Among the uneasy things I found (as mentioned in my immensely long commentary above) jarring with the original Dec.2000 one, "The Emperor's New Groove" that started it all, was EWF themselves doing "Groove Tonight". Great song but something that you don't normally expect to hear in a Disney film (even if it is something hipper like this).

People warning him of this movie and using this is an example of how bad Disney Sequels can get is news to me. I barely see anyone really talk about this outsie of just listing it along side the mediocre sequels. Honestly, i think this is one of the better ones. Not every joke or moment works, but it gave Kronk a nice sweet story and had it's funny nad nice moments. It's cliche yes but feels somewhat genuine by the end. It's clearly not the first movie, but I'd rather have this than a straight forward sequel that rehashes the plot or gives Kuzko a kid so they can rehash the plot or some shit.

I've seen it a number of times...... I may even have it on DVD. It's one of the few Disney films I actually own and I am not ashamed to say it. I put it down to the fact the the original movie is one of my favourites from the classic range.

I actually like this sequel for what it was and how good it was. It’s just my opinion and I love how this story played out, it’s a good message that all adults and kids need to learn. The message is “Be happy with what you have instead of worrying about the things you don’t have” Kronk needed to learn that he already has everything he needs, love and admiration from the towns folk because of his sweet personality, a good job that he loves doing which is a source of income, and a girl that he connected with in personal interest and their personalities go so well together. I caught some of the adult jokes that were aimed at an older audience. It gave great continuity from the previous movie.

Fun Fact that you might appreciate Doug, as it's a small way to tie-in to one of your favourite Series.: there was one small recast among the returning characters from the first fil. We own the movie on DVD and whenever we spent the day/night at my grandparents' place my little sister would put this movie on loop. All day. No breaks. No ideas why. I can even picture what an Yzma centered sequel would be like: Sequel to the first movie that disregards both this and the TV series (I liked the TV series, but you'll see why I imagine this would disregard it soon), Yzma's still stuck as a kitten and discovers that there's a way she can change back and goes on this grand journey to get there, Kuzco and Kronk end up helping her along the way and she initially reluctantly helps other people too, eventually undergoing a true redemption that leads to her becoming human again...I think it'd be pretty cool! Eartha Kitt will be missed.

CJCroen1393 or have it either take place between the movie or after the TV series and completely flip the redemption arc thing on its head. Have Yzma temporarily work with others to stop a greater threat (one that also threatens her position of power) but never actually become a good guy. Yzma's wickedness is kind of the heart (or lack thereof) of her character. and it'd be interesting to see a villain centric movie that doesn't try to paint the villain as a misunderstood hero. (You know who you are.)

Wasn't there a TV series based on The Emperor's New Groove, where the Emperor builds a high school or something? Seems to me that Disney yet again made a direct-to-TV sequel to promote that :S

MrJechgo Actually it's called the Emperor's New School. Kronk's new groove isn't an intro to movie, it's just a movie. But the show is basially Kuzco needing to graduate in order to take the thrown. It takes place after the first film because he lives with Paucha's family. It's a pretty decent show :)

I really liked this movie since I first saw it when I was young. Being young when seeing this moive, I didn't see it as bad or anything, to a little kid it's just funny. So it has a speical place in my heart.

I normally agree with Doug but this movie is a big part of my childhood. Me and my little brother would watch this all of the time and loved the part where Kronk and the councilor danced.

The in-movie explanation is that she's still somehow a cat, her transformation only wore off over time.

The Kronk's New Groove movie takes place a year or so after the original movie, again, according to the movie. I watched the whole thing and there was never anyone stating how long its been so I pretty much call it vague at best.

I like this one, largely because Patrick Warburton isn't phoning it in imo. he's genuinely trying, and at some points I actually found him very funny. I thought the animation during the earth wind & fire segment was really cool looking too, lovely colours and character movement. I think Yzma is is solid in this one too. Would have liked there to be more K-U-Z-C-O (gogo!) but I understand why there wasn't
