Thank you. I had purchased a TTR 230 and learned quickly the suspension sucked. So I bought an old YZ125 front end to put on. The suspension needed rebuilding but I was trying to keep my budget low. After watching this video about 5 times, I did the first one while watching and pausing. Was able to do my second one on my own and feel confident enough to do the basic maintenance on them. Keep up the great videos

I havnt seen a video where someone pulls apart the valve and the rod. Valve has a staked nut on top. Rod end where the castle nut tool goes is staked as well to the tube. Other end of rod inside cylinder has a staked nut. If i feel either of those 2 components dont work properly then ill open them up. But theres a bunch of orings still left in my kit after i did the easy stuff. Either these parts are staked because their "replaceable" or to keep people out, or maybe they would come apart easy. Hopefully anything in those 2 parts arnt bad after reassembly.

I understand, and honestly, most of the time the valve stacks are fine as long as the oil isn’t contaminated. I have rebuilt forks before with dirt in the oil, how, not sure.

Hi Dan!! I have 07 yz250f and is the exact forks in video. I’ve watched many videos to compare and catch consistency in the process, your video was definitely clear and simple I love the most how you didn’t go overboard with your explaining and talking you stayed on track lol definitely made it easier to watch. So I was going through the process and I’m having issues keeping compression on my innertube compression chamber when I disassembled the forks from the outer tube and replace the seals. I went to check the compression and they had lost compression so I took them apart re-oiled them, and attempted this with your video, as soon as I feel that I have compression and threaded in and then go to test it. It seems to lose compression and then all the oil spill out. I’m at a loss. I feel that it’s not me and that maybe there’s something else wrong I could use your thoughts.

Sounds like you are not sealing in the inner chamber. The piston in the inner chamber could be blowing by, or you have air in the bleed. Hard to say without actually seeing it and feeling the stroke. Idk man, I wish I could help, but this sounds like an air or sealing area issue.

I lowering my forks kx250f 04 flat track (not proper way to do it but works) 3,5" = "8.5cm" on spring I need to put 4" =10cm spacer on somewhere on cartridge. Ive read forum they sayd to put spacer top of the piston?? I have picture of whole fork disassembly but i cant put it here, so you cant point out what they mean😅

thank you sir. do you have any tricks to make is play softer?
@DanMX2112
@DanMX2112 9 ай бұрын
@@StickmanTV using a thinner oil will allow the suspension to travel at a faster rate, meaning plusher and softer. This is the only way until you get into springs and valving. It works great btw, go for it. Try a 3 or 5 weight oil.

its in the bikes owners manual. Also there is no single amount. they give ranges for example my 01 yz 250 is 130 stock but can hold 150 with adjustments made in 5ml increments up to 150ml or cc. this is used in conjunction with clickers to fine tune handling.

I've done everything exactly how you have done only it won't thread in and get tight just partially threaded and then it spins everything even when I hold it. I have no idea any help would be appreciated. What I'm seeing shouldn't even be possible. I'm at a loss

The side you are holding in your hand, pull it tight agains the fork tube, and try again. Let me know, but that’s the technique, your putting it on a bind temporarily to get the end to tighten up.

My docs are quite good, everything is understandable. Just the "hold the cartridge steady" is not very helpful. So i was looking for a video, aaannd ... it doesn't show. 🥴 But works like described here. Pull the upper piston rod of the cartridge out of center. 👍
