I love them, I made them for my Co workers who hasn't heard of them, now some of them on occasion request that I make them....I go the cheating way and use the already sweetened koolaid in the little canister although when I first made them I went through the troubles of mixing the sugar and koolaid...I use a gallon of sliced dill pickles and about a half canister of already sweetened koolaid...if you want to play with it, top it off with some diced jalapeño peppers....it then becomes a nice spicy treat....nice video....

In my neck of the woods(Navajo reservation in the U.S) we don't use the sugar. All we do is get a whole dill pickle and sprinkle a little kool aid straight from the packet onto the pickle bite to bite.
@Natashakiable18
@Natashakiable18 8 жыл бұрын
I've never been able to eat a whole pickle like that. I remember in 5th grade, every Friday if we didn't have any bad marks (like if we were rude we'd get a red strip into this pocket like thing and I remember there was a yellow one too but I don't remember what it meant...anyway), if we didn't get any bad marks we would get to choose between chocolate (whatever the teacher had; we got like 3 of those, I think) or a whole pickle. And I remember the majority of the class chose a whole pickle and I never understood why because at the time I thought pickles were so gross! So one day I decided to get a pickle instead of chocolate and I took maybe two bites and because it was sour I instantly wished I had chosen the chocolate instead LOL. But that was the last time I ever attempted to eat a whole pickle. Aside from that, I don't mind the sliced ones in burgers and what not. :P Just a fun story I wanted to share. xD

My neighbor from Georgia called red Koolaid hood juice. I had Koolickles in Alabama growing up. I can't remember if we ever used tropical punch, but they were usually red. As a grownup, I discovered I like a variation of these: I put whole dill pickles into a jar of bread and butter pickle juice. They are tangy and less sweet than bread and butter pickles or sweet pickles--they are my favorite. I buy the bread and butter chips just to get the juice, which I can use a couple of times. As for regular, untreated dill pickles, my favorite brand is a German import called Gundelsheim Barrel Pickles (don't get the garlic; get the regular ones). They are all-natural and have a fresh dill flavor that is like the homemade pickles I had as a child.

Relish! Spot on. You are so good at describing things. Thats a big reason I subscribed. I've been trying to get my s.o to try these but the only words I can use to describe it is, "Its sweet and less pickley. Just trust me." Needless to say my family rarely trusts my tastebuds.

I'm originally from West Texas and although we never did our pickles like that, we did use to take the Kool-aid pack and (dry) add either salt or sugar to it and then as we ate these huge pickles we would sprinkle the dry mixture it before each bite. That was soo good. Of course that was when we did not worry or even consider about things like sodium, so I liked to add the salt and that made the pickle even more sour.

Never heard of this in Alabama but my family always makes red hot pickles once a year. Fresh cucumbers cut up and soaked in white distiller vinegar, red hot candies, and a few other spices. They're great!

They pretty much take on the color of whatever you soak them in. I like the blue raspberry color best, but the cherry and grape taste the best to me. There are even some Kool-Aid flavors without the food dye in them, so the pickles will keep their original color.

@NoExitLoveNow
@NoExitLoveNow 8 жыл бұрын
June First I've not seen that, but O.K. that is probably not especially good. I suppose which was worse would depend on the quantities. Also, the number of foods actually labeled or marketed as "health foods" with MSG has got to be low. Perhaps they put it in Miso and some convenience Asian foods, but mostly I don't see it. Also, even if they put MSG in some foods marketed as healthy this does not negate the fact that eating your calories as sugar and artificial dyes/flavoring is also not good. In this case you are merely flavoring cucumbers so the amounts would be low and less important. Still, worth mentioning.
@starquilt
@starquilt 8 жыл бұрын
+NoExitLoveNow There's too many to name. Like aspartame for example, they put it in diet soda/other healthy drinks and even foods. They cause people to have severe migraines and get sick. They also started taking it out of yogurt. For whatever reason people think it's healthy but aspartame is just a low calorie artificial sweetener. I know it probably sounds like I'm getting annoyed with her when she goes on about fake flavored or overly sweet stuff but I'm not. I'm just letting her know that even healthy stuff has flaws.

+Twilight Warrior diet soda is a healthy drink? o_O I though all soda are bad for us to drink. Anyway, I think not all healthy products are full of chemicals, some are but most don't have it or have very tiny quantity. You just have to be smart when picking the right food :) Also, all food and drinks have those chemicals, even in the water we drink :0
