The Kubota didn't seem to mind it being back there at all! I have the NH equivalent to the 6040, and people keep saying don't go over 10ft. I still haven't bought a disk yet, but this will be good to keep in mind! Thanks

I think in the heavy black soil down south might be a bit much. Up here where I am I dont have that it wears on the equipment pretty hard sand rock and very abrasive ground.

I have the same disk, it is a John Deere AW. I pull mine with my M7060 and it does great. Had to replace serval bearing and bearing carriers to get it going and will put all new blades now that I have seen how good it does.

How did you transport that

I find guys putting food plots in our area kind of funny. Our whole area is a food plot. The rivers just a couple miles away you have thousands of Acres of woods for them to hide. You got all your hay ground corn and bean fields that are surrounded by Woods I just don't see the deer coming to a food plot. Especially since I started putting covers in with my corn my brother's food plot is made using them same covers but the deer rather eat in the safety of the Corn

Hey bud I'm new at this. Got a small property un the hill country try here in Texas with rolling hills but got a lot of pot holes and I'm bouncing thru the property as I mow. So after you disk it will the hay or native grasses will grow back again or do you need to re seed? Also to get it nice and flat would you drag a chain drag or a pole behind the tractor afterwards?

Hey Mr T. My method after discing is a cultimulcher but unless its used often isn't worth the investment. Usually if you can use an old drag of some sort to flatten the ground. Pole, pieces of i-beam works nice because you have 2 edges and its heavy. Some people drag a a pallet or 2 lashed together with a couple old tires on top for weight behind an atv. Native grasses will come back to an extent if your only discing and leveling and not plowing the ground under. It doesn't hurt to broadcast a little seed on it to help out the bare spots and such. Good luck man. Anymore questions feel free I'll try to get back to ya.

@@RickBork Apprecite the quick response Rick! I will follow your advice I know it's probably common sense to anyone who has been around farm life but for us city folks not so much! Trying to make the least mistakes while enjoying installing fences and digging a pond that's more like a mud pit at the moment. Subscribing to your channel. 👍

Looked like she pulled it no problem. Will this be a food plot or what?
@RickBork4 жыл бұрын
Hey Brian thanks for stopping by. It will be a food plot for my buddy Gary. I prefer new seeding myself and you'll get just as many deer but to each there own. Take care man hope all is well.

It's doing a nice job, but then again its a John Deere so that's just a given!!....I wouldn't mind finding a disk that size so if you decide to get something else keep me in mind!!

Check ads in southern mn and Iowa if you don't mind a haul I've bought a few tillage items down there. They are usually in better shape because they haven't lived in rock country there entire life. I hauled that disc.back up 35E out of eastern iowa 11 1/2 wide past the Capitol and in the middle lane. Should have had the camera on lol. Thanks for watching man I much appreciate it.

Ha!...11 1/2 wide through the cities, a true rebel move, I bet those liberal yuppies down there were beside themselves!!....we don't have much for rocks around here but when scrap was high the tree rows got cleared out and with as is as everyone is up here equipment like that has no purpose which is sad.
