If you mean the tool I used to cut the hole for the connector to pass through tyhe plastic inner panel it's called a "stepped drill cutter"

Unfortunately not, the controller and mounts used are specifically for the 3rd generation 1290SAS/R

What's the difference i.e. pros/ cons to the hex and the Denali module?

They are the same product, Denali license the product from Hex who developed it. The Denali CANsmart even carries the Hex logo on the back. I am not sure if it is still the case but with the Hex EZ Can you used to have to order the harnesses seperately, with Denli they are in the box.

Does moto-mate mount work with touratech crash bar extension?

Enjoyed the video and the descriptions. But PLEASE show a list of the items necessary for the installation. It’s annoying to have all those things removed and started to install and then realizing that additional harnesses are needed, because the combined wiring of the Cansmart and the D3s is not long enough…

Hi there, items required for this install are: - Denali Cansmart Controller - Denali Split Soundbomb - Moto-Mate Split Soundbomb mount for KTM 1290SAS 2021 onwards - Denali D3 Light pods - Moto-Mate Denali light mounts for KTM 1290SAS 2021 onwards I am happy to create a bundle for all this if you require it.

Thank you, I had all of the above - but still the harness from the pods was not long enough to have it connected to the CanSmart, that, I suppose should be in a position where it can be easily accessed (and not e.g. beneath the fuel-tank). In your video (at 3:23), are the „light harnesses deh deh deh deh deh“ the harnesses that come directly from the pods? Also: The light mounts used in the video are not the same that you provide to customers. The ones you send me need the hanging brackets on the mounts (at 8:50)

@@user-dq1tj5yt6y Hi there, that is unusual, on bot hthis install from the video and also the one on my own SAS I was hiding excess light harness behind the sidepanels. Where did you mount the CANsmart? My CANsmart and the one in this install is mounted on the frame for the airbox under the bottom of the tank cover by the connectors for the heated seats. If the cables are too short try and move it forward. If you get stuck give me a shout and I can send you some pics of where mine is mounted

Sorry I have just seen this. My CANsmart is mounted under the bottom of the central tank cover panel (the grey one that goes over the middle) and the harnesses are long enough for that location and the Canbus connection is just about long enough to reach the diagnostic port.

To remove that tank is not just as simple as removing a few bolts,did mine a couple of times it’s a pain😮
