Skills wise Kobe was up there with MJ. In just clutch shooting, post game, ability to make jumpers with his left hand (which Jordan couldn't do), acrobatics, finishing, the skills were off the charts.
@cnelsonlv993 жыл бұрын
Jordan didn't shoot jumpers with his left, but he made lots of layups with his left... and most importantly, Jordan could drive left or right with equal effectiveness. Even though Kobe was strong going left, it was a weakness that NBA players knew they could exploit, and that is why they always forced him to go left. It was the single biggest aspect of Jordan's game that separated him from Kobe.

I miss you Kobe! I want to tell you a story about the single greatest sporting feet I have ever seen. It wasn’t your EIGHTY ONE points which is pure insanity. It wasn’t your four straight games over 50 points. Ave 56 points through 4 games and then scoring 43 the next game. It wasn’t your five championships or absolutely OWNING the ALl Stars year after year. Or your Olympic gold with one of the most clutch performances ever in the fourth quarter to dominate Spain and take the close game where the entire Dream Team II rode your greatness to a gold. You seriously put them on your shoulders and carried that game. It wasn’t even your unbelievable strength, will and dedication to your team late in the season when lakers were needing every win to make the playoffs and your Achilles snapped....and you came back to shoot AND MAKE BOTH FTs to secure the win and a playoff berth. It wasn’t any of your 220 playoff games even. It wasn’t so many other times you proved you were the greatest player in each game, each season or maybe even ever. I was at Staple Center like I had been so many times before over your twenty year Laker career. This game I was offered ten times what I payed for my ticket but short of God himself or the man Jesus taking my ticket by force there was no way in hell I was giving it up. It wasn’t a very important game in the scheme of things. Wasn’t going to win a championship in 7 games against the Celtics like you did carrying us to your fifth championship. It wasn’t a WCF against the Kings or Spurs...it wasn’t even a playoff game or even to get in the playoffs. Yet you wouldn’t have known it if you were there or trying to get tickets to be there. You would have sworn it was a game 7 of the Finals. It wasn’t. It was your final game. It was all of us fans, saying thank you to you and your greatness. We didn’t care if you missed every shot. We just wanted to say thank you to Kobe. But all of us true Kobe fans knew...we KNEW the Black Mamba would come out. We willed it. 19 thousand people conjuring the dark one. And the Black Mamba came! The greatest feet I have ever seen in sports PERIOD was your final game. It was one of the greatest moments in my life. Something I can picture as clearly and proudly as the day my baby boy was born. They said you were too old, too tired. An old man in a young mans game. That you couldn’t compete with the youth and talent of today’s NBA. They said you “were” great but the days of you single handily taking over the game and willing your team to win with 50 point games were a distant thing of the past... “they” were wrong. You gave that snarl. You bit your Jersey and Mamba bit with the venom of MJ. 19 thousand of us screaming with every INCREDIBLE shot. It was a lifetime of knowledge of every inch of the court. Seeing MJ’s teaching speak through you. Watching that jab step right foot forward, head and ball fake up...getting the defender stretched up biting on the fake as u fade back and with the touch of Bird and the steps of MJ himself you sink basket after basket. Every shot you would swear it was game 7 clock counting down...if you were there you would know the electricity was nuclear. All 19k people one mind. One voice. All screaming like we were all mad. If any of our wives saw us they would surely have us committed to the crazy house. But the beauty of you out there. A true student who stood on the shoulders of giants. You could see Wilt in you in the post. Could see Magic in your eyes. Could see MJ in every step. Literally every step. Then when asked if you were greater than MJ you just laughed and even sharply told them to stop. Telling them there is only one MJ. That without MJ there is no Kobe but without Kobe there was still MJ. (Something your predecessor James would never do.) But in that moment we saw the greatest player ever. We saw the greatest effort and greatest performance EVER. BECAUSE of MJ, Magic, Bird, Wilt, Kareem...we saw and screamed for all of the legends all on that court in a single body. The last chance for us all to see the absolute beauty and beast of Kobe Black Mamba Bryant. It was our turn to say thank you, but in true Kobe fashion you used it to scream it back to all of us. You gave us this moment we will all remember tell the day we die. Kobe, with tears in my eyes and chills as I remember that night....THANK YOU. RIP Kobe and your beautiful daughter. RIP

Sam lmafo that was the era of street culture which was was brought into the nba by allen iverson. Ratings dipped pretty big with fights almost everynight .lol and everybody looked like gang bangers . david stren returned the favor by ghosting and destroying Allens career.

I miss Kobe in the NBA, he was the last of a dying breed of the 80s/90s NBA players and the mentality of that era... when defense actually existed and players wanted to be the best by beating the best and not by joining them. To think there was a time i took for granted being able to see the mamba play too, but I'm lucky I got to witness his whole 20 year career start to finish, crazy to think I was still in grade school when he was a rookie... I got Kobe over Bron strictly based on mental toughness and winning.

How can you even say Kobe sucks lol

Sebastian In the way people say LeBron sucks, as in "we don't like you" lol. Also, that woman who lost her anal virginity only to later find out that she was a one time thang. So she accused the big Black man for rape a a scenario that's been echoed in time, á la Emmett Till. Btw that woman confessed on her death bed that it's a false accusation, an interesting philosophical question comes to mind as Dave Chappelle suggested, was it a necessary incident? It helped aid Black people greatly: www.nytimes.com/2017/01/27/us/emmett-till-lynching-carolyn-bryant-donham.html

captain save LeHoe Love it how adam silver helped lebron win his 4th ring while he is using peds. Changed the nba season just for him And is going to change the nba schedule for the post for him as well. That's why everyone is injured and out. It will be so hilarious if he manages to lose this year with all the help the nba/media has given him. Lebron is truly an overrated juicer athlete.

ohhh yeahhh Wow absolutely no respect for one of the greatest, you don't even give him credit for maintaining good health like no other, stop the hate and just appreciate what he has left to offer while you still have the chance.

J. ROD #LeGoatFan good health??? Bro stfu LeBron has been juicing for 9 years. You dont go from entering the nba as a twig like durant too looking completely different. Roids made him bald. Gave him a round head. He had tumors and swelling on his jaw line from injecting roids into his jaw receptors. Once bron retires and the roid stories comes out he will lose all his stats. And will be labeled as the greatest cheater ever more than Barry bonds.

Kobe's influence on the court was scary! He caused the entire team to collapse and forced coaches to adjust and think. He defeated them before the game was even over! It's reasons like this that make me wonder why Kobe isn't even in the goat conversation. I understand if you feel that he isn't and it's cool. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but to not even be in the conversation is just plain rude!😡
@JanRey5263 жыл бұрын
If you ever been to Reddit, them guys rank Kobe outside the top 10. 11 or 12 maybe, behind Hakeem, Duncan, etc. And all they based it from is stats, efficiency. I understand that many of these guys did not see Kobe play in his prime but, man he was scary. There are very few players that just instill fear into opponents' hearts and Kobe was definitely one of those. That couldn't be quantified in stats
