I've bought a kun solo after watching this video! Thanks for the tip!

I'm also using the kun solo. It's perfect for me, easy to adjust and affordable.
@mangotango44035 жыл бұрын
Shady Robin would you recommend that one or the kun collapsible
@3rdchan5 жыл бұрын
@@mangotango4403 i would recommend the kun Solo. It is very easy to adjust, and comfortable. It does not slip at all. I bought an extra long leg from ebay because i also have a long neck. You will only need 1 long leg if ever you need one.
@mangotango44035 жыл бұрын
Dee Camaongay would you be able to link the legs?

I've been using kun since I was a kid!! Love it

Thank you for mentioning the leg extensions. My neck is a bit longer than most and I always have to tilt my head just to hold my violin up. I bought myself a pair and they have helped with comfort and pain. I didn’t even know these existed!! Thank you so much!

I'd like to get those, too, but can’t find them anywhere. Amazon doesn’t carry them, and I've never seen them in any store. While they're listed on Kun's website under "accessories," there’s no way to order from there. It seems the only way to get them is to be a world-famous violinist and do a video about them. 😄
@DinoDudu15 жыл бұрын
Old Fogey Music Oh I definitely had to dig around to find them!! And yeah, I never knew of such thing until a famous violinist mentioned them (in this video lol) but I actually bought mine on EBay. You can either search them on EBay as “Kun extra long leg shoulder rest legs” or on this link: www.ebay.com/itm/Canada-Genuine-Kun-Replacement-Legs-for-Shoulder-Rests-Super-Long-35mm/323514025714?hash=item4b52f046f2:g: That is where I ordered! (Takes a big of time) but worth ittt!

This is really cool ... but what if I don't want to use a shoulder rest? I'm a beefy dude and don't have a long neck. I'm going to try without, but you have been most helpful if it isn't working. Thanks!

I don’t even use a shoulder rest but I’m still watching because I really like your videos
@altoclef66884 жыл бұрын
Oh dear, never occurred to me there are different models nowadays. I have "The KUN rest" since the 1980:s (didn't wear it out yet..) - back then it was the one and only named KUN.
@kangarookicker69954 жыл бұрын
There is still the regular kun rest. Just better models.

i think kun shoulder rests have very low height, the violin sits too much inclined, i like a more horizontal violin like how jascha heifetz uses his one. what shoulder rest i could be using for this?
@Mrlikeall6 жыл бұрын
Diego Weber They used no shoulder rest
@franciscadavies6 жыл бұрын
Pirastro Korfker is good for that but it’s very expensive.
@sarahtammen30226 жыл бұрын
If you want a (near) horizontal violin but not a lot of additional height from your shoulder rest, I recommend a small sponge (e.g. fiddlershop.com/collections/violin-shoulder-rests/products/red-round-rubber-pad-for-shoulder-rest) or a micro gel rest. Each of these options feels a lot like playing without a shoulder rest, but keeps your violin from sliding as much. Moreover, each can be moved around on the back of the violin. If you are looking for more height from your shoulder rest then the Maestro shoulder rest (www.sharmusic.com/accessories/shoulder-rests/maestro-violin-shoulder-rest-fits-3-4---4-4-size.axd) or Poehland shoulder rest may suit you.

Is there Kun shoulder rest for 1/4 violin?
@kangarookicker69954 жыл бұрын
The kun classic and kun colour and I think folding kun go down to 1/8 but don’t quote me. Go to your local luthier/violin shop.

Of course. But bonmusica is better for that age. Teacher has to mold it to the student, though.

I shoulder rest for 5 year but when it broke when i dont have the cash to replace it yet, i continue to practice and discovered a better sound so i got used without it for 4 years now but now that im playing vivaldi, i think i need shoulder rest again for a free-er left hand and shoulder and neck.

Bravo sucks... My violin is a little bit bigger than average, Bravo is kinda small, won't stay securely in place without ajusting the size on the side that is not supposed to be changed... And I even found the Collapsible to be more comfortable. Complete waste of money for me.

Some of the greats do use shoulder rests as well. Using one or not using one does not dictate talent.
