So many good punk shows there, but it was the first time Korn played Jacksonville. The following year, they played at Shades, which was a bigger club in Orange Park Florida, which is basically in the boarder of Jacksonville. They had the weirdest opening band for them, which was The Urge. After that I saw them in Lakeland FL and it was a coliseum show. Then was the first Family Values tour. Follow the Leader is my top, but those first 3 are so hard to judge as the best. And as a bassist myself, I agree with you on Fieldy. Everyone talked shit on him in the bass forums back in the late 90s/early 2000s. Technically, not a great bassist, but having that signature tone and feel trumps any technique master.

Life is Peachy is my #1, followed closely by KORN (Self-titled)

Harsh on issues, but yeah, I'd say there's 7 God tier albums by Korn, and that is some achievement! They're my favourite band and I love almost everything they have done (The dubstep stuff wasn't for me, but that's fine) It gets so boring hearing people say how they lost their way after their first two. They didn't, they evolved and they kept making awesome music while so many bands from their time faded away. It's hard to choose my absolute favourite album, although it usually bounces around between Untouchables, Issues or Follow the leader. Regarding nobody sounding like them, a band called Chaosism gets close at times. "Smile again" sounds very Korn like. But yeah, there's only one Korn.

I started getting into Korn nearly two years ago, about a week after a breakup and they became and have remained a favourite of mine. Surprisingly, I never cared too much for Follow The Leader. I don't mind it by any means but it never hit me as much as albums like self titled, Issues, or even The Nothing and Requiem.

I also love The Nothing and Requiem. They are incredible

You know David Silveria wasn't the greatest most technical drummer but damn I haven't heard anyone drum like him.

It is peculiar because of the 7 string guitars. the band is creative. all of them. Saw them open for Metallica on the Load album tour. First time I heard Korn and I was hooked. Bagpipes on a metal stage? Fuck yeah!

Korn,(1994) Issues and untouchables are masterpiece albums

That's the thing about KoRn, for the albums you listed, for fans, it's all interchangeable. It's a gospel that KoRns albums are phenomenal but the en masse opinion of which ones those albums are is very hard to nail down, since each albums has its perfect quirks that make it fit for that person.

To each their own but I wouldn't put SYOTOS so high up I thought the 2007 self titled was better

Issues has always been my favorite album by Korn it's what I grew up with so it could be nostalgia but I love the more melodic creepy sound that they had on this album

KoRn has way too much good content for me to even begin to compile a "worst to best" list! I'm so glad you made this video though, FInn!

Can confirm, bought ibanez RG7621 in 98 because of Korn. Worked like a slave for minimum wage at WcDonalds for months with one on layaway only to plug it into a terrible Crate solid state amp and decide to obsess over learning slayer songs instead, and eventually got mid enough to have real strugglebus Kittie cover band. That crashed and burned hard. Eventually sold that guitar so I could buy christmas trash for an emo girl, years later, and that was the death of the true fcks I gave about playing guitar, despite having bought and sold a bunch of them since. And now I'm monologuing into F McK's youtube comments.

That Beat Drop on “Freak on a Leash” is insane… you can be in a comma and listen to that and it’ll get you out of the fucken Comma to Headbang 😂

Greatest rock/metal band of all-time. I have more songs from Korn on my Spotify than any other band. They’ve produced bangers from every album and Jonathan is as versatile vocally as it gets

@17:27 fieldy is 1000% what makes korn unique he's the first to get that tone and literally the only person right now who can pull it off it's so unique that anyone else trying is straight copying it

9:40 except that meshuggah has been around longer than Korn and were really underground with their first albums, meanwhile Korn kinda exploded in the metal scene right off the bat. So i wouldnt say that this group or that group really influenced each other since they are so removed from one another and also granted that they started in late 80's early 90's, when it was more difficult to find indy metal bands from the other side of the globe

I saw two shows on the Life is Peachy tour in 1997. It started with "Twist", it was very weird and furious and the sound was insane especially the bass.

Another fun fact about Untouchables; beyond the large amount of money spent on recording/production, the drums alone took about a full month to produce.
