad he made it through and will be so happy with the new mom and dad :)

Heroes like these do break their own hearts, they do it so their foster babies never have their hearts broken again. If you adopted or saved a cat from the streets though, please don't sell that act short either. As much as we appreciate foster parents like these they are only one part of the story, it takes adopters to give the story a happily ever after.

I found a tiny kitten before couple weeks. I took him. He wasnt walking. He was dehidrated so much. I made him pee. His pee was brown :(. I made him a safe place in my flat. A warm bed with heat pad and other stuffs. I cleaned him made him warm and fed him with formula. He began to pee yellowish. I woke up and fed him. He was teethless:)) but he has teeth now. Loves playing much. After these couple weeks he began to feed from soft meals+formula. I learned much from u. Thank you❤loves from istanbul

The chat goes by too fast, so I don’t know if this got answered: do you use the same nipple to feed each kitten?
@funchik934 жыл бұрын
She answered this on a different video, for same litter kitties she uses the same nipple. But never for unrelated kitties.
@KittenLady4 жыл бұрын
Sorry about that, Dori! I did answer, but the chat is tricky...I always ask people not to spam the chat, but...kids will be kids. The answer is that kittens from the same litter can use the same nipple and other supplies, but kittens from different litters need different supplies. Think of it like what's going on right now with social distancing. You can share your home with your family unit, but any outsiders need at least a 2 week quarantine. You can watch my video about that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6e9mqKonLRoh5o
